See my response to this problem in April and June - it's now December and I haven't received a single call from the Lupus people in all this time.  Call the local affiliate to complain and they will stop it; don't even bother pleading with the people making the calls.  If you have goods to donate, you can call the affiliate office directly too.  They are nice people; the ones making these calls are not.

Folks this is not the LUPUS Foundation

It is Apogee Marketing company.  There is an [***] in Saveage maryland who takes your good and sells them for profit which benefits their company.hey give pennies on the dollar to the foundations they support.

Unfortunately, you ask them to stop calling on the toll free number and then they call you on another foundation's behalf.

It will not stop until you start asking questions.

Ask: What marketing company
Ask for the CEO's name
Google them
All these people have records that are open to the general public.
Complain with the foundation that is stated during the call
Compain with the state's attorney generals office and better business bureau.

Yeeep, dam solicitors, I've often heard they're not who the say they are but they pick up our stuff n leave tax slip so I do it.  It's the calls that bother me.  I do pickups online when I get the ard in the mail with a pickup date.  Yet they call n all n call n call.  Ive verbally told them many times to take our # off their list.  They say ok but yet, they call.  I do donate often so I'm thinking the "agencies" share addresses.  Either way, enough.  And on a Sunday night, leave us alone already.  I started donating locally for Sandy.  I've heard something about blowing a whistle when they call...yet haven't tried that...yet.

Thanks for the heads up, they just called and i like to donate things when i have them rather then just toss them out, but hearing all the complaints about this co. on here and other sites, i am just gonna pack up junk in boxes and let them haul it away for me. @ can play this game .

Tired of receiving calls from 1- 888- 445- 8787 (Lupus Foundation Pick -up Service) after asking to be removed from their call list numerous times.  Lately, even more frequent calls coming in.  After doing some research, I was given a number to call: (202) 349-1155. This is the Lupus Foundation in Wash. DC.  After speaking with someone named Tony, I was connected to the CEO, Mary Schwarz.  I told her of my being fed up with these calls, that this organization was only hurting their cause by annoying people, etc.  Also told her I would report any further calls to the FTC (877) 382-4357.  Even though Lupus is a charitable organization, if you are on the Do Not Call Registry, apparently there is a significant fine if they continue to call, after you have asked them to remove you from the call list.  Ms. Schwarz indicated she is aware of that.  She told me I called the right place to get removed, & she would take care of it right away. Hope this helps others who are fed up with what seems to be a significant increase in telemarketing calls.

this number shows up on my caller ID at least 4 times a week. There have been times that they call 5 times in 1 day. I usually do not answer the phone when this number comes up but I have answered a few times just to ask them to remove me from their calling list.  It didn't work so I'm back to not answering again. They have called as late as 9 PM.

LUPUS - OK, you can call ALL you want, at odd times of the day, weekends, over and over and over again. We JUST WONT ANSWER. I am done giving to you guys. I am now GIVING TO THE CHRISTIAN CHARITIES. YOU HAVE TO STOP BEING GREEDY LUPUS DEAR.

Every day they call at all hours, and they never leave a message.  I answered once and told them to take my name off their list but they still keep calling.  How does one make this stop?  It is most annoying.

They call constantly at all times of the day. I donate to charities ON my own accord. If I'm going to donate to you I will do it. STOP calling random people. It's a good way to ensure ZERO donations in the future. They're harassing because they call so often!

I know everyone who has replied lives all over the USA, and only you know what you have for Cable TV providers. I have Verizon FIOS for TV, phone & internet. On the On Screen Menu thru the cable box, when you go to Menu on the TV screen, under Digital Voice, you can see your Calling Log of who called, time, date etc. and you can ADD THAT NUMBER TO THE BLOCK LIST!    YAY

But still, best to call them and ask to be removed from their list and tell them to NEVER sell my name, location, PHONE NUMBER and email address infomation ever.

They call EVERY day!!! I do NOT answer when I see their number. It is so annoying and I wish they would get the hint and STOP!!

The Do Not Call list is just as effective as the rest of our government.  I have filed several complaints and this is the answer you get from them: Do not call complaints will be entered into a secure online database available to civil and criminal law enforcement agencies. While the FTC does not resolve individual consumer problems, your complaint will help the agency investigate the company, and could lead to law enforcement action.

This is Lupus and they get an award for most obnxious persistent robo caller. If you email donate@lupus.org or  Michelle Markussen  michellem@apogeeretail.com , they will take you off the list. As for non profit, I googled Lupus and something like $.50  of every dollar goes toward fund raising, not research and the CEO makes $250,000.
