- KimThe comments above obviously have not been harassed by this or any other company like them. You are correct in the fact that debts should be paid off. However if they are not, does that mean that people should be harassed and
intimidated? With the economy the way it is, it is no wonder that people cannot pay their debts. People who have fallen upon bad times, lost jobs, been laid off, had to be on sick leave. You are assuming that every single person that is in debt is lazy and ignoring their responsibilities. I can tell you that you are the one that is wrong. These companies are just interested in earning their commission any way they can with any tactics they can. And when they are representing themselves as a law office and indeed they are not that is fraud. You named Total Liability Resolutions as the identity of your caller when everyone else here has named them as "The Law Office". It makes me wonder, what name is the one they are listed under? And why do they call themselves "The Law Office"? All of us on here have the same story...sorry old tactics that not only harass the client but their family, and place of work. They continually called my number for somebody I didn't know. What I couldn't believe was the rude and ignorant behaviour they demonstrated. A professional company doesn't employ people like that. Even after I told them they had the wrong number they kept calling. I finally reported them and let Bell deal with it. I came on here to see who or what they were. You may want to take a look at the collection laws in Ontario because they pretty much break all of them. So don't try to come on here and be all good and noble about this company.
I worked in collections myself and I know all the tricks. I am sorry to tell you that you are grossly mistaken. Obviously a file that goes to collections hasn't been paid for a long time, d'uh!!! It doesn't take a Einstein to figure that one out. I do have disbelief lots of it. You have to know this business like I do. This is a great website and I am glad that people are reporting on here. I quite collections because I couldn't take all the pressure for the almighty dollar. For all of you on here... hang in there....and support each other and report these creeps!!!
P.S. Individual above(Finding This Funny) probably works for them and by the way...REAL is spelled R E A L not reals.- Caller: The Law Office????????????
- Kimsorry I meant to say "quit collections" not quite....I was a little infuriated by "Finding This Funny"!!!!
- Caller: The Law Office....or not?????
- ShannonSame company very annoying. Is there any way to stop them???

- aceI also received calls from this number and they were looking for my brother. They told him that he'd be sued if he didn't pay $200.00 and would have to go to court. Even though it's $200 the sudden request for money using legal matters worried my brother. After reading this, it gave me relief! What did everyone else do about this?

- TheresaI submitted a comment on August 19 and just came back on to do a follow-up. It is very surprising that these people are still trying to get away with it. I haven't received anything else associated with this supposed overdue account since I told him that it would not be paid until I actually got a legitimate bill for it. No proof no pay. Also while reading their comment posted here I realized that the person who wrote it is not very educated. Mispelled a word and not even using proper english. If they are indeed lawyers I wouldn't want them to represent me for anything. lol

- AmyA Mr. Hazel called me today threatening to have me charged with "fraud" for a PDL supposedly I took out in 2007, I was never contacted for collection or given any info of this debt!!!! When he was done threatening me stating he would be filing charges as of tomorrow I started making some calls!! Turns out the Waterloo Regional Police have had several of complaints ( same as mine) in regards to this "Law Office" and told me that IF they were to call back to tell them I would see them in court!!!

- Pay Back Time!MASS PRANK CALL THEM! Might not be the moral or mature thing to do but, MEH!
They can call us lying, so let's call them.
When they answer, say something stupid like, bite me, suck my toe, talk in a made up accent, pretend that you are annoyed that they answered their phone, pretend that you can't hear them when they answer the phone........ the ideas are limitless.
Block your number or use a long distance calling card, go to a phone booth. I know these things take money but it's a small price to pay to bite back don't ya think.
Any one who reads this, every so often, call them and say something stupid, or say nothing at all and play music into the phone!
I was informed by this "LAW OFFICE" that I owed $800 for a phone bill (not true, once upon a time I did but no longer)
I called this number back and they answered saying, Law Firm, I said pardon me, who have I called, and they said, It's a lawyer's office.
NO LAWYER'S OFFICE ANSWERS THEIR PHONES LIKE THAT, THEY SAY THE NAME OF THE FIRM not simply "Law Office"
The man never said his first name clear enough for me to catch it. When I asked him to spell his name, he only spelled his last name. DAVID
Once I informed "MR. DAVID" that I was currently going to college to become a Law Clerk and that I was going to ask my teacher who's a lawyer, what my rights are in this matter, he got upset and said, do what you want mame but I'll see you in court and your bank account will be frozen and we will take up to 40% of ANY income coming in to that account. Then he hung up on me.
[***]! LOL Oh he also informed me that the phone company more than likely woulnd't talk to be as my account was handed over to their "LAW FIRM"
When I called the phone company it was regarding, I was informed that this could possibly be a collection agency who once handled my former account that did go to collections long ago but what "MR. DAVID" was saying about the $3000 I would owe for court costs and intrest for the past three years and freezing my bank account and disconnecting all the services I currently have with this phone company, isn't how this phone company rolls that they wouldn't subject people to this kind of garbage.
The phone company gave me the phone number to phone buster to report this number. I'll be posting all this where ever I can.

- AKThank goodness I have found this information. I did make the mistake of getting a payday loan but I already have arrangements made to pay it. Then I started getting these calls! The last message asked me to [rovide the name of a lawyer who would be receiving my court papers. This is ludicrous. I can nenver make out a name to speak to at the office so I googled the number and got this site.

- parkySame thing, a Mr. David called and said I was being sued and the authorities were on there way to my door, I would also be charged with fraud. I asked him what this was regarding and he hung up on me. Nobdy has come to my door in 2 days. Now I see what this is all about, they are scammers! In the United States and in Canada. How can they just continue and nothing has been done about it? Authorities have been informed yet they still continue to operate.

- mother-in-lawFellow called tonight asking how to reach my son in law. I said you just called my daughter and ask for her husband so why are you calling me. He said it was urgent and about a serious legal matter. My son in law had to return this call asap.
My daughter has found this sight and we want everyone to know that this fellow is very intimidating. Says he will have me in court for not co-operating.Says he will freeze my daughter's account so she won't have money to pay her bills as my son in law right now isn't working. This fellow needs to be caught. Everyone needs to help catch this fellow.- Caller: paul cooperstein &associate
- lisaI have also received a call from Mr. Sargent, at 905-474-3535 - ext. 239. At first, he left me a message (on 22/01) stating that he was calling from a law office, and that if I didn't return his call within 24 hours, that I would be sent to court, and charged with fraud.
Terrified, I returned his call almost immediately and he told me that it was due to an unpaid pay day cash loan (Which I am admitting, I still owe. Not having worked over the past few months has really put a damper on my income, obviously). He also mentioned that I owed $609.26 and I would have to have the money to him in 48 hours or he was going to contact the authorities and take me to court, charge me with fraud - and if that happened, I would owe more than $2000.00. He asked me why I hadn't paid back the money, that I should at least be able to pay a minimum of $75 a month. I explained to him that I was currently unemployed and hadn't been able to get/keep a job within the past few months. He scoffed at me and said to him, it proved that I had no intention of paying back the loan, so I was to consider myself warned.
I called him back the next day (friday 23/01) and asked if I could have the weekend at least to come up with the money. He agreed, but told me I had to call him by 9am sharp Monday 26/01. I just literally got off the phone with him, and he told me that I now owe $529.56 and I must pay at a RBC branch, into their 'lawyers trust fund'. I asked if I could pay the pay day loan place directly and he said no. That seemed kind of fishy to me, so I decided to finally look into this matter online.
I do not need to be intimidated and bullied into paying a loan back. I already know I owe, and the representative at the pay day loan place knows that too. I spoke to her not long after taking out the loan and told her I had lost my job. She was very nice, and told me that as long as I paid within a year or so - or at least made arrangements to, nothing would happen. - 2009-February 2Mr. Hazel left a message with my son today for my husband to call him back as soon as possible with regard to a legal matter. When we called back Mr. Hazel said that the call was in reference to my husbands sister (even knew her name)and asked for her contact information or for us to contact her and direct her to call him immediately.
I am glad that I couldn't reach my husband when I first heard the message and thought that 'law office - caller id 905-474-3535' showing on the phone was a little strange. As well, when I called they didn't know who to direct me to without knowing my telephone number.
Definitely a scam!!! - veryconcernedI received a call from Mr. Blascen today about a payday loan that I owed, same story as everyone else and indeed I do owe the loan but I have been out of a job for awhile and things are very tight. I just was wondering if they ever followed up on anything they said for anyone here. He said he was going to charge me with fraud, freeze my accounts and take me to court. I am very scared. I will pay the loan back when I get a job. I am just very worried.....
