i just got this call to its weird...but not all telephone calls from telemarketers are bad..calls for charities or fund raisers are not bad. because not all of them just want your credit card information some will send out invoices where you can pay it at the bank or give you the option of sending it back in a return envelope that they provide you. the envelope usually comes with authorized and legit campaign logos on the envelopes along with a thank you letter signed by the head of the origanization and those one's are not bad at all...ive never had a bad experiance with them. Such as the Canadian Legion...Fire Cheifs...Police association...Crime Stoppers...campaigns like that they are all worthy causes to support and there is too many bad news being given out yes there are scams which makes it hard for the legit telemarketers to collect their donations its just easier to do it over the phone that way tons of people to show up at the organizations to say hey heres my pledge...it gets hectic

calls from local community fundraisers do not follow the do not call list because it is a fund raiser they are allowed to call anyone and everyone even if they are on the do not call list

But i have no idea who this is that keeps calling from this number but whatever i just ignore it

its rbc bank (mine) probably about a new credit card thing

I answered it live and they had my resume. Offering to set up an interview in Toronto for  a sales job with Rog

877-289-5108 keeps calling. Please tell them to stop!!!!!!

OMG - these guys are so persistent, thank you for the info everyone. I'm about to put my name and number on the CRTC's do not call list.

Since when is it my responsibility to have to do something every time one of these idiot companies decides they can call me.   The mere fact I have a phone doesn't mean I signed up for a part time job handling every telemarkteter that wants to call my number.  As for the so called "Do Not Call" registry - are you guys for real - all that does is give contact info to someone in another country which they can use without reprisal as Canadian laws don'tr reach them.

I got one call from them and when I called back I got the message for tgr customer solutions, some [***] like that went to the website, did the no call thingy and now I get hammered 4-5 times a day from these [***] [***].

I did the no call thing about 2 months ago and now it's even worse. Just found out that I can contact my provider and they will block them for me. Give that a try! I've done it for dozens and it's working great so far!

Just call back, hit 1 button and then trg solutions voice msg comes on telling you to enter your phone n umber to be removed from the list.

This is a universal solution for all marketing/annoying comp's calling you.

Oh crap just read msg before mine, hope that doesn't happen to me now! Calling your provider to block the number is a good idea

I just got a call from 202 -289-9898, did not answer it, and looked it up. Thank God for this forum! Thanks for everyone's posts! Not sure how they got my mobile number though...also, I've gotten a few other calls like this lately too. Be careful everyone!

been getting calls from this number for a while. finally answered it and it was a lady with a southern accent calling from "RBC" asking about my banking... the phone like was heavy static.... i told her to never call me again... but they called me the next day.....

I got this call saying they were from RBC Royal Bank Visa, selling a credit rating and protection package for $17.99 per month but first month free. He did not have much to say after I suggested that all of this he is offeriing is free info otherwise, so what kind of scam is this? Hang up when you here the click, or better yet just don't answer. DO NOT REGISTER on the DO NOT CALL LIST either, because I think this is where they got my unlisted number.

I would guess that this comes from RBC. I constantly tell them that I do not want their insurance and they constantly call back. I have answered this the last couple times and no one responds to my hello and then the call disconnects - they hang up, the signal isn't lost. RBC is the biggest pain in my ass.

I called back and removed my number but they still call...

I've been getting calls from this number late in the evening. If I don't know the number, I don't answer. If it is important that is what voicemail is for. Who the pft are these yahoo's??

I got a call from 202-289-9898-- no one left a voice message, I looked up the number and there are 2 listings, TRG and RBC ??? same address : 1700 pennsylvania ave.
sounds like some kind of scammers?
I recently posted my resume as "searchable only to direct employers" on the web, I am being bombarded by text, vm from STAFFING services, : (  
might be somehow connected ?
