These just started recently.  I have my own charities I support, however, I feel this is a scam.  I am on do not call list but I guess it does not matter to them.  Next is reporting them to the State.

Verizon-I get these calls daily from 888-355-7209-  I'm enlisted in the nocall system, but that doesn't work-if you can't manage and control this type call I'm going to cancel your service.  Maybe others will also.

This from the American Heart Association - I simply called the number and politely asked them to remove my home phone number from their database.  They said they would do so.  Ta-Dah!

Called them back and they placed me on the do not call list. Took all of 60 sec.

The Heart Assoc. keeps calling me with different numbers. We don't pick up unless someone we know leaves a message on the answering machine. Eventually, I get a packet in the mail and they want me to canvass the neighborhood in Feb. I don't even know these people on the list which is usually incorrect anayway. People come and go and many who are still here are behind on their mortgages, so no way are they going to give to charity even though it is worthwhile.

Infocision, for the American Heart Association.  I cut her off before she could give me her line of bull.  I just read an article this morning about how Infocision gets as much as 85% of what you donate.  They do marketing and fund raising calls for a bunch of organizations.  Forwarned is forearmed.

Call from 888-355-7209 American Heart Association. No message, I tracked the number down and called them and asked for my phone number to be put on their do not call list. No fuss, no muss. Hope it works.

Just got a call from 888-355-7209.  No one there, but saw it was from a toll free number and knew that they must use an automated answer.  I returned the call and the recording said it was from the "American Heart Assoc. 2011 Good Neighbor" program.  I was connected to a live person and asked to be put on their do not call list.  I also mentioned that the recording said 2011 and how could anyone take them seriously with that kind of mistake.

After three years of non stop call from charties, bill collectors for people I don't know and robo calls I have finally put an end to it. I no longer have a home phone. I now use a pay as you go phone. No one has the #. I keep it turned off except for the rare times I need to make a call.
    Problem solved

This is not only annoying and persistent, they are PAID volunteers.... They should take the money the spend paying people to call and put it towards the cause:  American Heart Association

As soon as I get a live person on the robo calls that I don't want because it is my phone that I am paying for, they have no right to disturb me at all hours (dinner time).  I  do not speak, I start blowing a whistle as loud as I can until they hang up!  They never call again.  It works!

I have answered when the AHA called, they asked me to solicit donations for them and trying to be nice I said I would mail their info & letter asking for donations. They mail a list of names & addresses of people in your neighborhood, send envelopes too. You provide stamps for the sent envelope as well as the return envelopes. The problem was that their list of names was outdated. Most of the material sent out came back to me as undeliverable. Their answer when I approached them about this was that at least people were informed about the AHA.  Guess they didn't hear the part about most of the mail coming back!  I considered my time & postage to be their donation.

I've been haranged with "anonymous" calls for the past two weeks.  Nearly all appear to be (when I look # up on-line) from the American Heart Association.  I block one number, they call from another.  Will I be donating anything to the Heart Association?  Mmmmm, let me think.  NO!  These idiots are probably scammers any way.

i have also been haranged relentlessly EVERY day for at least 2 weeks.  They call 7 days a week, starting at around 8:20 AM.  They have, so far, called from about 8-10 different numbers, so it does no good to try to block them.  ONE THING IS FOR CERTAIN: The American Heart Association will NEVER, EVER get one penny from me.
