- sharon replies to JanI agree because I got this call with no message 2 times today and I do not have a Citibank card at all.
- AgiI get calls from this number several times a day, yesterday they called me every hour, today every 1/2 an our. I do not know anybody in Kentucky. They never live a message unless they can talk to me, and I will not answer to a number coming from a state where I know nobody. Best thing to do, I just blocked this number.
- DeanI called it back, it is a Citibank recording. I can't have a late payment if I don't have an account with them. Most likely a scam.
- Caller: Citibank
- LI called back this number and it's recorded message saying:" welcome to Citibank cards" please type your 16 digit account number". The thing is I don't have a Citibank card!
Becareful! - Enough is enough4 years of this [***] scammer. The calls don't stop. They call every morning at 8 am, then several times throughout the day. How are they still operating? FBI can't do anything? WTF!!!
- Caller: Citi-Scam
- AnonWas called by them twice and left no message. Called back and the recording said it was Citicards and something with AT&T, two companies I have no affiliation with. This has scam written all over it.
- Caller: Citicards, AT&T
- unknownI've worked for this company from the Florence site. This is not a Scam number.
I was in the Collections department so let me explain.
1. It is in Kentucky, Not India. Citi believes in Diversity so you may speak to people whom have an accent.
2. The collections department does not leave messages before a certain time.
3. They are able to call you on every # they have listed on an acct up to 6 (if I remember correctly) times a day .
4. When you pick up and noone answers , its they're automated dialer. Yes , its an inconvenice and they were working on it when I left.
Helpful hints
*If you tell them they have the wrong number , they may ask you to verify the last 4 digits of the number, once you do, the number will be removed , it may take up to 48 hrs.
* If you do have an acct, but are nervous about it being a Scam , after you have verified your name , ask the rrep to go over some of your recent charges to ensure they match up.
Please keep in mind A lot of these people get screamed at on the daily bases or get told heart breaking stories and they're just doing they're job to feed their families. - trainoSo for 2 years now i have gotten calls from these people off and on. Some girl named Jenifer keeps giving them my phone #. They call day and night. And last time I tried to call back it asked for a cc #which I don't have and never had and if you try to just get to an operator it hangs up on you. This time I looked up the phone number on this web sight and someone else had this # 18009505114 that goes to their customer service line. I talked to the customer service representative and told her my situation and she tried to tell me that they could only look up my info via a cc # or my social security #. I told her no and asked for a manager. So the manager came on and once again I explained myself. Thankfully she went in and took my number out of their system. I was told that it will be updated by midnight tonight... so she will see. If now I will be threatening a harassment suit because I have no businesses with them. And I will post back up here if they continue. Like I said earlier this has happened more than once the in 2 years and they keep getting my #looking for someone else.

- Caller: ???
- AD ATWILLJust called and no message. Phone disconnected!
- NCGHangs up. No message.
- Late on Citibank replies to JanWell, it's 2015, I'm late on my Citibank payment & after not answering their calls from a 1-800 number I'm now getting calls from this one. So I'm pretty sure it's really Citibank, considering.
- Nicole Ewing-SmithHave received numerous calls from this number. Caller does not speak and after a moment call is disconnected. Have read comments from others saying this is a Citibank representative but we do not have a Citibank card.
- itsetsufreeBeware if you see a comment on here saying, "It's not a scam. It's Citibank. You're over your limit and payment is due." because those comments are posted by the exact same people who are making all the calls! The scammers have an internet connection just like you and post on these boards KNOWING that you'll probably search out their number and read these comments. It'll get you to second guess the calls or believe you ARE past due because MOST PEOPLE have an account or card somehow affiliated with Citibank. Last go-round they used the name "Shell". Next time it will probably be "Visa". The calls originate from overseas and are forwarded (known as "call spoofing") to a U.S. area code and then misrepresented (easy to do) as a KY number on a caller ID. That's why when you call it back you find out it isn't even a real phone number. Even if it does by chance turn out to be real and someone answers it, they see YOUR real number on their caller ID and now have confirmation that you are paying attention. Normally if they use a real phone number to call you they won't answer when you try to return the call, but instead set up a fake answering machine message using whatever the current company name they're scamming with to further advance their plan. Also even if they know some of your payment or personal account information (background and credit checks are easy to get on the internet for free or very cheap with only knowing your name, address or phone number. Ask your employer or insurance company if you don't believe that) , do NOT give them any additional info about yourself whatsoever but instead demand to be removed from their list immediately and inform them they have 30 days according to law to comply or you can file charges. Tell them, "I hearby notify you according to United States FCC LAW to immediately remove my phone number from your list or face penalties within 30 days when I file a complaint against you for using phone lines for spoofing your real phone number which is a federal crime. You will not be warned again. You have 30 days." and then hang up. (Not speaking to you when you answer the phone is another tactic they use to eventually make you mad enough that when they call for the 50th time and finally do speak, they are sure to have your attention. But say the suggested sentences anyway as they are still on the line and will hear you.)
If they won't remove your number and keep calling back, pick it up then immediately hang up EVERY TIME. Or let your machine get it but pay no attention to any message they leave. The calls will stop within a few days when they have to move on to more lucrative possibilities instead of continuing to waste their time every day on getting the cold shoulder from you. This is their bread and butter after all, so if you stick to your guns they'll choose another possible victim to scam who doesn't recognize their phone number. BUT IF YOU KEEP speaking to them, getting angry, making threats, they'll keep calling for weeks to try to break you down. Don't do it. Keep your cool and hang up, or push a number repetitively in their ear 20 times and then hang up. Or take the phone off the hook for a while (shut off cell phone). Whatever, after you've warned them once , never again give them the satisfaction of having a conversation with you.
If you have call blocker with your caller ID service on your phone, use it. Here's a link explaining how:

P.S. Anytime I get a telemarketing, unknown or scamming call I give them the Good News, aka "The Gospel Message". I report all scammers regardless, as they should have to face the legal consequences for breaking the law in what they've already done AND/OR have attempted to do. But they also need to first and foremost stop stealing: turn from their dark ways and put their faith in the True One, having a real heart change to bring about a lasting "new leaf"; born again better, if you will. Normally they just hang up on ME and never call back. That's par for the course, as most of these evil-doers will run fast in the opposite direction of the Truth and the Light in order to stay hidden so that they can revel in the cover of darkness and lies and continue in their thieving ways, choosing rather to love themselves above everyone else as well as the One Who gave them this life to live in the first place! Hopefully they'll see the problem with walking a dark path at night before they fall in a 6 foot hole in the ground and it's too late.
So I warn them once with a message taken from this:

This page has a few audio recordings by Mark Spence demonstrating how he gives the gospel to telemarketers the way our Savior taught, if you're interested in learning how to do it:

- DonnaI am filing a harassing complaint. The calls are for my adult son that has repeatedly told them he cannot pay any bills until he finds a job that his unemployment ran out. I am the mother and harassed daily in my home for the phone I pay for. They refuse to stop calling despite advising that I am sick and this is harassing and that when I finally fall asleep they wake me up. I am having the phone company and federal trade commission force the caller to stop harassing me.
