This number called my home during the day while I was at work. They asked for me and when I wasn't home and left a message for me to call them back. I had no idea what was going on. I found out later that my sister got a small loan a while back and this guy is harassing the whole family and trying to scam us for thousands of dollars. Protect yourself people and don't get scammed by Mr. Dave and The Law Office. He's probably hanging out in his basement hacking into peoples info making a very profitable business.

Just got home from work and had a message from a Mr. Davids on behalf of Paul Cooperstein  & Associates about a legal matter and that it was imperative that I get in touch immediately. I don't have a long distance plan, so I won't be calling this number. I any not late on any payments to anybody and have no idea what this is about, but after reading some of the previous post, I am not eager to find out either.

Yesterday received voice mail from this company, giving impression they are lawyers.said I had twenty four hours to call them back or my file would be sent to court .also they called my two daughters and threatened them.it was lady who called and was very rude to my daughter.I  do owe money for PDL but I thought I would receive mail about this and I could try and make arrangements that way.Ididnt think legal lawyers would make calls like that. She called back this morning repeating the same thing as yesterday,Ididnt answer as I don't think I could take the abuse.

My fiance got a call from this office this morning. He is all in a panic and had to go to work right after the phone call. So I decided to do some research. So glad I found this!!! He was told he owes a pdl.. which he does.. the loan was for $250 and these goofs said he owes $948 and he has to pay 51%, so around $500 or it will be going to court at 11am tomorrow.  I am assuming no one has actually receieved court papers from these people?? We are going to the loan place tonight to speak with them and see what we can do. He was told he is legally not allowed to speak to the pdl store. Nice try buddy!! The pdl store im sure will be happy to accept payments. As long as they are getting their money.

    Someone who knows
This number is a third party debt collector. They threaten with court papers being drawn up against you as they think this is a way to scare people to get them to pay. If they are asking  you to pay  more then you owe this is obviously a scam. Most places that you owe an outstanding debt to for a long peroid of time will settle the debt with you for less then what you owe not 50% more.

Just to advise all of you in this forum, I am a licenced paralegal practicing in Ontario. I have just been retained
by a young woman hos has just been intimidated by these bullies. Using scare tactic that they will seize her ODSP cheque, her baby bonus, her rented apartment. She owes $1,500.00 and they are saying they will sue for 7 to 10,000.00 and put her in jail.
All of which is preposterous. In her situation, they only thing they will get is a lawsuit from us for illegal practice.
By the way, the name of the company is Paul Kupferstein & Associates.

Richard Clasen called for my wife yesterday and he said it was imperative he speak with her and gave me his number 1-905-474-3535. It sounded to me to be some sort of law firm. When I told him I was her husband and what was this about he replied it was about a reference and he couldn't speak to me about it. Later when I told my wife she knew of no one that she had referenced and we decided it didn't sound very legitimate, hence she will not be calling them back. If he calls again I will inform him I have contacted the RCMP and that he can go to hell.

hi folks, been reading some of the posts here, and find them quite interesting, just a little info , that I found out, if you are only receving a government benefit, or benefits, to survive, there is no procedure, in place where any collection agency , can draw funds from you, that is given to tou from the government they know this, but if they can persuade you, to do this on your own behalf , well it,s entirely its up to you,, also I may a cease and a desist letter to the collection agency that is harressing you,oh/  one other thing,, get the book written by mark silverthorn former collection agency, lawyer who turned red coat against the these wacky lawless idiots that are causing so much pain , stop the pain ,, stop the distress,, hope this helps .get the book written by mark silverthorn. title. wolves at the door. mark worked for collection agencies only in Canada, good luck and enjoy life.. god bless ,,, walther

Got a call while at work today and my Mom took the message.  A Richard Klassen from "Law Office" (is what appeared on my called ID) called in regards to a reference.  i automatically assumed it had something to do with a job that someone applied for and is using me as a reference.  However, no one I know applied to this "company" and I don't recall anyone EVER asking to use me as a reference.  After having read these posts, I'm now concerned that he's calling to "bully" me for some reason.  I don't owe anyone money and have no disputes going on with anyone so I'm a bit confused and concerned.

I was getting calls last year nearly every week for at least 6 months claiming I am the reference for my cousin who borrowed money from them and they need it back, asking me to tell him to call them. Well my cousin is very well off and has absolutely no need to borrow money which I also clarified with him. I thought it was all a scam because my cousin has just about the most generic name on earth I assumed they probably ask everyone if they know a "----- -----".

However, today, after nearly 8 months I received a new call, from Victor David who works out of the legal office of "Paul Kupferstein & Associates" at the # 905-474-3535 asking me to have my cousin call them back ASAP in regards to his legal case??

First of all, my cousin has never used me as a reference... how did they get my info?
Second of all, why are they calling me yet my cousin has NEVER received a call from them??

This is all sketchy and makes me worried and incredibly uncomfortable. This harassment is starting to scare me and I hope it does not continue now from this legal office.

    Paul Kupferstein, Collection Lawyer

    Postby HonestAbe » Wed Jan 22, 2014 07:03:46 PM
Here's what one unhappy ex-employee had to say on the blogs about working for Paul Kupferstein's office. He claims their employees spam this site because they don't like reading critical posts like mine about them. Oh well, nowhere near as much spam as you Steve.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"I used to work for Paul K's collections office. I could not get into the deception and scare tactics they use so quit after a week. The guys that work there. David, Sargent, Klassen, Hazel actually make a contest to see how many suckers they can scare ito paying and they get bonuses each week paid to the top performer. It is quite sick, they actually high five each other every time a payment posts in the Royal bank from one of their victims. They get 20% commissions on what whatever they con people out of. The rest goes to the agency. They make good money because they buy default loans really cheap, some of them may have already been settled but they don't care, they increase the original amount owed and out of every 10 calls they get some sucker that actually pays the full amount. I quit as soon as I realized they are no different than the con artists that try to drain some old widow's bank account.

By the way, they come on this site frequently...any comment you see that supports them or say they lost out because they read this site are actually one of them like question?? above is Mr David, David is actually his first name, his written English is terrible which is how I know it is him. David and the others go here frequently and even tried for a while to spam the site so that peoples messages would get hidden in the spam. I go on here also to report their spams and to let people know to never return calls to these guys, hang up on them immediately, tell all your references about them and to hang up on them also. If they keep on harassing you or calling you, report them to the RCMP, document their calls, record them if you can if it persists. The RCMP are coming close to closing them down due to their illegal collection methods. As for your debt if legitimate, just go to the original creditor and make arrangements with them."
