Got the same e-mail. Tried calling Andy Rose (who is a real person btw) but the number (206-666-4169)is a fax - which was the first tip-off. Second, I've had a number of tenants come in from abroad, and when the company is putting up the rent it is always through an agent and everything is paid, signed and sealed BEFORE they come, so it seemed a little fishy that he wanted to deal direct. Thanks for your posts! It's nice to see there are people out there looking out for each other!

I figure it's all about the cashier's check, because if he was after information for Identity Theft, he would just stop at the resume and wouldn't ask for the information twice. Also, he might be asking for a Social to work out Taxes.

He contacted me this weekend and is going by the name Henry Rowland from the UK. He stated he would like the apartment on September 1st and would send me two months rent and security deposit. He left the number 832.615.1294 for me to reference him with Culligan. He said he was coming with his wife and son for one year.

Has anyone actually called the number to see what it says?

I'm in South Dakota, posted my townhomes on Craig's list and he emailed me.  Thank you all for posting...you get the "feeling" its a scam but its nice to confirm so quickly with the help of all of you.  My guy is David Boyer from the UK today with the same letter word for word right down to his "precious family"...he definately needs some new material!
