I got this call on my house phone and when I answered no one spoke. I then hung up and called them on my cell phone. A computer voice answering service(claimed to be Verizon)said it was about a bill payment on a cell phone and gave me the number to my cell phone that I called them back on. Verizon is not the carrier of my cell phone and has never been! You make the determination. Thanx

I'm really disgusted with the way they (I'm assuming it's Verizon as I do have service with them on my home network including internet and TV) do this.  I know that I haven't been able to pay on time as I had been laid off since May and I still am not working.  But the recording comes on and doesn't even mention Verizon, just asks if I'm calling about my # they list.  So if they can't be courteous enough to not have an Automated Response System answer when I pick up, then I won't even do business with them that way.  I think it stinks.  When we call them for service, do we give them a recorded message stating we need help?  No!!! This stinks as far as customer services goes.

they are hiding from us! stupid, isn't it? i turned off my ans machine & don't answer if there is no real name.

i get an online notice that my bill is available a week or two After i receive the paper bill. so it makes me Always behind cause i pay online. but they can't be trusted with the billing, they always stick something in that i do not have. they tell me what a great customer i am but dont' switch me to a better rate til i call & scream at them.

i hate them but the only alternative i have is comcast...er...xfinity & they're worse.

BEWARE! Received the call today and checked other blogs who thought it was a scam. I listened to the voicemail which said it was verizon and my bill was past due and had to be paid. I checked my bill and it's current and NOT due until next week. If you listen to the message they give you an 800 number to call and pay the bill. IT'S A SCAM!!!!!

I agree,  I too am disgusted with Verizon and that Verizon stinks..they are the hardest company to get a human to talk to. And they send you one bill that says you like $94.00 on my bill then the next bill sent two days later and I owe like $300. I am so fed up with them, last time I called and said I send a payment in on Thursday that week not to shut off my phone, and internet, that was Monday they  shut everything off, then I get a shut off notice on Friday, saying they was shutting everything off.  they said they called but it doesn't have Verizon on the Caller ID. just the number. If they are such a good company why don't they have a number you can talk to a human instead of automated crap, and they actually give you a date on the notice a when they would shut everything off. Well, I am quitting with Verizon internet on Friday with satellite internet, I am so tired of paying for internet and the stupid thing is off more than on. All I will have is the landline till another phone company comes around this area, we live in country then we will change to who ever offers a better deal then Verizon. Even our cell phones won't workwe have way to twon b4 we get a signal. no towers around. Then I am going to tell Verizon where to stick their internet service. I would do the same with the phone but my daughter is pregnant and I need a phone she is in her last trimester.

This is a SCAM robot saying it is "verizon" calling about my account, but it is NOT calling me on a verizon-owned phone. I would NOT provide this robot with any information.

They even have the same message as the REAL Verizon 800 number. I just called Verizon and they "couldn't confirm" that it was from them. I agree Verizon sucks. In addition, they called on the due date! Probably out of the country scammers.

I keep getting these calls every day and my bills are current. Msg states I'll get penalty fees if I don't pay. Also leaves another 800 # to call. Real nuisance and Virizon won't assist, just plays dumb. I agree with other person, Congress could stop this if it weren’t for the money, sick of corrupt politicians too.

This is NOT Verizon.  I got 2 calls from "Verizon" today and I called Verizon after each call. This number is not a Verizon number,  The recorded message said my "high speed internet account" was past due and in danger of being shut off..  I don't have a high speed internet account and my wireless number is paid in full.  There's no option to talk to a human, and the real Verizon does have that option.  The number you're asked to call is an automated payment system,  The second number they give, to call if you want more information, is a real Verizon number, but it's for residential service.  Internet and wireless systems are an entirely different division and have their own.billing and support numbers.  The bad new is that enough people fall for this to make it lucrative.  I went to http://www.telepest.us and found this number is listed a s a "household pest".  If you have caller ID, don't answer.

They called my landline and said that I was overdue.  My landline is NOT Verizon but my cell is.  I logged in to my cell account, and sure enough, it says "Paid In Full."  Verizon has NEVER called my landline, they send messages to my cell or through the mail.  THIS IS A SCAM.
