This is the first time I have received a call from this number.  They hung up right after I said hello.

Actually I find masturbating sounds help against male callers. If they call you and you are obscene...it's not illegal! Or even resort to getting off with them on the phone....trust me they drop away pretty quick after that.

THis number has called my cell 6 times in the last 9 hours! I refuse to answer and no message is left!

Calls 5-6 times a day every 2-3 days. Call between 7 am and 10 pm!  Never leaves a message. No one was there the one time I did answer. I don't have a citi account and all of my bills are current. How are these people? Very annoying!

called my house and cell numbers several times and they just hang up when I answer.  why are they spending all the time and money making the calls if they won't talk to you when you answer.  no wonder citibank needs to go up on rates if that is who it is - stock holders need to know about all the waste.

Allie and others - I suggest you make a log of the phone calls - especially any made before 8 am and after 9 pm.  File a complaint and maybe a lawsuit - maybe a class action suit if we all keep logs and get together with the evidence - that may stop the calls.  My caller ID says that the calls come Kentucky and if it is Citibank, we know that they may be routed through Kentucky but actually are from overseas, India, Phillipines, etc. if you can get them to tell you where they are.  I try to always ask where anyone is located whether they call me or I call them.  I also insist on asking for a person that speaks American, not just English.  Try it, you will be surprised that you get no where.  They don't have anyone or won't get anyone for you.

The number calls several times a day and sometimes leaves a message saying it is citibank but if I call the number back P90X answers. My girlfriend got similar calls from a different number and found out it was a scam that asks you to confirm personal information. They already know most of your information name address account numbers they are just trying to get your ccv number so they can use your card.

I just spent 20 minutes calling back this number and pressing zero repeatedly.  I was hung up on 3x before I spoke to someone. They claim they are CitiBank but I have never heard of any legit company asking for your social security number.  I say SCAM!

You can call your phone company and have them block the number.

Called today rang once. No message.

We have been receiving calls from this number for months. They never leave a message. If you do a search for this number on  411.com, it says that's it's a cell phone.  So that means that it's definitely not Citibank calling.

Receiving 2-4 calls/day, ongoing now for approx 6 months.  Making my case more of an enigma was local VZ phone co. mistakenly cutting service to my voice line, vs data, as equipment was upgraded. Having need for immediate phone svs, they issued a new number (we ensure it is non-published for professional reasons).  Oddly enough, this entity is once again calling.  I have had one Citi account in my life, and it was closed, by me, over three years ago (paid in full); and with a constant credit score over 800, cannot imagine what collective or delinquent efforts they'd be pursuing with me.  I well versed in lawsuit tactics, and the call coming into our homes is only logged if we answer, or a VM system answers; the PC generated dial & tracking system records it as "attempt to collect a debt, account owner refuses cooperation and terminated call."  This tactic is for the sole purpose of collecting substantial "evidence" to use in a bankruptcy court, OR, to use if they sue you for "breach of contract, while willfully and knowingly using credit for personal gain, without intention of repaying."  The latter appears to be on the rise, as they simply adjudicate the suit to the municipal court in which you geographically are nearest.  Citi or not Citi, it has more than encroached on my privacy, and is furiously disruptive to family life.  A telephone is a luxury that I elect to purchase for my benefit of communicating, with whom, and when, I the account owner, desire. Lack of recourse to harassing incoming calls is something our phone companies need to grant us control over as well. Note: do not reply and tell me my phone co. will block the number; well researched, they DO NOT block any toll-free, unavailable, or unknown caller numbers.  Of course, this is why we're all posting and responding, besides the obvious, feeling better you are not alone in this phone ambiguity, it helps to disarm the rage and reaction these annoyances can and do evoke!

Have gotten 5 calls today...I did not answer because I did not recognize the number.  No one has ever left a message.

OMG this is so annoying i got a recording then somebody said "hello hello?" then i said " may i ask who this is?" and then the call was lost! :o sooo annoying like 2-3 calls a day!!

caller id shows florence, ky, leaves no message, so it must not be important, just annoying
