I just called the 209 number for lupus and asked the man who answered to put my number on their do not call list. He wanted my name and number but I told him I would only give him my number. He hesitated, then took my number. I just can't see supplying a name to be linked with my phone number in some database.

I'm the anonymous poster from may 26th who called the lupus foundation directly. This is now Sunday afternoon on a holiday weekend and the 888 number just called again! So much for asking nicely. I'm going to block the number and report it to dnc.gov. Probably won't do me any good.

Please keep in mind that charities are exempt from the Do Not Call Registry. So if they are calling, they are not violating any laws. You must ask them to remove your number.

Alright...If you want to stop being called not answering is the last thing you should do bc they will just keep calling. You should pick up the call and politely tell them you are not interested. You will most likely then be called in 4-6 weeks or to be informed of another truck in your area if you're interested. Warning: you may be called sooner if a.) someone makes a mistake or b.) there may be numerous call centers calling on behalf of LFA. If this really is a bother you can always tell them that you would like to be removed. Something as simple as 'I'm not interested in these calls. Since I have asked to be removed if I get another call I will report you.'

I get about 4 calls a day from this number.. I always let my answer machine pick up my home line as i use my mobile number for business.  This number never leaves a message..from doing *69, I know it's the Lupus Foundation.  Until recently i was getting callas from Leukemia Lymphoma that wpould start at 8am and go on until 9 pm.. about 4-5 a day..
I do not respond to telephone requests for charities.
Being on the Do Not Call list should stop these types of calls, but I guess it is not effective .

888-445-8787 called and left a hangup voicemail.  I called back, got Yuri for Lupus Pickup Service and asked her to be removed from the calling list.

She asked for my address, I decided to give it, and she said my number would be removed in 48 hours.

Calling constantly even after I tell them I have nothing to donate.  I am on the do not call list but they keep calling.

They called several times this morning.
I didn't pick up but could see the number 888-445-8787 on the caller i.d.
I just called the foundation's fundraising office and they took my number and said they would ensure it the calls would stop.

oh, i didnt realize chartities were exempt from the "do not call list" rules
i guess that explains why Lupus keeps calling several times this morning

Yup. I get the same thing. I let the answering machine answer and they hang up all the time. They must call about 3 to 4 times a day. Morn, noon and night.  they are very annoying and not going to get any donations that way. PLEASE STOP CALLING. I WILL NEVER ANSWER SO DON'T CALL ANYMORE!

Call at breakfast time and when you answer no one is there. A real annoyance. We are registered on the no call list.

Just received another call from this number even though I asked them about a month ago to be removed from their list.

I you live on Long Island and have Optimum Voice phone service, just block the number. The call never gets through nor does your phone ever ring.

I have complained before about this number calling. I am now skeptical if anything can really be done about it.
