Keep getting calls from these people stating they are with census bureau. First called home phone after no answer this junk calls they started calling my cell phone. I'm just wondering is this another Government harassment for voting Republican.After the IRS harassment of Tea party groups! Am I the only one out there thinking this?

We have been receiving calls from this number stating they were the Census Bureau.  Being skeptical about most 800 number type calls I would not speak with them so I contacted the Census Bureau to check the number out and was told that it is a legitimate number.  They have various call centers around the country that conduct surveys, etc. from time to time.  Their direct number is 800-523-3205.

Its all b.s. to get information for their corporat entity, what people do not understand is this is not Constitutional and only pertains to corporate entities and franchices within the meaning of the United Nations and agendy 21, its all VOLUNTARY, do not VOLUNTER

The so called census was taken a few years back, this one is full of hot air and for corporate entities such as municipal/counties and political subdivisions within a bordered Constitutional area that ratified Title 2 of Volume 1 United States Code which includes TItles 1-4 the Organic Laws and has nothing to do with Article IV of Title 2 within Volume 1, at this point I am sure I screwed up your mind, but I just want to inform you of what you may not know, respectfully.

Just got a call from these guys.  The gentleman that called had a very thick accent. I asked him three times who he was calling with and each time I couldn't understand what he said. He asked me 3 times if I was  "name removed" he couldn't say my last name at all. I apologized to him and said I really couldn't understand what he was saying and I refused to say who I was. He again said, "I told you who I was!  do you have a problem!?" I was able to understand that at least. I told him I just couldn't understand his accent. I asked him to hold and I handed the phone to my husband. The guy hung up. My husband called the number back and there was a recording saying it was the Census Bureau conducting a survey.

I did a census survey in person at my home several months ago. I received a letter in the mail about it and after doing research, figured it was probably legit. The gal that stopped by was very nice and asked what I would consider legit census questions. No trouble since.

If this call was/is actually the census bureau, they picked the wrong person to be making these calls.  I feel bad that I couldn't understand him.

I've been getting the calls since October 15th.  They have been leaving voicemail asking me to call.  I've received calls from each of the different #'s.  Since we live in a day of scammers, I decided to inquire online before taking a call or returning one.  I found this site, and have found the comments to be helpful since it lets me know what others think or know.  I also went to the site of the Census Bureau as often the official sites will give you information about exactly what they do or don't do.  The site was very informative.  First, if you get a survey, you can go to the Census B's site and verify it.  You can also call them to answer or even do it online.  Second, the site says they do have folks who will call and follow-up on surveys, BUT they WILL NOT ask for SSN or other certain information.  So if someone does, it's fake.

The way I see it, there are legitimate calls going out (to follow up on surveys sent out).  But scammers know this and so they try to get in on the action.  The only way to tell the difference is to be on our guard and ask questions and do research.

Personally, I don't have a problem with participating in a legitimate survey.  Heck, most of folks are quick to give the same information (how much household makes, own/rent) to credit card companies.  And every time we use a "reward card, "  there's a company collecting the data on all the stuff we buy.  The point is, be sure it's legit.  And if they are, it doesn't authorize them to be rude or threatening.  I'll quickly hang up on them.

I got one of those things in the mail too.  How much $ do you make?  How long does it take you to commute to work?
do you use bus or car?  all kinds of personal questions...survey said "it would only take 45 minutes to fill it out".
I am not interested.  

How many people live in your house?  How old are they?  complete utter personal stuff that I am not interested in answering.  Probably setting up so Obama can consolidate neighborhoods, make sure there are no suburbs any more, make sure that every house has at least  5 people living in it...

These idiots wont stop calling me. They say they are calling from the census bureau. I told them I wasnt giving out any personal information over the phone and to remove me from their list and they still continue to call me. Can someone please report these losers to some authority? I have no idea where to report them to.

I got a call today.  April 3, 2015.  Wanted to know if I had received a questionnaire form in the mail.  I said no. and refused to talk on the phone.  Don't  know who these people are.  No way to verify who they were.  I hung up.

4-3-15  Got call, could not verify.  They want information over  the phone.  I hung up.
Sounds like some front group wanting information ( Gay rights - Gun laws - immigration - Hands up don't shoot)

I received a call (voice mail) on May 1-2015, from the "Census Bureau" referring to a case number and asking for a call back.  I did not return the call.

A lady called me on October 8, 2015 saying that she is calling U.S census office wants to reinterview and I said completed Interview on online not do again. She said again they chosen me do reinterview asked me to call better time I said no because I did interview. what is this?

the caller identified himself as as a census employee and that I need to call back because of some missing information.

i've been recieving calls for 3 weeks after the 31 day wait period from the 8122183144 number.  I've filed two complaints and i'm going for a lawsuit.

This number has been calling my house for the past couple of weeks. One or 2 calls a day.. sometimes as late as 8:45pm.  Usually hangups but a couple of times a recorded message to call a different number with a case number.  We get these type of calls from people claiming to be IRS, and a lot of political calls with hangups and or recorded messages.  We do not answer our phone unless it is someone we personally know.  I've read never to answer / reply to people claiming to be IRS, Sheriff, Police, etc. will never call, but will mail written letter. Assume this applies to other govt. agencies.

Receiving many calls from the Census Burea or people claiming to be.....Received 2 calls at 11:30 at night. I tend to think this is not legit. I called the local office and left a message. For people who are constantly calling the house you would think someone would be in the main office answering the phone. You would also think, when they call they would also have on hand the correct information I sent in on my survey. As much as we are preached to about not giving out personal information on the phone, you would think this is not a government branch. Although our government is messed up. I was told if I did not cooperate they would show up at my door.  Better not be at 11:30 at night, police will be waiting for them!
