add a zero, talk talk omits it on 1471, it is BT Text Message ,I E someone sent you an sms to your home number

We are getting calls from this number, many at very unsocial times (eg 11.45 pm) - with the call ending after 3 or 4 rings - so we never get there in time. The number is not recognized (1471 doesn't give us the first "1") on dialling back and "ringback" (which costs of course and we've only tried once) mentions some sort of BT service.
We could really do without these !!

i keep getting calls from this number with messages which are very concerning.  ending with a kiss and this is very intrusive and damaging to peoples relationships.  Surly its illegal?

this number keeps phoning me, its a nuisance, me and my wife are disabled, and we are being targeted by this number, we have reported it to our network provider

Been getting calls from this number also, it looks like Marlin finance use this text to voice service to try and contact people that dont answer the phone to there normal number, i just used the number on page one of this thread and barred it.

0845602111 - This number will call you on your landline when someone sends a text message from a mobile phone to a landline.

If you do not answer the call they will keep trying until the message is delivered either to you or your answer machine.

It is an automated service and nothing to worry about

I've just had a call from 0845 6021111 as a BT SMS text message to my landline which is ex-directory with a really sick joke about Michael Jackson's death. Someone needs to do something about these people.

Received a call from 8456021111 at 5:14pm, on Monday 20th July 2009. This number was given on my phone after I dialled 1471 to identify number. Called back number to see who the caller was, dialing number without any "0" in front of 845 and got through to some guy. I said "you just tried to call me so I'm returning your call".  He sounded confused.  I said "Are you 845602111?". He said "sorry mate, this number doesn't exist".  I said it does as my answerphone picked it up. He replied "it can't do, I mean 845 and ending in 1111." I repeated it does because I've just dialled it and I've got through to you. He then replied "oh, alright mate" and then hung up.  It left me feeling very suspicious that my phone was vulnerable to some kind of scam...

Hi, I got a call from this number it was from Clarks Shoes and it said (the automated voice) that my shoes are ready for collection

Had loads of calls from this - called it back as people suggested on here (that it may be a txt message) and had a load of talking in Japanese! Will not be answering it again or calling it back

Thanks. As has been posted the number is a BT VOICED TEXT MESSAGE which will call a number of times unless answered. I've recently moved from BT to TalkTalk and hence the confusion: TalkTalk (for some unknown reason) drops the 0 prefix which makes the number unrecognisable from caller ID, 1471, etc.

Someone recommends dialling an 0800 number to have these calls barred, but then how would you receive text messages to your landline?

Absolute joke!!.. had 5-6 calls in last 3 hours from these clowns. pressed 1471 then 3 and the numpty on the other end tells me my sky broadband is now active-something i knew 2 days ago when sky switched me on!
 Don't worry it seems to be a sms service although a pain in the [***]!!

Dialled 1471 and then pressed 3 to retrieve my message, chuckling at the way the automated voice tries to pronounce welsh words!!

Don't panic about this number guys, it's what happens when someone sends a text to your landline is all.  And for those people gettig calls at 2.00 in the morning, send a text to all your mates and tell them to stop drunken text dialling after a night out!

Hi there , Its an alright service! We too were persistantly called at 10 pm going on till a quarter too eleven.Tracing the caller it transpires that it was my son sending me a message R.U.O.K Paul.Bless him ,he too was obviously frustrated at phoning through in the daytime and not getting a reply.We have a habit of being out a doing things.

It is just a BT text message number - someone has sent you a text message. To hear it just dial 08456021111! The post on page one even gives you the details on how to call and change the timings that it can contact you.

People, please don't be lazy/stupid - take the time to read what infomation others have written on the subject before posting your sob stories about how this woke you up at 10pm and your worried that it might be the CIA trying to get information out of you because you have a three legged cat. No one care - just read the damn thread!

have had a few calls from this number as a text. phoning at early in the morning and message isnt very clear but says aomething bout being a lazy slag. very unhappy about such calls and want it to stop !

They said it was an emergency and for me to ring a  02..number they gave me. For obvious reasons ive not rung.

Received a call from the 'SMS Text Store from BT' it was a text voicemail. "I wrote your name in the sky but the wind blew it away, yada yada"

It was held on 08456021111 which I foolishly called back trying to find out who sent it. I suspect its just a scam, they send you a daft but intriguing SMS message and you call back (and probably get charged) when trying to find out where it came from as I didn't recognise the accompanying phone number.

I am ex-directory so quite where they got my number from I don't know.

Why these people are allowed to send unsolicited text messages I don't know.

i answered the phone when this number called... and it said i have received a text message saying... please dont call me.. Well i hadnt called you nor would like you to call back!
