I had the exact same experience...infuriating.

Every day. I never answer. Tried to call once to get off their list, but got nothing but background music.

Why they are calling?

I am calling the Atty. Gen's Office about this.  I am being harrassed by this company and will drop ATT completely if they do not stop!!!

They have called me twice in two days and no one is on the line.  Have reported them on DNC registry.  You can report if the caller is a recording and not a live person whether you are on the DNC registry or not.  I figure you can report if the caller is dead air as well, so I did.  Have registered on the DNC registry now and will file a complaint with the registry every time they call me if no one is on the line.  By the way, I am not now nor have I ever knowingly been an AT&T customer.  I got upsale calls from Frontier three times in as many weeks and requested my number removed from their lists after the third call.  Haven't gotten another call from them yet, but THIS outfit?!  Not the same on caller ID so I don't know who they are or what they want.

I have been getting these calls for several days now, except the number ends with a 3, but on the caller ID it says Effective Teles.  I know who is behind these calls.  It is the company called Frontier, who some of you might be familiar with -- if you had Verizon for phone or internet service, and Frontier took over their services in some parts of the country.  They are simply trying to let people know about services and promotions they have.  So why can't it just say "Frontier" on the caller ID?  Why do they have to be mysterious about it, and call you all hours of the day and night, day after day?  I don't know.  But anyway, mystery solved!

I am on the DNCL also, and this number and name Effective Teles has called me repeatedly.  When I answer they hang up.  They don't leave a message if I let it go to my voice mail.  I called the number and was on hold for 10 mintues and finally hung up.  How do you get these calls to stop.  And WHY do they call if they aren't going to answer you??!!

How do I get of their list?

They have been constantly calling. I do not pick up, maybe I should & let them know to stop already. My ID says effective teles. I believe it probably is AT&T because I just switched to digital, got rid of them.

This number had called repeatedly ove rthe lasat week or so, never anyone there when I answer. No message on teh machine, either.  I have not changed form ATT, am on the DNC list.

AT&T is freaking crazy with their calls there rates are just too high and they alienated their customers I used to pay 96.00 dollars for just a local service

These people call me up to 6 times a day. I never answer, but just tonight I tried to call the number to report them & get a supervisor to take me off their calling list. Not surprising, they put me on hold for over 20 minutes. So I gave up.

Just got a call from this # on my cell phone. Caller ID shows "Unknown".

We have told them to stop calling 3 times, and they keep calling.  Sometimes they call two and three times a day.  So annoying!  I will be filing a complaint with the FTC.
