I get 4 to 5 calls per day from this number 877-587-5727.  Every time I answer it they do not say anything at all, then the phone hanges up by its self.  This has been going on for the last 3 months

    Typical Consumer
I get at least 3 calls an hour from 877-587-5727. Sometimes I get calls from this number that are two minutes apart. After the first call, I stopped answering calls from that number. The person I actually spoke to the first time was extremely rude and obnoxious when I asked what is this phone call in reference to. They have never left a message when I don't answer the phone. If this is a legitimate call, I would think that the person I speak to (if I ever speak to one) would identify themselves, their company (if applicable), verify that they are legit by answering my questions with information they already know, and state clearly and precisely what type of business they are intending to accomplish. I am happy to talk to ANYONE who has VERIFIABLE LEGITIMATE BUSINESS with me.

    no longer frustrated
Do these morons expect people with any degree of intelligence to return computer generated calls that sometimes leave a number (and sometimes don't (restricted and/or private on caller id)), and NEVER leave a message? I guess as long as they don't have to hire a living breathing human being to make these calls, they can do what they want.

Ok crazy people - it IS CITI-cards.  I called the number and reached Jason (after hitting 0 out of the prompts because I obviously didn't have an account number)  By getting angry you probably owe them money and just don't want to pay it.   I called them back and nothing came up under my number so obviously someone had just fat fingered the phone number when calling or entering info on an account.

So just because someone calls it doesn't mean everything is a SCAM

If, in fact, this is Citicards:
    1. Why do they not leave ANY SORT OF MESSAGE?
    2. When they do leave message (VERY VERY INFREQUENTLY), why do they identify themselves as EITHER CITIBANK, CITICARD, CITIGROUP, or other names?

Rebecca, wake up to reality. You think that everybody that does not pay their bills say the collection calls are all scams. While they are not ALL SCAMS, a great majority are. Also, did it ever occur to you that some honest people want to pay their bills and simply can't for obvious economic reasons? These are NOT PEOPLE THAT LIVE OUTSIDE THEIR MEANS!!! How pathetic is the economy when heads of households are forced to use credit cards to pay for food so their kids can eat? It's very difficult for me to have sympathy for a government or society that will intentionally crush people and then penalize them for not being able to stand up under the weight and pressure!
    HAVE A NICE DAY :-)

Just call the number, ignor the request to enter your account number and you will be connected with a representative. They will take you off their call list.

we got at least 6 calls this weekend and there is no way it is legit.  Have had issues with Citi before and they do not business that way. Have my mortgage and another card through Citi, called them and have no problems with any account there.  The phone reps swear that it is not a Citi number.  We just blocked the number and no more calls.

This is a 100% tel-marketing scam, DO NOT Answer the phone, if being called on your Personal cell, just add to the BLOCK LIST, also, go to

    https://esupport.fcc.gov/ccmsforms/form1088!createComplaint.action

As mentioned in the earlier comments and COMPLAINT about them, they'll be dealt with for using a fake I.D. on who they are, the more people complaint, the faster the FCC will deal with them, also it is NOT by any WAY Citibank. If you Don't own any type of account with them, don't buy into this.

They wanted to speak with me about my private label account with CitiCard. The only problem is I don't have one. Just keep this in mind. When you call a 1-800/877/888 etc number. The company that owns the number is paying the fee. Not you. Hmmmmmm. So you call and tell them your name is Ihump Urmom and that your Social is O I C U 8 1 2. The longer you keep them on the line, the more they (the company) has to pay. Do the math. 0.05 cents a minute plus $10.00 a month to have the service. The longer you keep the person on the line, the more it costs them NOT you, unless you call from your cell so don't do that. Multiplied by 10 calls a day is $0.50. Times 365 is $182.50. Now if 100 people a day call that equals out to $18,250.00. Now imagine 1,000 people in a nation of over 300 million. See what I mean. Take control of your life and stop being a victim.

I called the number back and got a recording thanking me for calling CitiCard and asking me to enter my account number. Interesting because I don't have an account with Citibank.

    Don' Scamme
Never give info to these idiots...no personal, no business information.  Never. Don't ever trust
any organization that operates under a false pretense which should be a dead giveaway....
The number they leave on your phone is a contrived and intentional misrepresentation of that
fact. If someone wants to collect from you, do business with you or otherwise contact you...WHY
should they first mislead you and fail to properly ID themselves? Think about it. It's YOUR money
    and YOUR reputation.
