This is so weird! After reading all the messages I am totally confused. I have Sprint and an I-Phone 4 and my family has a magic jack in my country with an US area code, for me, a local number, in other words it shows in my contacts as "mom´s phone".
Last week she called me, but instead of showing her number and contact as usual, 865 6696 appeared as unknown. Of course I could talk to my family normally, but I can´t figure out how that number showed up instead...
What is going on!!!???

I got a call from this number yesterday telling me i was in the drawing to win 100,000,000 dollars. The lady also said they were going to mail me a watch and some magazines. At the end of it all she wanted me to pay for the magazines and told me
It would come out to about 17 dollars per month. I told her no thanks and I hung up. I haven't gotten any texts from this number but just remember, nothing in this world is free

I have a Iphone 4S on Sprint (had it for four days now) and I received three calls from this number. I answered and they asked for me (first & last name). I told them they had the wrong number and they hung up. My husband (has an Android phone) does not receive calls from this number. I don't have any debt. Not sure who or what they want just wish they would leave me alone!

It is someone calling from an unknown number. That is what it spells with the keyboard. It only happens to sprint numbers, and it isn't one person in particular, but numerous different people. Chances are its a spam/prank call

got a call from this number stating that due to theft and fraud my credit card was deactivated and I should press 1 to reactivate it.  The name of the bank was garbled and it sounded phony.  I added it to my reject list on my cell.

I, too, have recently aquired an Iphone 4s from Sprint and am receiving as many as 6 calls per day.  When I answer, I receive a message stating that Sprint has discontinued voice command.  I have been with Sprint for 15yrs and have never had voice command.  I have contacted them and they cannot find a reason for the calls.  According to them it is not one of their numbers.  I explained that from what I had read it seems to be happening only to Iphones on their system and was told to contact an Apple store, since it must be a problem on their end. I live in Kitty Hawk, NC, so the nearest Apple store is about 60 miles away.  I have added a silent finger to my collection of ringers and have assigned it to the number in question which takes care of the ringing but not the calls.  They still keep coming.

I have been receiving a few calls from this number so I decided to answer. The lady said she spoke to me last week and needed me to verify my date of birth. When I asked her what company she was with she said she would give me more info after I verified who I was. Being that my IQ is over 10,  I told her why would I give her any info about me without knowing who she was, I told her to have a good day & hung up.

This number is spam. It calls me at least 2 to 3 times a day. I use Mr. Number to block it.

Is it really? I got a call from this last night and one this morning, then called back and said the code was wrong or the number was wrong...yikes, I don't know anyone who should be in jail!

I have received three calls from this number since 8:15 this morning I receive several calls a day this is too much. I work days and this number is calling me as I am working non stop every hour. And it appears as a unknown call

They say they are from windows Microsoft and I have a virus.  speak with accent and can use obscenities when provoked.   Call repeatedly.

I got a call today.  No area code appeared so I called back thinking it was local.   Got the sound of a fax.  I also have I phone 4s with Sprint.

I put Youmail on my Iphone and when the call came in the message informed the caller that their number had to be unblocked in order for me to take the call.  
Sure enough, they called right back and the number belongs to some kind of software packaging company.  The number is 650-283-7440 and is registered to a Scot Herscher.  I would answer in the past and recieve no answer on the other side, just clicking sounds.  As of today, I have been recieving calls from 8656696 for over 5 months and funny thing is they are calling right this minute!

I get calls from this number at least once a day.  Twice if I do not answer.  They keep calling no matter how many times I ask them to stop.  When I try to return the call it tells me the number is not valid.

This number calls all hours day and night, it called at 230 am as usual they say nothing.... Can't find out who this number belongs to.

I get this call 3 or more times a day I like to block it, report it, or better find A way to stop receiving these stupid calls. Very annoying...

This number is f^*%ing annoying

This phone number belongs to Midland Credit Management (debt collection agency) out of San Diego, CA.  Chances are if you defaulted on a Citibank credit card you once had, this is them blowing up your phone.  The problem is, an area code does not display.  After a little digging, I found area code 619.  When I called the number using this area code, it went to an automated message that sounds very similar to the one they leave.  For what's it worth, I added this as well as 800 and 888 prefixes to my blocked numbers.
