- Tom| 10 repliesGot a letter from them today....RESORT OWNERS ASSOCIATION 3208 E. COLONIAL DRIVE STE C #308 ORLANDO, FLA 32803
They don't have the balls to provide an email address nor can I come up with one. However, when they open the letter I'm sending.....well, someone will have a miserable day. - JQ| 1 replyThe address for: RESORT OWNERS ASSOCIATION 3208 E. COLONIAL DRIVE STE C #308 ORLANDO, FLA 32803 is actually a UPS store.
- steve| 1 replyI got the same letter. Is this a scam? I am not and never have been a time share owner.
- JerryI received a letter from them also. Of course it's a scam. If it has an address in Florida, you can bet it's a SCAM, big time.
- Caller: Resort Owners Association
- thinker| 3 repliesNot exactly a scam. They arrange to rent your timeshare for you....they do get a nice fee from you, but basically, they rent it out to others. This covers both your annual maintenance fee and your cost for their service. Of course....you can't actually use your timeshare yourself either, most of the time....
- Michelle replies to thinkerYes, it is exactly a scam.
- Gene replies to steveJQ is correct, doing a search for The UPS Store there comes up with that address. I also got the letter and it says to call (888)812-3954.
- JillI also do not, nor never have, ownwd a time share. My letter from Resort Owners Association, 3208 East Colonial Drive Ste C #306, Orlando, FL 32803 says to call (888) 812-3954. WHAT A SCAM!
- Caller: Got a letter
- Mark replies to thinkerUsing language such as "This Notice was sent to you as a courtesy only.", "For a limited time...", "eliminate Maintenance Fees", and "only available to a select group", if not an outright SCAM, is at the very best purposefully deceptive. Please note that I did not place those upper case letters, they did, as a tactical deception. Please don't defend a business model that preys on the unsuspecting or the less wary (trusting soul) consumer. This only makes you become a party to the deception and it doesn't sound like you are that kind of person. Thanks.
- Carol| 15 repliesI too received this letter. I called this number and talked to a lady . She was nice and set me up for a mtg with a rep. for today. I have 2 timeshares in Fla. Do you really think this is a scam?
- Shelby replies to CarolScam? I am not sure, but I would definitely have a lawyer look at all the docs before you sign or pay anything. Also find out from them how to look them up on bbb.org. I already tried to look them up but this company name and phone number do not bring up anyone. I do know that you should not pay any LISTING company, because once the list you on one website they have fullfilled their contract with you.
- gscott replies to JQthe address is actually suite 306 not 308 as posted above. but it's still a scam.
- Brad replies to CarolEither you are incredibly naive or a shill lurking on the web to support this scam. I received an unsolicited letter from them asking that I call (888) 853-3068. The return address on the letter was identical to that referred to in earlier posts, except it was for "Ste C #306" instead of #308 (mentioned in earlier posts).
- susan replies to Carol| 5 repliesCarol I was just wondering if you ever spoke with anyone Im trying to sell my timeshare Please let me know if they can help I would love to get rid of this timeshare Take care
- RCreek replies to Carol| 1 replyYes, I think it is a total scam. They are a shady business with a UPS store address in a stripmall (you can see it on google maps!) I get these all the time. Do not do business with these people!! Please!!
- BillK replies to RCreekUPS address doesn't make it a scam any more than a PO Box. UPS provides Mailbox services.
Its their business model that makes it a scam not how and where they collect their mail. - Fooled once| 1 replyI received this notice and called my Resort. They verified that it wasn't sent by them. They asked me to fax the letter to them so Resort Management could check it out. They say these companies do this alot. People can get fooled easily. They caught the guy that duped me and he did time and I got my money back over along perod of time from the prison work program he was in. So be wary I was lucky they caught him. Most resorts have their own rental programs with little or no fees. So call them instead good luck
- Caller: Resort Owners Association
- Won't Get Fooled AgainI just received the same letter. My guess is that it is a total scam. I requested some information on the internet a few months ago in regards to selling my timeshare. What a mistake! Since then I have been inundated with phone calls and mailings from these "companies" who promise to rid me of my timeshare for an upfront fee of $399 - $1700! Of course they all claim that they are "different" from the other guys. These operations must have a mailing/contact list of timeshare owners and odds are sooner or later someone will "bite" if they keep trying. I did once, never again.
- DeanLavoieI received a postcard from this company and decided to call the toll free number. Its basically just a company who wishes to help timeshare owners out of their timeshare. The representative who answered the phone was really nice and answered all my questions.
- Walter Gonzalez| 3 repliesMany businesses use an UPS address for their location and they each have their own reasons for doing so. I dont believe a company is a scam simply because they use an UPS address. When I called the company they were nice enough.
