Report a phone call from 88588 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- RCThe FIDO customer service advised me to google 88588 onlyto find out that I am not alone. I would appreciate it if my provider could stand by me in situations such as this predicament. I am considering cutting my subscription.
- DennisWhy are you sending me these. Stop
- GerryI was charged CAD36 for these non-sense messages which I did not subscribe nor give my consent. This is thief. Can the telecom (mine is Koodo) company do anything to stop and somehow give refund?
- ScammedI just received my cell phone bill today and I was charged an extra $26 (13 premium messages at $2 each). I called Telus to ask them what these charges were and they told me it was a "service" which I apparently suscribed to which I never have. They told me someone could've entered my phone number into a website to subscribe me to it, which makes absolutely [***] because they should at at least send some type of confirmation before they start charging me without my permission. I was instructed to send back a message "STOP" which cost me even more money to do.
After reading everyone's comment on this board, I feel a bit better to see I'm not the only victim of this scam. I'm calling Telus again and will try to dispute the charges.- Caller: 88588
- FuriousFIDO customer service ALSO asked me to google 88588 and deal with them. They told me they were "not responsible" for third party text messages, despite the fact that their FAQ clearly states that ALL incoming text messages, REGARDLESS of origin are free.
- are u kidding me??I got charged for $40.00, am all I can think of is that this has to be illegal! Isn't there something we as a group can do to get our money back...if anyone knows of a way then I am in to get back what is ours.
Let's not let them get away with this robbery!- Caller: telus
- 88588I also got charged and after reading all these comments I called my phone compnay again and told them I wanted a credit, since they knew that this 3rd party had this ability to take our money. Thankfully I got a nice rep. who helped me and credited my account...so try calling your phone comapany again and tell them that they have the means to get their money back from the 3rd party and you shouldn't have to take the loss. Good Luck everyone.

- Ambica MenonI just received y bill and I have a 32.00 charge from this number. It is billed as premium Services. I do not even have text on my phone and I am not sure how I got on their list, But I have spoken to my provider FIDO. I wil text them to stop.
- GregI got caught by a different number (77277). It was in response to an online IQ test which to get the answer I needed to give my number so they could txt me the code to see my result. It worked but after this I was getting trivia txt's which I could respond to. I txted Stop to 77277, I have not recieved info telling me I was unsubscribed. I suppose my inquiry could be a contract.
Did anyone caught by 88288 give their number over the internet? - mahmoudI can not help to believe that scammers could easily take my money and billing me for their messages and with the consinment of fido, the service provider.
Could anyone help and mail to get my money back' mahmoud177@gmx.com'

OTHER OPITION : get e-mail address (not real name ) and flood them with e-mails ,replys ,and other scam [***] links that they do to us.
did this once with a company sent few hundred replys and they finaly asked me to stop and that i would not receive any more never heard from them again - L. MontsionWe had this number calling us every day for a month. We didn't answer because we didn't know who was calling us. We found out on our cell bill that virgin mobile was charging us 2.00$ a call and calling it premium text. We didn't ask for this and we don't think that we should pay for it either. I have got Virgin Mobile to refund us for $11 of the $22.oo they say we owe them. I would like you to investigate this scam. We finally answered the text and told them to cancel, stop, and they did. We still would like to know who these people are and have them reimburse us for the money lost. I am sure that the next bill will also have some crazy charges on it too.

- NikThe traps for such scams is the website likehttp://www.wixawin.com/ca/ads/movieticketpin.aspx? ... 7978.1929.10236..
where they ask u to enter for free questions for movie tickets etc etc.
They then send you a text messgae with the PIN but do not say anything about the cost.
This is a bloody scam- Caller: FIDO
