I just called Fido's customer service (1-888-481-3436).  The rep confirmed that it is Fido's affiliate who is calling.  She offered to take me off of Fido's Marketing list.  The interesting thing is that she then asked if I would like to be taken off ALL of their marketing lists (ie. email, sms, etc.).  Of course, I said "yes"!

It sounds like they have a list for each form of communication (email, sms, and phone).  Be sure to request to be taken off all their lists!

I am getting these calls also.as well as rgh managment(timeshare)the brick,canadian bond,fido calling saying they are looking for someone else.fido says that I am now over my minutes and I have only had the phone 2 weeks.They will not supply me with a list of calls for me to dispute until the first billing schedule which puts me past the 30 day return policy .how convenient!f*** them,its going back today.

I agree with your idea of option b, however I have unlimited incoming so they will never be able to drain my mins. When I see numbers like this calling I just dump the call to voicemail and they never leave a message. One day I'll have some fun with them... and put them on hold.

Calls from 1 866 301 5302 started coming into my British Columbia Fido phone once daily; then increased to 2x per day. I never pick them up but they're really a drag coming in on Call Waiting, always during daytime call hours. There's no clear evidence of messages left.

Today after learning about the trashy history behind this call program I contacted Fido Customer Support at 1-888-481-3486. FUN FUN FUN! ... WHILE SHE HAD ME ON HOLD on my land line, this number called in again on my Fido line!

The Fido CSR told me she'd never heard of this tel # or issue, but was eager to assist - she looked at my minutes, suggested I view my Fido time billings for related call or LD minutes, and set up an 'internal promotions block' through her system and gave me the toll-free Tel # for the National DNC list. I've added my cell # to DNC list but doubt it'll help - since the DNC list 'excludes companies with whom you have an existing business relationship'. This seemed like progress, but clearly, upper management at Fido is well aware of this bugaboo, and they don't give a damn.

If this call hasn't ceased after 30 days, it'll be time to escalate the fight via Market Watch or something similar. Any tips appreciated ...

Call the number back and follow the prompts to remove your number from their calling list.

I'm also receiving at least twice a day a phone call on my fido cell phone... today music was planning as if I was put on hold! the other times it was like I was receiving a fax...

i've been getting calls from this number several times a day for the past week.  i never answer it.  i figured if the call was important, they would leave a message but i had a feeling it's some kind of scam or telemarketer

Ok.  What i do with these spam calls is save it to my phone book as spam.  That way I don't have to pick up the phone.
