- kBob Jones is still at it...I just got a call from him after recently posting my resume on Careerbuilder. Thanks for the information and I will not be returning his call!
- Caller: worksaveretire
- SerBe careful I received the same call and the monologue. It seems that the change phone number cause I got the call from 877 651 9478.....Thank you for all the people who took the time to warn everybody about this scam.
- Caller: WORKSAVERETIRE
- Lynne replies to Tami KReading your message I immediately thought .. "you drank the kool-aid" you bought into their theory .. you probably work there and are irritated by all these comments. I have not heard any Schpeel.. I only received an initial call of a recorded voice that said " 5 5 5 5" and hung up. That made me feel like I had been "SPAMMED" on my phone. Basically a recorded voice was making sure that was indeed a good number. Then this morning I get the call saying they saw my resume. You say Where is the Scam?
A scam doesn't have to involve money. Someone who is retrieving my information from a career website, but isn't calling me about a job they think I would be qualified for .. that IS a Scam.
If I had filled something out requesting financial information, then they have every right to call me. If I post my resume on career builder or any other site... they have NO right to solicit me for there own business.
And about your comment that they offer a great way to search jobs banks with one search ... Have you heard of Indeed.com? There are plenty of job searches that do that ...
Just saying ... - Lynne replies to jimHmmm .. this is the EXACT same message that Tami wrote .. I guess you work there too... and are drinking the kool-aid. But hey dedication to a company you work for is a good thing!!
And WSR may be the place to get great 401K advice or other financial advice. That I don't know ...
What I do know, is the way they are going about getting their leads is WRONG.
The first call I received was local from a 972-649-0677. A recorded voice said "5 5 5 5". To me this made me suspicious that my number was being checked for validity. This morning the same number called. I did not answer, the message was from Kevin at Work Save Retire calling about my resume. Call back number was 855-866-5768.
If he's not calling about a job... then he shouldn't be calling. It's not Ethical to retrieve someone's information from a site such as careerbuilder and use it for your own business purposes. - Regina48220Somebody wanted to know where is the scam? The scam is that job boards are exploited to sell other services. What recruiting agency asks the job seeker to find the jobs using software. Recruiters are the people with relationships with the employers.
It's a bait and switch. The bait is "help you find a job". The switch is "in the meantime, talk to my financial advisor".
Below is my interaction with Work Save Retire.
My call was from 810-224-9420 and has the same elements that other people mentioned. I think WorkSaveRetire was trying to get me to meet with a Brian. Suggested that Brian would come to my house. I said I wasn't comfortable with that so then she suggested a public spot like a cafe or library. I asked where was Brian's office and was give a lame excuse as to why Brian is never in the office. So I said I wanted to meet some company representative in the office and that's when things unravelled.
The things that stood out as unusual: (1) a recruiting company that has YOU finding the job utilizing desktop sofware, (2) require that you meet with financial advisor, (3) asked if I had 401K to rollover, (3) asked value of retirement assets, (4) asked fewer career/job related questions, (5) has many offices throughout the country but did not know the address of the company's location in my area.
So after I received their e-mail (they had my address from CareerBuilder) I visited their website and noticed that Contact Us does not list an address and notice that the website itself is not even their own domain name - its subhosted on Ning, a social networking site.- Caller: Work Save Retire

- trinket95 replies to keister50wow! I am on the phone now with them. It is a long spiel. I should have read this first. What a waste of time. I am supposed to meet with Brad. WHEW. Just hung up. She was still talking . . . bless her heart.
- tman replies to TamiTami,
Hope you find a job soon...you have way too much time to defend these guys.
Legitimate companies do NOT NEED TO BE DECEITFUL.
Thanks to everyone's input, proceed with caution. - J replies to April,NO
- Liz replies to keister50| 2 repliesReceived the same message from a guy named Kevin, who supposedly has "questions regarding my resume"....whatever
- liz replies to Liz| 1 replyI just called and told them to take me off their list....hopefully that will happen :)
- srv68I got a call today from Bob from Work, Save, Retire. The number he gave to return his call was 855-866-5768. The local Dallas area number that was on my phone from his call was 972-649-0677. When I called it, I got a recording saying someone from Work, Save, Retire would be with me shortly. I as making the call as I was reading the info on this page....so glad I did. Isn't it enough to be on unemployment and now we have to weed out the scams too? Thanks for the info from everyone about this!!
- Caller: Work, Save, Retare
- mswin802 replies to keister50I got a call from Jennifer from WorkSaveRetire calling from a Michigan number (810-224-9420). Sh began her pitch as if the company offered "no cost or fees" job recruiting services, but was unable to tell me where in Michigan she was located. She said the company was based in Minneapolis, MN. She got a little testy as I asked for more info, then I just asked her to remove my name from the list. Then she hung up.
- Robtsimilar to above - "Kevin" from "Work Save Retire" about my resume (how'd he get it?) and to give him a call back toll free at 855-866-5768
I'm sure its a financial scam.- Caller: Work Save Retire

- GJR replies to keister50I got a call today from Work Save Retire and the phone # is in Benson NC 919-701-3072. A conversation ensued and they seemed to be more concerned about my finances than employment even though they had some seach gadget that no one else had. Of course I was leery and baited them on my financial position just to see where it would go. When I did mention that I already had a Professional Financial Advisor that seemed to fall on deaf ears and the woman kept repeating that I will receive an email with an "iteneray" for my phone conversation with the "recruiter" and the "financial planner". Well no such email ever arrived and I believe this company is scamming and possibly trying to get info for theft identity. Call the number I mentioned above The recording does announce "Work Save Retire" and that all "representatives" are busy blah, blah...Be careful dealing with these people. I don't believe they are legit.
- Michelle replies to DonnaThe number they gave me is 855-866-5768 but my caller ID captured a local call from 480-718-0546. Saw my resume on LinkedIn.
- Michelle replies to lizMe too. He was trying to ask me why and I just said please remove me.
- ErnieMy wife received a call from Rachell about a job while I was out. She wanted to talk to me and gave the number 877-651-9478 but when I looked up our call histroy, the number she called on was 972-649-0677. I did post for a position on Career Builder but surely didn't expect this. I haven't called them back yet and probably won't now after reading these posts. I can't believe people would do this to job seekers. I did a reverse lookup and it said the company name was MCI Metro but not sure if this is the callers company or the company providing them with phone services. Thanks to all that posted warning on this number.
- Mike Sinco| 1 replyI just got one also, wanted to know how much I had in retirement, told them I dont disclose this...suppose to call me back also, just gonna let it ring..thanks to all of the input here as the first thing I did after getting off the phone is google this rat trap company or who ever they are.....im skeptical about this one.

- LadyMuse replies to Mike SincoI received this same call today from a Kevin at Work/Save/Retire. The caller ID was a Chicago number, but the return number to call was given as 855-866-5768. I looked up the company because I just was suspicious to begin with and came across this place. I'm so glad I did... Thanks for the heads up, I wont be returning his call.
And on their website at the Contact us page you're required to login to see any address (or whatever information they show, I wouldn't know I didn't create an account) but to the right of the login they say:
"About Work Save Retire:
Work Save Retire is a social network"
Also their LinkedIn page (http://www.linkedin.com/company/work-save-retire) shows 4 employees, no info no pics nothing.
Thanks again all for the heads up on this scam. - M MatThey told me they were calling about a "job". I told them to take me off their calling list and I would be reporting them.
