This is NOT Citibank.  I called the number on the back of my card and spoke to an account specialist, who verified both that 1. Citibank has not tried to call me since July 29, almost two months ago, and 2. (859) 283-8071 is not in their list of phone numbers at all!  For Citibank's part, they didn't seem too upset/concerned about the harassment, though I told them to please report the number to their fraud department.  As for getting the calls and VMs to stop, I don't know if there is an answer besides never picking up so they eventually give up.

A scam outfit trying to get personal information.  Of course I'm on the "no-call" list, but the government is also too busy trying to steal all the money it can from honest people, so this list is meaningless.   Blocking the call is the only solution.

PS:  whocallsme should add "criminal scam" to the list of call types.

I don't have a citi card or AT&T universal card and these people have been calling every hour and hanging up on me. So I called the Citicard general information line and they are looking into it and having the calls stopped for me. Supposedly they have my number in their system but it is associated with someone else. The general number is 1-800-950-5114 if you want to call and find it what's going on.

After calling the Citicard info number the 859-283-8071 number called and there was actually someone there asking for someone I've never heard of and she said they would remove my number. So it's worth a try if they call a lot.

Receive a call from them every single day, with the same 40 second message. If I pick up it is still the same recording. Very annoying. Obvious complete scam.

This number belong to Citi Card when a bill account is passed due but they dont leave messages in mailboxes. That's why they keep calling several time untill they get the payment.

This started about a week ago and we answered the first time and no one talked.  We get approximately two calls a day from this number.  We do not answer and no one leaves a message.

this is bigest  crime group.  pls dont pick up private call ans loan call and cridit card  call and also 911 he used every number. pls dont answer and change  phone  number only.

Its not a scam
It is Citi credit cards.
It the collection department.
Like stated previously if you receive a call from this number you are over your limit or your payment is serioulsy over due.

It is the citi card collection department.
And if you do not have a citi card you should call them and resolve what ever issue there is.
It is possible someone has stolen you ID and opened an account under your name.

I received a call because a payment I made but did not receive credit on my account which made it past due.
I called the exact number and they quickly resolved the problem.

Calls all day long, pick up no one there!! you talk then it hangs up called Citibank to report it she filled my complaint will see if it stops. WE dont have an account with them!!!

How do get it to stop if you dont have an account with them???

They are calling for a guy name smally and keep asking for a social security number.

this person has called my cell phone 10 times. Please check into it.

This number has called me every day at 1:45 pm and left the same message to call them back. Each time i try the recording answers and demands my account number before i can do anything else. I don't even have an account with whoever this is calling and I am really sick of having to delete a voicemail from them every single day. Today i actually answered and the same recording answered back! It never gave me a chance to talk to a person. I don't know why they are calling but I want it stopped now.

This is a total scam. They keep calling on a google voice number that I only use for the internet. It's not listed on anything personal, it doesn't have my name on it anywhere. I've never had a citi card (not even a gas card, which many are backed by citi), i've never had a citi bank account (personally, I hate citibank and would never use them for anything).

fortunately, google voice allows you to block numbers where they get a message saying 'number you called is not in service).. this particular number was going directly into google voice spam folder (so obviously google knows is a scam).. now that I've blocked the number completely, It won't even go in there.

more proof it's a scam.. since they're calling on a google voice number, and not my landline which is used for everything I do including banking.. and is unlisted with my name and address right in the phone book.. what more proof does anyone need?

This number calls me almost every day. Sometimes they leave a message sometimes not. Something about a Citibank account. I do not have a citi bank credit card. I ignore every call, just gets annoying since it is every day.
