It is likely the number is being spoofed. The sensible action is to thank the caller, disconnect and call your bank on a number you KNOW is good. That you dial for yourself.

Truist ia 1800 not 1877! This is a scam. Hang up and call trust and report

Called to say I had been charged $149 in Utah and asked if I authorized that purchase. If not, I was asked to punch 2 in my phone.  I did and they said they were transferring me to an agent … we were cut off.  I called & spoke with Ruffini from the Philippines!!!   He didn’t know of any other Truist Bank; didn’t know the headquarters of Truist.  I questioned him and did not like his answers. I hung up … SCAM!!!

Yes I just got three right in a row.

The number is real jus called Triust , SunTrust was bought out and the track fraud all day every day.

Received an sms message stating there was a charge on my debit card that knew I didn't make.  After sending a reply sms, I received another sms message directing me to call 877-557-0506 asap.  I did not call this number because it was not listed on the back of my bank card, or on truists website.  Tried making a purchase with this card and it was declined.  Recently I called the fraud protection number listed on truists website and during the call, was told if I got disconnected and needed to csll back, to use 877-557-0506.  So, this is not a scammers number.  It is legit

Sms messages and email mean that truost fraud department actually is trying to get ahold of you. In many cases that I've seen so far, there is a scam going around with the same number, I've been called 2x in 2 days from this number requesting private information yet never expired any other notification of an issue with my account. My account has been charged 3 months in a row for 29.95 and each time its been disputes and a new card issued. I just received my new card and haven't used it yet.... the call was about a pending 29.95 charge... I've also been called by my own number in the past, scammers are getting more savvy! Keep an eye on your accounts!

The phone numbers are being duplicated by scammers. Just call your bank directly when in doubt, I've been battling this for a few months now. Never verify info when someone calls you. Call your bank personally and speak with them.

This call is not truist / bb&t! They are spoofing a legitimate number, but are really a phishing scam! Do not give them any information!

The automated system claimed to be from Truist, but caller ID said  BB&T. asked if I recognized charges from a place in California for $99 however, I was suspicious. I pressed 1 for no and it put me on hold playing the Truist tune that sounds like "walking my baby back home" for 20 minutes. So I simultaneously went on line and there were no new charges. So I called Truist fraud line simultaneously and finally just put a hold on both of my ATM/ credit cards with Truist just in case. They may have gleaned some thing like verified my phone number or as Truist asks for card pin. So, its time to change those things.

I was called by this number asking if I had used my card to buy a 3.00 item and someone else answered yes on my text before I could say no. I sent a msg telling them this and they told me I could call this number 24 7 at anytime to report Truist Bank fraud.
