This telephone number calls me at least once a day for the past month or longer.

Got a call at 7:45pm. Didnt answer. Voicemail said census bureau and to call back an 800 number. I thought the census was every 10 years. And its not time for it if it is.

They said they were from the census

This is an actual employee for the census bureau. I actually called the bureau and asked them to verify the number and they said that it was from one of their agents. The number I called was 1800-523-3205
You people are just paranoid

Called on 07/18/2016 at  call id showed8:26p.M. Caller id showed census bureau s. Get  call from different numbers that say it is the census bureau. Show that it is a scam or fraud. On the do not call list. They need to completely quit calling and take my number off their internal calling list.

Called on 8/1/2016  about 4 pm  Wanted to talk to lady or gentleman of the house and wanted to know when one of them would be here.  Told them I had no idea and hung up.

Very fishy. Asked all the personal questions. And the lady who asked the questions would never stop.

Was called several times.  They had my sister-in-law's address in another state and I told her mine and she said she could not ask me any of the questions because they were for the person at the other address.

I have received the same call from three different numbers that all actually DO trace back to the census bureau. This and the other numbers can actually be searched at census.gov. That said, they keep calling my cell phone which is a number I never give out (and in this case is a new number I got less than a year ago) so I am pretty confident whoever they're looking for, it isn't me. To voicemail and blocked caller list you go...

I continuously get calls from this number as well as others stating to be from the Census Bureau referencing a "claim" number in which I know nothing about.  I answered the phone one time with a lady who wanted to know where I shopped and so forth.  I declined to answer and told her to stop harrassing me with these phone calls.  When will it stop?????

This is a valid number for the US Census.  I looked it up.  The number left for me to return the call is also legitimate.  You can find these numbers at the US Census webpage https://www.census.gov/about/npc.html
These are legitimate census calls, and our cooperation is helpful.  The bureau conducts many surveys year round in addition to the big census every 10 years.

This call came to the office I work at.  I know it is a scam because she told me that she has called three times and the person she was calling did not pick up.  She couldn't have called this particular person because they have not worked here for several years.  And would the US government really have someone calling us that spoke very, very poor English?  I kept having to have her repeat herself because I could not understand her.

This IS a Census Bureau field agent, and legitimate. If you call the Census Bureau from their website, they will give you the field office location and number for your address. Call the number and they will tell you what survey. These data are crucial to track US employment numbers correctly. It only takes a minute and serves your country. It is the patriotic thing to do.

This is not spam it is a legit phone number for the census bureau. They are sending out packets for the 2020 census.
