I'm a reluctant member of SEIU and am PISSED that my dues are funding this BS. I am a home care worker who busts my tail every day at SEVERAL different jobs so I, for one, resent the man from page 4 who laid into Elby. Anyway, I got a call from this number at 7:40PM. Wasted my time with a dead air "message." Sounds like I migt have to print this out and attend a meeting for the first time in a year and a half with them and find out why our hours have been cut for nonfunding but they can afford these damned "surveys." What a crock. Sounds like shady business practices to me.

They call everyday and do not leave a message. It's really annoying!

I am getting a lot of call from that number.  I am an SEIU member (not by choice) and will be contacting my shop steward.  It is time for all SEIU members to send a message to the higher ups. I will post more as I procede.  Maybe we can get it stopped.

Calls every day.  Today i ansered and asked who it was.  He said his name was Michael.  I answered, Okay Michael who are you with?"  He stated he was with public opinion polls.  I advised him he was calling a "do not call" number and he stated he was "exempt"..  What a croc...

Robodialer followed by human (no machine could be so ignorant) caller who was obviously reading from a script. Caller wanted to connect me to <one of my senators> to "vote yes" on an amendment.

Details: Caller was looking for a "any registered member of the <InsertNameOfPoliticalPartyHere>." Only when I asked who the caller represented, did she reply — "SEIU." (Service Employees International Union.)

They call all the time, no messages left tonight they have called 4 time since 3:26 pm and its only 6:18pm

I just received a call from them, they asked for me by name.  I asked who was calling, they said "1199 SEIU"...I told them I was not interested in anything they had to say.  He disconnected without saying another word.

Also got a call - asking for my husband by name - I always screen his calls anyway.  The person identified himself as "Mike", then I asked what this was in reference to he hung up.  We are also on the do not call list...

But - GOOD NEWS   I recently purchased some lovely new panasonic phones that allow me to use caller id to block calls.  YES!  It rings once, then sends the caller off to busy signal land.  very nice...  I also changed my ringer, so it is very soft.  

Each time undesirable calls are zipped off into busy signal land, I will smile rather than burn with the frustration of someone using something I pay for, to annoy me.

This number keeps calling.  I DON'T KNOW WHO THEY ARE AND DON'T CARE JUST STOP!!!!! CALLING.  We do not answer toll free calls.  I too am on the do not call list, but they still get though.

I received a call from 877-888-8888 on April 19, 2011 at 4:09 PM and they left a voice mail message that was all garbled, distorted and sounded like they were also using a four letter word. I called the phone company, they googled the number and found no record of it. I then called the Federal Trade Commission and reported them.

I have received 4 calls from them.  They don't leave a message and if you call the number back, no one answers.  How do you get rid of them?

Here's a tip I tried...if you have caller id and suspect it may be a telemarketer call...turn off your answering machine and don't answer your phone.  Let it ring and ring and ring.  If the robo calls don't get a person or answering machine, it drops your number as invalid.  Be patient tho because they just change their number and try again.  Be patient and just let your phone ring.  Of course this only works if you're home and can get your answering service/machine turned off in time.  Use your caller id...after all...you pay for it.
