- Rod| 1 replyHey Stoker. Answering even when they do call won't do you any good. As soon as you answer, the call is disconnected. If you call back, you get a recording as to who they are (TRG) and inviting you to put your number on "their" Do Not Call List. Unless you do that or go to their website and make the request, you will keep getting the annoying calls. Even going on their list, you will still get calls for about a week. Would suggest that you and everyone else go to CRTC's and add your numbers to the National Do Not Call list. Calls still won't stop immediately but if you are on the NDNC list, these companies can be fined big money if they keep calling you after a date given to you by the CRTC.
Shysty. Would suggest you do the same. - Hdiddy| 4 repliesDont get mad at this company for calling you. They have been requested to do so by the companies you subscribe to, such as RBC. Its market research and they just want to do a questionaire. You have a few options, none of which are to continue complaining about getting phone calls if you arent going to do anything about it. Until you tell them to stop, its completely legal for them to continue calling you. So either, call them and get taken off their call list or you can call the Do Not Call Registry. Either way, stop complaining like you have some divine right to not be disturbed on your cellphone.
- MarkI am already on a Don't Call List. I got a call from 1-877-289-5108 today months after I joined the Don't Call. They didn't say anything. People like this should be stood in a court yard and be stoned with the phones they've been calling to harrass people. Maybe a few nice heavy brass phones thrown at about 50 miles an hour hitting these brain deads upside the head would smarten them up.
- GI've been on Canada's National Do No Call List since the week it was introduced, and it hasn't stopped these people from contacting me! Two months later, I got a call from this number.
- Chris| 1 replyJust call them back, it's a recording that gives you the opportunity to remove your number. simple.
- GuyThese jerks called several times and I am registered on the do not call list so I lodged a complaint with the CRTC. They also hang up which can be construed as harassing. But first, before I called the CRTC, I messed with them. I got their answering machine with the thing saying to enter your phone number if you don't want to be registered. I quickly started to enter a million numbers. I just kept at it for the longest time. The automated voice couldn't keep up with me...kept saying you have entered.four.four.four. I read some place that if you do this it will crash their system. Me bad.
- GuyBy the way, I have told RBC at least 15 times to take me off their list. I even called their main branch in Toronto and spoke with the person in charge of this. That is why I have a strong case with the CRTC on this one. I have gone above and beyond. I am not allowed to turn off my phone because of my employment. If they cannot handle something as simple as a do not call list, it makes you wonder how well they handle your financial account.
- BiS1. If you have any iphone, download "iblacklist" or "Mccleaner", call forward your home phone to your cell, blacklist all these telemarketer numbers, then you won't be bothered.
2. Buy Panasonic KX-TGA series 6.0 DECT home phone that comes with caller ID blocking feature, enter all those numbers, then you won't be bothered. - BiSIf you are using Shaw digital phone, they have selective call blocking feature included with their digital phone lite package. it allows you to block 32 selected numbers. If you buy the Panasonic KX-TGA series, then you'll be invincible from all those telemarket. Shaw digital phone lite package only cost you $30 a month + $70 Panasonic 6.0 DECT phone
This should hlep all of you. - In TorontoI don't know who these people are. But I just got a call from them about an hour ago. I picked up, someone spoke to me. He said there was a bomb in my house and then hung up. The government needs to take action and shut these people down.
- Had EnoughThis number shows up on my cell phone constantly every day. I am tired of it and I would like it to stop. Someone always talks back to me when I say "hello?" but they sound more like an answering machine. I usually just hang up or tell them I don't accept calls from 1-8 numbers but obviously that hasn't worked. The machine person says they are from RBC Royal Bank and are doing a customer appreciation survey. What a joke!! Like any sane person would give their personal information to some stranger on the phone.
- Caller: RBC Royal Bank
- TammyI get calls from this number every day but never answer it.
- Really MadThis number constantly phones me and I am tired of it. It needs to stop. When I phone them back it asks me to press one or two but I won't because then they will have all my information from my phone. Sure sounds like a huge scam to me. These people have nothing better to do but harrass people who have real jobs.
- Geraldo, ILCanada is run by a few few foreign intellegence agencies (outsourced). They collect informations on canadians and keep canadians and their motives under check/control. Even our financial information is kept off canadian land for safe keeping.
Got the message!!!!!!!!!!!! - marthaI used to get calls from that number. All I do is, push the speakerphone button and I don't say anything. Sometimes I let my cat purr into the receiver. I do that with all the 1-800 #'s. I hardly get any calls anymore now. I guess nobody wants to talk to my cats.
- sunnyrainbowi have been receiving calls from this number, tried looking it up and got this site. This is obviously a problem for many. i make it a habit not to answer calls from numbers i don't recongnize. oh yeah, mine has been on my cell phone. any others?
- jayeThis is NOT RBC, this is in fact a company that rbc has decided to give its client list to so they can call and harass rbc customers about insurance offers. I spoke to a woman directly and she stated that it was a company calling on behalf of RBC. Nothing to do with visa or collections, as has been reported on some sites. I urge all rbc clients to complain to there branches about our private numbers being handed out to telemarketing companies!!! What happened to the privacy act?
- wolfeThis number must be a hoax.
- Caller: shaw digital phone
- Papa WoodyThe display on my phone had this #, since I didn't recognize it, I didn't answer. Google led me here. The only company I've given my cell# to is RBC for contact info. I'm pissed they gave my personal cell# to a marketing research company. I HATE TELEMARKETERS.
- KrimDefinately a scam to do with Royal Bank.. I am with Royal Bank and changed my phone no. through them months ago (it was my cell, but changed to a land line) and all of a sudden I'm getting 2-3 calls a week from that number on my cell. There is an RBC scam going on right now that I heard about, they ask you for your security no. they already have the rest of your details, if you have a creditcard, then bam! You have a flight charge on your card for a trip to Dubai!!
