I just recently started getting calls from this number as well. I don't answer calls that I don't recognize, however the caller never leaves a message. I am just wondering what is the purpose of this call? If anyone knows can you please tell me.

For the past two weeks I've been receiving calls from the same number (949-286-3311). I normally don't answer, but twice I did just to see who is was and what it was for, and it was a man saying he works for Verizon Wireless and asked for my boyfriend, whom I share the same phone plan with. After the call, I told my boyfriend, he said he's up to date with the bill, and said if they need to speak to him, they will call his phone and not mine. Tonight just now, the same caller called, and I picked up, and it was the man with the same message. Why can't they just call him instead of me? If they have his whole name, you'd think Verizon would have his number, too? We don't even share the same last name; just the same phone plan. Very strange....

This number called me today and didn't leave a message. I see other posters saying that the number claimed to be from Verizon Wireless. I'm a VW customer if it matters. I was a little late on a bill but not enough to warrant a call. Creditors usually leave messages anyways!

Its verizon wireless. They want u to pay your bill.

Keep on calling me but does not leave a message...It's freaky we want to know who is this?

My verizon acct is paid to date and they are still calling me once a day... anyone know how to make them stop?

I just received a call from this number on my work cell phone.  I did not answer (and they did not leave a message), but I did call it back and a recording stating that it is Verizon Wireless financial services and required a phone number to be entered.  I'm not sure why they would call this number because it's not the main line on the account.  I do find it strange that Verizon would call with a local number instead of a toll free number.

I've been getting a call from this number for four days now. Just want to know who it is, but they don't leave a message. OH well...guess it's not that important.

I get a call from thise number every day. they normally call twice every 2 hours, its getting annoying but i wont anwser and they dont leave a message.

This person keeps calling my home number, says he is from Verizon wireless. He says I have a past due balance but I just paid my bill in full 2 days ago. Verizon says if they were to call they would call my primary cell phone number.

It's a bogus marketing co that gets phone numbers from websites that say they will not share your info. They offer "free alarm systems" etc.

Ignore the calls. They are jerks.

This number calls my cell phone often, and late at night. It is very annoying!  They do not leave a message and I refuse to answer a # I am not familiar with.

actually it appears to be the collection office for Verizon.

They are quite helpful because they will let you know if you are due, how much is due, and when you should pay.

The calls apparently originate from a programmed dialer and that's why at times you answer and no one is there. If you hang for 5-10 seconds a voice will come on.

They were helpful to me. I didn't even know my account was due!

It's not actually debt collection.

I think it's a great service.

Received a call on my cell phone 949-286-3311, no message left..don't have an appreciation for those who call and don't leave messages, specially when I don't kow who they are or how they came into contact with my number...........we have cell #'s for certain reasons!  I will be contacting my cell company to make sure no charges were made

I've been reading about calls I'm getting from 949-286-3311, the auto message sounded fishy so I called Verizon. I spent some time with one of Verizon's reps, gave them the number and found that this is not one of their call centers and it is a scam to get personal information. If they call you report it to Verizon and your Atty General. Hope this helps.

Funny you mention that since I've been getting calls and I'm current and the fact that when I call Verizon they have no idea who the number belongs since it is not a part of Verizon corp.

Since yesterday morning I have gotten 4 calls from this number - with no voicemails left. This morning they called (at 8am!), I answered and there was nothing on the other end...

VERY strange. I will be ignoring the calls from now on.

It is Verizon when you are late on your bill

They do not know the number because it is an outgoing number not an in coming one. When they call out it is all the same number. It is not a scam, I have had Verizon for years and this is the number that shows up when I am late on my bill. The people you talk to do not know it because it is technically not a number they would no because they cannot receive incoming calls on it. I have a friend who works for Verizon who told me this.
