Thanks to all for the posts.  We actually attended the Global Travels presentation.  Two hour high pressure sales pitch and three stages of "closers" after you start saying no.  They gave us the promised certificates for airfare and cruise after I started getting "testy" - BUT - there are activation and other FEES attached to the certificates and you have to pay the fees fairly quickly or you lose the opportunity.  This whole thing is a come-on for money...and by the way, they had also promised a dinner for to at Chart House.  They conveniently did not have the certificates on-hand (because we didn't buy in to the program) and promised to mail them to us.  It's been 6 months:)

Wow, so glad I found this site and you all. I too received the T.J. Johnson and Associates letter and offer for a free Android. The comments everyone has posted here have answered my questions about the legitimacy of it all.  Thanks for making me feel like I am not the only person (albeit I am probably older than all of you!) that is skeptical about these types of things.

Thank you everyone for your input.  I too am in Marketing and immediately smelled scam based on the ineffective survey request.  I also have to say, I have attended sales presentations in the past for travel agencies, and have NEVER been asked to fill out a W-9 with my SSN.  I would never do so.  After talking, my husband and I decided not to do this, as either way, there is a chance to lose money big time.  If you give money for to buy the plan, they have your bank routing number.  If you fill out the W-9, they have your SSN.  The fact that your have to give them you license in the first place, makes it worse.  They would then have what they need to steel your identitiy, and possibly your money.  Stay away!  For those that have already tried this offer, I would report it immediately and invest in a company to watch your credit and identity.  (But make sure they are bonded!) There's no such thing as a free lunch!
