Definitely legit. They called and I called back without waiting for a case number to verify. The guy was quick and to the point. They were legit purchases, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Interesting...when I dialed the number the automated response asked for my debit card number to be punched into the pad, which I thought to be strange before talking to any rep. I was skeptical, so I hung up.

I didn't call the number directly.  I called 800-BANK-BBT.  They said the 0506 number is a number in the fraud department and then transferred me there.  I'm not sure why they thought wordpress was a suspicious charge, but they did.  If I'm getting scammed at this point, someone's doing a damn good job.  BANK-BBT did ask for an SS# or account number.  I'm not sure if the 0506 number would have.  I've been with this bank for 20 years.

This may be a number at BB&T but, if so, why would they call a non-customer who has no business with them??  In the best possible light, it's a marketing call.  My bank is very effective at identifying unusual or suspect transactions.  What possible reason would BB&T have to contact me??  If this number in fact belongs to BB&T, I believe their motives are suspect.

This is a scam for a cruise.  When you call back, they track your number and KEEP CALLING.  I just blocked them.

Why would you not just call your local bank to verify if this is them or not.  Duh....common sense.

1-877-577-0506 is NOT from BB&T. I called the 800 number to verify, she put me on hold, checked, and said emphatically it was not them and that nothing false occurred on our account.

This is not a legal number. Do not give any information. When it connects to the operator it clicks off. Repeart do not give any information. Call the BB&T on the back of your bank card and cancel your card.

This is a valid number 877-557-0506. The number you dialed is  577 that's a wrong number. As well people do call the wrong numbers sometimes in response to the non-BBT client above. Numbers change and miss-type happen. But always contact you local branch or the customer service number to verify. When you card gets block by them you will realize they are real enough

Why would you say this? It's obvious it's a real number for BB&T fraud dept.. I checked with BB&T. Look at all the comments from other people that verify that it's real. Sounds like you are making this up for some reason.

I can verify that it is BB&T fraud monitoring as well.  They called several times until I returned their call.

Yes 577 is not bb&t but the number we are talking about that is legit is 877-557.

Got a message from 877 557 0506 on cell phone given a strange name and a case no.  referral asking us to call back concerning potential fraud of debit card.   Dont even bank w/  BB&%.  So I thought someone may have used our cell phone for illicit purpose!   Called the no.,  it asked for Birth year but allowing option to hit 0 for a person.  Did so, a live person came on and asked for my name,  etc.... Refused to give out info instead telling her that I call concerning case # left on the message..  The person is not interested in even asking for case no....   I thanked her and hang up.  Called up the local BB&T and asked if this is the true BB&T fraud line.   The lady named Donna said that she could not verified this because she only use internal no. to contact different departments..... and asked for my last name, etc... Again, I refuse to give out name and ik and just told her that I thought I do the bank a favor by getting back and have them verify the case no.   Again, no interest in case no. left on message, either!   So, it sound like it is a marketing gimmick of some kind at best... or worse,  so beware...

BB&T Fraud line if true, should have their no.  avail. at the local branches for verification.....  In this case,  It is NOT able to verify by a local BB&T branch!

Definitely BBT. Saved me from losing thousands of dollars to a crook in Nebraska and one in France!

I got a call at 8:29pm, called back the number...they said someone tried to use my depit card at a food store a few states away, now will get a new card in 3-5 days
