I never do business with Capital One, and do not have any account the Capital One. Not sure why it calling me everyday about 3 times. How to block this number?

lol the only way i knew the car dealer financed my new car purchase thru capital one is when i googled this phone number to figure out who in 972 was trying to call me.

to date i have received no written loan information saying i even have an accepted loan with them.

Guess they expect you to go late then let you know you have a loan with them and owe them additional fees.

I too have gotten these calls for months at my place of employment, as well as on my cell phone (which they got from my work voice mail). I read Kelly's post above and I did the same thing, I called Capital One at 888-817-2970 and asked to be removed from their calling list. They said my numbers would be removed immediately but while my request was processing (it may take up to a week), I will still receive calls. I spoke w/ Aurora at the number above, nice lady and the process was painless but annoying I have to make the call when I have never had a Capital One account.

This place calls me every day 5 or 6 times a day and Never leave a message.  My car is financed thru my credit union not this place with their high rates.

they asked for Daniel steel I told them i am not him and i had this number for over a year but they continue to call so i called 1-888-817-2970 and told captial one well they wanted my social # and i refused and they hung up on me [***] so i file a complaint with the F.T.C and the do not call registrar and they still call i guess i have to change my number I never had a capital one credit card either

I agree. Capitol One Auto is absolutely ridiculous. I would advise anyone NOT to finance a vehicle with them. It's insane. Even after you make a payment, they keep calling. I just had phone calls within 10 minutes and I will NOT answer. I put the ringer adjustment on their phone numbers to Silent on my cell phone.

I just called the number 1-888-817-2970 also, and she said I had absolutely no account/business with Capital One.  She put me on a Do Not Call list and said the calls should stop within 48 hours.  We'll See!  She also said it is usually a collection company looking for someone else, but trying to call people the debtor might know.  Good luck!

I just let Capitol One finance a new car for me. Now I keep getting calls from this number which I found out is Capitol One. I don't answer #'s I don't know. They leave no message. I get these calls  several times during the day. Just had one and it's 9:15 p.m.!

it looks to me this same god damn number called every one eals besids me and it they dont get a cloue Ime reporiting them [***] as same arits and the low well take it from there.

This number calls me up to 15 times a day.  I don't know who it is.  I have told them and told them to stop calling my number and they refuse to stop.  If it really is Capital One, I have never and will never do business with them.

I have had this phone less than a week and they are calling at least 3 times a day.  They never leave a message.  Have seen in this forum that this is Capital One.

I financed a car through Capital One last week and I've received a call from this number each of the past two days. When I answer they immediately hang up. This is very odd. My 1st payment isn't even due for another month. Why would they be doing this?

I just started getting calls from this number yesterday afternoon.  I haven't had a cc account with them for over 2 years and I just got an auto loan but it is with Citi financial auto loans NOT Capital.  If they keep calling me, I WILL get the attorney general from PA involved as I too, am an employee of the State of PA.  Plus, the phone is registered on the DO NOT CALL list with the government

Someone called from this number and it showed up as anonymous. When I said hello repeatedly nothing was said on the other end.

They will keep calling you because it's an auto-dialer. It usually dials all day long at 15 to 30 minute intervals sometimes. And most of the agents will tell you they can't stop it unless you've got a payment arrangement set with them.  In your case, yes, you'll have to write them or talk to management to get them to take your number out of the database.

I have an ATT Prepaid phone for summer as my normal service doesn't work where I live. Whoever had the number for me must be on a lot of collection lists. I finally get to a person on all these numbers and unsubscribe, but then a new number calls (Sears). This time it's Capital One Auto. I spoke to a person by getting through the menu without entering in any of my personal information. She said they'd take me off the list, but it's still calling. I may try doing what people say and getting a fax number to send them the first page (without personal ID numbers), or writing down the times they call. But for now I've just put their number on "silent" on my cell phone and can't wait to get my old number back.

That would be fine, but for me they are never on the line when I answer.
