Lookup Candidate - Jason| 1 replyI work for them. And yes they are legit company. They area the preferred vendor for IBM along with CDI (another recruiter firm). They got me a temp job with IBM, work from home position.
You guys are absolutely right about them being cheap and offering low hourly rate (I wish I knew how much they charge IBM for hourly rate). Thick accent is a big problem too.. They were also insisted me sending them SS# over email to do background check. I did send them those info in a secure manner after the interview and offered was being made. I can only imagine how secure my information is now when these recruiters keep insisting for SSN via email..- Caller: Artech - www.artechinfo.com
- JasonOh ya and I more thing. Don't work them as they are extremely cheap about paying. Work for CDI instead..

- BFI received a call from (973)993-9383 ext.3402 and and e-mail form this company artechinfo.com. I only have my resume on CareerBuilder so I'm sure they got my info from there. Thankfully I have a job right now.
- JohnThis is a scam phishing for YOUR personal information to use in identity theft. Please use common sense and do not give out your personal information.
- Trisha| 1 replyI have utilized Monster and Careerbuilder over that past few years. This company continues to try to contact me after I have repeadedly ignored a job offer that suspiciously resembles a job that I already have with the same company the position is supposedly available through. The woman I spoke with was very rude and pushy and asked me "exactly how my name appears on my social security card" as well as my SS#. There is no doubt in my mind that this company does not have your best interest in mind and is most likely part of an identity theft ring. In addition, the accent of the woman was thicker than my mom's gravey.

- Katherine in SF Bay AreaI just got a call that was unintelligible, and tracked it to Morristown, New Jersey, then looked it up here! If they want your SS# over the phone, it isn't legitimate because that's against the law, which is of course, illegitimate.
- Caller: couldn't understand it
- Noelle| 1 replyI received the above email today in regards to my resume being posted on monster.com They emailed me and asked me to send my resume. I NEVER give out my SS# over the phone. I know better than that! But I DID send over a word doc of my resume. Do you think I'm safe or should I be concerned?
- bdbI got a call from 973-993-9383 Artechinfo systems from a man (heavy accent), said a client of theirs needed a tech writer with AT&T. I called back several times with no answer. I finally hit the option for their recruiting office and left a message with a "recruiter". When the guy called me back, he claimed he'd been trying to get a hold of me to speak to me about a one year contract they have with AT&T, I would not get any benefits unless I wanted to "buy" them from their company, etc., etc. The guy had send some pushy emails and was pushy on the phone. Seems fishy that a company's recruiters are personnel with accents that are hard to understand. A company doing work in the United States should have recruiters that not only be easily understood but are not so pushy...i.e., "I've been sending you emails and waiting for you to get in touch with me" with a snitty, condescending attitude.

- Bakayarou-sama| 1 replyOK, I too am a smeg head who works for Artech. Yes, they are cheap [***] but sadly, they actually offered more for the job than CDI did (at IBM). Really frustrating but I need a job and in the current economy, you take what you can to pay the bills. Trying to get them to pay a bit more when dealing with an Indian who says English words but doesn't truly understand is a pointless exercise.
The company is legit. It is founded by an Indian chick so it can be proclaimed to be minority-friendly and win accolades from those who care about such things. All of their recruiters are Indian, and I mean all. I'm not sure if they are working in India (it isn't hard to have calls from India routed through the 973 area code since a lot of big companies do something similar for their offshore support to cut phone costs) or if every Indian in NJ is working there, but they have thick accents and don't understand English very well.
Next, they are VERY pushy, even after you accept a job. However, that is typical Indian for you. They have a script that tells them they need to contact you about something and then you need to verify to them that they have contacted you about that something. If they can't get a hold of you, expect lots of phone calls on every phone you have listed with them as well as e-mails.
They do have Americans working at the company in HR and in other spots, such as contacts with their customers (IBM for example). That's so IBM and other companies don't get angry and kick them out over having to deal with unintelligible Indians.
Regarding the SSN issue, Artech doesn't ask for it until you have been offered the job. Then, like ALL companies that perform background checks, Artech has to have your SSN to perform said background check.
Bottom line -- Artech is one of the WORST recruiting companies out there IMO. Your contacts will always be pushy, annoying, unintelligible Indians and your pay will be lower than it should be because they are taking so much for themselves. They stay in business because of that "minority owned" status, which sadly our politically correct country puts value on over substance. However, if you've been unemployed for months, they are better than nothing.- Caller: Artech
- jI responded to a phone call regarding an open position. The position paid very little in comparison to what other contracting firms pay for the same position. Also, they made me nervous when they insisted on getting my birthdate and SSN over the phone. I hung up and decided not to bother with them any more.
- TohoroI got a voicemail from this number. Also I got an email about urgent opening position at Microsoft. I did google search of this position, and I could only find at Craigslist.org with other staffing company, I could not find this position with "Artech Information System LLC" neither on Careerbuilder nor on Monster.
I got a call and email from this guy:

I think their legit, but up to no good...why havent career builders/monster put an end to this? I also hold them responsible for my personal info which is trusted with them. Further more...this isnt the first, it is getting more frequent as the economy gets worst....beware of even more dubious antics!!- Caller: Artech Information System LLC
- Dave| 1 replyReceived an email form them regarding a job posting. I do have my resume on Monster and Career Builder. The position was for a cable splicer, the red flag for me was the only skill needed was Microsoft Outlook.
- AnonymThey are a legit company HQ in New Jersey. As I read other comments, it is true that is very easy to reroute calls from India to the 973 area code.
*Very Cheap when offering pay rates. They want to pay you the LEAST that they can get you at so they can make higher profit!! Ex: You receive an offer from Artech (A). You also receive another offer from a different staffing Agency (B). You are going with company B b/c they offer higher pay rate. If you tell Artech that they will try very hard to convince you to go with them and will increase your pay rate by a couple of dollars. BS! They could offer you more money first time around but doesn't...
*I also agree with another indvidual on here that if they don't ahold of you the first time around (after you got the offer or even about jobs you don't respond to)...be prepared to be harrass by them with phone calls, vms, and emails. Very annoying and shows how desperate they are!!!!
*Indian company go figure. They way they operate is absurd! I would NOT recommend to work for them either as a contractor or a full-time employee! Look how they operate and the never ending complaint list. If they are paying contracts rate to the ground...full time employees rates will be the same! - ITConsultantHi Jason:
You worked fro Artech. Has Artech modify or denj your timesheet report after the client approval ?
Has Artech modify your pay rate without contract regontiation (your consent) ?
I received an offer for contract. The contract has several unreasonable terms like the above two. - SunflowerI just got an email in regards to a position with a Telecom Giant from these folks. Is AT&T the Telecom Giant? I called and left a message in response. So from what I can read it sounds like they low-ball on the payrate to the employee so they can keep the high margin from the company? Since this is virtual recruiting at what point do they ask for your SS#?

I have 1000s of link if you need you are most welcome. - Tenzo| 1 replyThey contracted with me to work through them for IBM
When I got my first paycheck it was for $10 / hour.
They said they do that for the first 30 days as a probationary period.
I quit as soon as I heard this - GregArtech calls me every couple of weeks. It's always some Indian person with a thick accent. Normally, they call at an inconvenient time (like when I'm picking up my kids from day care) and I ask them to e-mail me the information, then they don't follow through.
They couldn't get hold of me this afternoon and e-mailed me about a technical editor gig at Microsoft, so I mailed back and they called again like five minutes later. They wanted more information and asked for the last four digits of my social security number so they could start my file. I told them to use the last four digits of my phone number.
The call quality was terrible. The guy kept breaking up, and combined with his accent, it was next to impossible to understand him.
If you get an offer, Microsoft will require a background check and you will have to provide your SSN, but that isn't until you actually get the offer. Basically, the offer will be conditional on passing the check. And since most positions at Microsoft are "A-" (A Dash), where you're a W2 employee of the contract agency rather than an independent contractor (which is a V Dash position), the agency will need your SSN for tax reporting. BUT, until there's an offer on the table, they have no valid need for your SSN.- Caller: Artech
