They're still calling. Again, I picked up the phone - to silence- and said to stop calling and take my name of their list. I also filed a Do Not Call.gov complaint. (I have been on that list since it began).

Call the Lupus Foundation HQ in Washington DC (202)349-1155. A human answers. Ask them to take you off their 888 calling list. They will ask for your name and the telephone number that is called.
They said they will take care of it. We'll see.

I have noticed a number of posts that claim this is supposed to be the Lupus Foundation, but I don't believe it for one minute.

I suspect its a collection agency spoofing their number. The reason being is that I have been receiving calls from a collection agency for my sister who hasn't lived here for over 25 years.  The odd part of it all is that when they do leave messages for her, they are looking for her under her married name. When she lived here, she wasn't even married.

Non-stop calls every day!! I'm on National Do Not Call Registry... After numerous non-stop calls, I finally answered and told them I was on Do Not Call Registry and threatened to report them to Attorney General's Office if they called again... They told me they don't care and they can do what they want...
They still continue to call daily!!!...I wouldn't give them a damn thing even if they paid me a million dollars now....What good is the Do Not Call Registry if they continue to do whatever they want!!!! Do something to stop them and other idiots like them!!@!

They keep on calling and never leave a message - drives you crazy.  I called back and it is for a pickup donation.  Why don't they just say that and maybe you might pick up.  Next time I will pick up and tell them to take me off their list.  Charities should be on the do not call list.

On June 16 I spoke with their manager and asked to be removed from their list.  See how well that worked.

Had another call from 888 445 8787. This time it was a real person. I explained that I get called twice a week. Surprisingly, the woman explained that the Lupus Foundation is exempt from do-not-call lists by the nature of its charity designation. I took that to mean they will call me as often as they like. I was then invited to talk with the supervisor. I explained I don't have time, and suggested they can continue to call and we can continue to have unpleasant conversations.

...or so I thought. I just got another call on Dec. 30, 2010. Apparently I called and asked them to stop on my previous complaint and it did no good.

Saw from this list that it was the Lupus Foundation. Called them, got live person quickly who politely said that I would be removed from the call list.

received call from this number on Sunday, January 23, 2011 @ 5:25 pm and talk with a Sue. Sue said she is a professional fundraiser. I told her to delete my phone number from her database. I gave her no time to get into her script. what is a professional fund raiser, maybe if she had given her full name and identified the organization she represented, maybe I would have permitted her to continue. I use to get junk mail, now I'm getting junk phone calls.

This number is hard to find info on. I wonder why. It's probably not legitimate. If you call it back you get a busy signal. I got a busy signal for 45 minutes. No legitimate company's phones are that tied up. Beware.

They're calling again after they were told last year to remove my name from the list (see my prior post). I told them again to stop calling and will file another donotcall.gov complaint. Al, as per my post on the prior page, if they are a third party fundraiser for the charity, rather than the charity itself, they can be penalized up to $16K per call if they continue after you've asked them to stop.

they can call because the do  not call list does not apply to them, they are not soliciting, not selling anything or asking for money. they are asking if you can donate house items you no longer need. they just want to get a yes or no and see if they can set up an appointment to pick your donations up. i donated for some time and then decided i was giving too much away, and i asked a few times to be removed because i just dont have anything left! My friend told me to try 'take me off your list or i will report you to the attourney general you [***]' and that worked. and ask for a manager. havent got a call in a while!

calls from this number show up on Caller ID as Leaf Pickup Service, but it is actually the Lupus Foundation looking for donations. They call at least 2 times a day if no one answers the phone.

This is an automated call from the stupid Lupus pick up people. They are looking for donations. Sure wish they'd get colon cancer and die a slow painful death without pain meds. These people make me sick. You know the old saying- A FRIEND IN NEED IS A PEST!!!

called at 10:39 PM... really? That is not a good way to get a donation. That is absolutely annoying.

Called today (may 18, 2011), left no message.

I called their Washington, DC headquarters at 202-349-1155, talked to a very nice man who took my name and number and said he would remove my info from their list.

We have donated to them in the past, so I'm sure that gives them 100% permission to call regardless of my status on the "Do Not Call" registry.

Simply have nothing left to donate at the moment, so requested to be removed.
