These people are nothing but pests.  They call and call and call night and day.  I have now blocked this  number on my Panasonic phone, and I don't intend to have them intruding in my home again.

It is the AHA.  Just call the number back and request to be put on the Do not call list.

Long pause after I  said hello,  I just waited on the line, without saying anything else, they hung up.  I called the number back and got the recording "this number has been disconnected or is no longer in service"   Annoying.

I got a call from this number at 8:23AM this morning. The lady said that she was from the American Heart Association and if I knew that heart disease was a number 1 killer, of course it is. She then said that she wasn't soliciting for donations (hhhmmmm I thought)...and if I would allow them to mail me a "KIT" of brochures that I would have to mail to homes in my neighborhood. (she even named the streets, so I knew she had my address) I would have to enclose the brochure, in an envelope, write out the envelope, supply the stamps and mail them. I said a big NO THANK YOU and as I was about to hang up, I could still hear her talking. Click!

I called it back.  It was the American Heart Association.  I told them I did not want any more calls.  They apologized and said they would definitely put my number on their no calllist.

They get a "Credit" for all completed calls. Doesn't matter if you give response or not. When the machine picks up the call the call is a completed call. When you block the number the dialer rolls to it's next good number and call you again until it goes through the hundreds of numbers some of these places have. They don't get credit if call is NOT answered at all.

    Not a Big deal
Been missing the call from this number, but seeing it quite often in the last week or two.  It is the American Heart Association looking for people to send out donation requests to their neighbors. I did this last year for the Autism Foundation and now I get these calls all the time. I called them back today and requested to be taken off the call list. They were very nice and I hope they were telling the truth and take me off their list. We'll see, but it's not like they are harassing phone calls or anything.

Been receiving calls from American Heart from 16 different phone numbers at least 6 times a day for almost a month now. I took Your advice and called them back. I ask them to remove my number, and informed them of all the harrassing calls. They told me they keep calling until someone answers. She also said they removed my number. I could only hope!!!
Call American Heart # 1-877-213-2767 to remove Your number.  GOOD LUCK!

These yahoos keep ringing the phone off the hook, every day, several times a day.  The always hangup before the answering machine  kicks in.  Being disabled, it is more than a discomfort trying to get to the caller I.D.  I hope if this is read by the FEDS, you take action against these morons by severe fines.  We do have a block on telemarketers, but has become a joke.  BIG BROTHER...do what our tax payer dollars are paying your salary to do!!!

Received numerous calls from different numbers all listed to Am. Heart Association when searched on Google. Calls show up as toll free number on caller ID.  Finally called and asked to be taken off the phone list.  They are looking for people for door to door campaign.  I will not be involved with any organization that makes annoying anonymous phone calls. They said my number would be taken off their list.   Charities are exempt from federal do not call listing.

I was also getting calls from this number, over and over again. I wasn't picking up, but it is so annoying -  had to go check to make sure it wasn't a family member who needed something each time.  Anyway, I called the number back today. No waiting.  The woman who answered was very nice, very polite. She agreed to put me on their do not call list, and apologized for any inconvenience. I hope she follows through.  I wish we didn't have to waste time responding to and complaining about this kind of call, in order to get them off our backs.  The DNC registry only addresses half the problem.  Charities, politicians, so-called survey-takers, previous business contacts, and outright criminals still stress out the average American all day, every day, in their own homes.  It's shameful, it's stupid, and needs to be fixed.

Calls several times a day. Have caller ID and answering machine. Do not answer.  No message left. I am on do not call list. So why are they calling?  If it really is the American Heart Assoc., they now have one less to donate to their caquse...very unfortunate!!

Thanks to the previous posters who mentioned that the AHA has its own DNC list.  I have been fielding 3-4 calls from them a day.  They were extremely polite and said my number was removed "immediately." I am pretty familiar with telephone-speak and my impression was that they will do what they say.

If not?  I will be back to let you know!
So give them a call -- it turns out that it is no biggie...

I understand this is the American Heart Assn.  I hope they read this.  I WILL NEVER CONTRIBUTE.  THE AHA IS ABUSIVE WITH THESE FUND RAISING CALLS.

12/18/2010 I did not answer at8:36 a.m. today, but called them back and told them to take me off the list.  She said they would--we'll see.  No call lists seem to have too many exceptions as people just keep calling.  Fines are high and we should take as many of them to court as possible.

it's probably the same people who did the exact same scam for autism. they make most of the money and the heart or autism association get next to nothing. anytime you get involved in a charity, ask them what percentage actually goes to the needy.
