They have been calling non stop so I called them back finally and they asked for my phone number.  I have it to the person answering and then he asked for my credit card number.  I said I didn't know what card he was talking about and then he asked me for my social security no which I refused to give him.  I said hey you called me at this number and you don't know what you are calling about?  All my accounts are up to date so guess I will never know.  You'd think they would realize no sane person will give credit card and social security numbers to a stranger on the phone.

Seems odd they couldn't cross reference your phone number with the issue they were calling about at that very number.

I have no idea as to the identity of the caller but they call every other day at various times. They leave messages asking to call them back.  Sometimes there are calls claiming to be the IRS.

I've been getting these calls everyday for the past two weeks and I have not answered them. They say it's about a credit card issued by city. They call all hours of the day and night and the most annoying time is on my weekends especially on Sundays early in the morning. Then they give another number to call which is 1 866 609-8298.

They say they are Citi card.  I called Citi card.  They are not Citi.   They ask for your card number and social security number.   Do not give out your personal information.

This is not a scam nor a fraudulent caller.  It is Citicards and before you say "I don't have a citicard account," if you have any store or service center cards then yes, you do have a card issued by Citibank.  Merchants such as Goodyear, Care Credit, Lowe's, JC Penney, Firestone, Exxon, and many more are ALL issued by CITIBANK, it's in the fine print on the back of the card "issued by" and in the cardholder terms and agreements that most people never read.  So if this number calls you, you are either behind in payment to a card underwritten by Citibank or or there is a problem with your account.  As for the those s a lying "they don't leave a message", that's true - since phone sharing is common, financial institutions never leave messages to protect your information.  As for those saying it's a fundraiser or a hacker, you are a liar- it's that simple.

To all the morons thinking it is Citibank. It is a SPOOFED Caller ID to LOOK like Citibank. IT is SCARY to read how many people actually think this is Citibank. This is WHY scammers do what they do. Because all it takes is 1% of their victims to be idiots and think it is really Citibank and hand over their credit card info and they makes lots of money.
    • Caller: NOT Citibank

Yes..it IS a scam. They are SPOOFING the Caller ID.

My god...no WONDER scamming is so profitable. It takes just 1 gullible person like you out of 100 to fall for the caller Id and hand over your credit card info and they make lots of money. I honestly can't believe in 2016 someone would actually fall for it. So, sorry Lisa. You are wrong. OR...likely part of the scammers.

I have had two and three calls a day, 8:00 am through evening hours. I am disgusted with a company that hides their identity while harassing the one being called.

    Definitely a scam.

Contacted by this number twice a day for several days with no one on the line. When you call back, they take you through a very professional recording, claiming their citibank and asking you to key in your account number. Keep hitting 0 until you get a "middle eastern or indian" accented person on the phone who can tell you any specifics about your account balance etc. They ask you to verify the last 4 of your social, phone number, address and want a payment of $50 or $60.

The reason they can't tell me account details is that I DONT HAVE A CITIBANK CREDIT ACCOUNT!!!!!     She also tried to get me to make a payment on "their website" citionline.com which is not affiliated with the real citibank.

Call came in at 8:09 on a Sunday morning. Caller ID said "Toll Free". The message left claimed to be from Citi Bank "concerning my Citi Bank Credit Card". A different toll free number was left with the message...I didn't bother to write it down and the message has been erased.

Obviously a scam: 1) Citi Bank would be very unlikely to call on a Sunday 2) While I do have a Citi Bank CC, the number associated with it is NOT my landline

    I NEVER trust numbers I don't know so I don't answer them.

I've been getting calls from this number for a while and I never answer.  Today they left a voice mail saying they were from Citibank and to please log into a web address to www.payment.citi.com/citiclientfirst.astx "to review your account status."  They give the option of calling back this 877 number.  I don't have a Citibank account, so I checked my other cards and found that my Shell card is from Citibank.  I looked at my Shell card account on line and it is up to date. I reported it to Citibank.
