- tommyngina| 3 repliesThis is a text message from the internet.
- mark wilson| 1 replywho is this?
- Barry Meersplease get these peoeple to stop text messaging me
- Ezra| 1 replyThis is the number that gets placed on my bill when someone sends an email message to my cell phone. I have Verizon service, so people can send me a txt message from any email address or program (like yahoo or gmail or their ISPs email).
For a Verizon customer, you just send the message to an email address that is made up like this;
lets say the phone number for the Verizon customer is 222-555-7777. You send the email to 2225557777@vtext.com
The cell phone will get the email as a text message. - kjc1124| 5 repliesIs there any way to find out who is sending the email?
- Herbert Oedel| 1 replyHow can I stop this type of text message? Can I discontinue all text messages from my phone? Why do I have to pay for such a text message that I do not want or solicate?
- Thany| 2 repliesIs there any way to find out who is sendig the email to my husband?
- aWebmaster| 4 repliesI'll tell you from first hand, that these txt messages are in fact being sent BY A PERSON, from a website, as explained a couple emails above mine. It's easy to send txt messages from a website, and would require that someone know your cell number, and that they are intentionally wanting to be annonymous!!! If I was a woman worried about my man getting these--(and, I am a woman, but with no man)--I'd talk to him about who could be sending them--it's the new technology being used by people who know how to use it--and, from my experience, it is symptomatic of dating in this new millennium. You SHOULD also know that you should be able to log into your cell account online, and set your preferences to NOT receive emails from websites. I just did this myself, through Verizon!!! Works great.

- Chris| 6 repliesI found this on my bill and looked into it, I have signed up for a weather alert system that my county provides (severe weather alerts). The number that shows up on verizon's text log is 0000006245. You people had me paranoid before I discovered what it was, calm down a bit and do some research.
- MaureenHarrassment
- JennIt's deft from an email address, on the bill it shows up as 00006245, but the persons email address where they sent it from came through on the phone but no the bill
- NicoI get these from the MBTA because I signed up for text alerts.
- Que| 2 repliesI started receiving a barrage of weird emails last weekend. The first one was from an IL area code and it addressed me by the nickname I have setup on my Verizon account. This is not a name that anyone I know, would know. It is something that I made up. So, I was a bit perplexed and made the mistake of replying and asking who the person was.
BIG mistake!!! From that point, it was sporadic nonstop text messages. The nature of them were as if we were friends and we were actually having a conversation. Some were from the 0000006245 number and others were from various fictitious numbers.
I had to have Verizon block ALL of my text messages because the block under preferences did not work! I can't function like this because this is the main mode of communication between my son and I.
Verizon needs to take responsibility for this issue! - gwI also have received several text messages from this number, but in my case they were not spam or someone interested in dating. They border on threats. They were also from 0000006245
- jabba hutif you'll look at your cell phone bill, you'll notice that you can send OR receive messages from the number... it could be ANYONE texting you, whether it's an alert, or a text from a friend or family member online or whatever.
- Red Ryder| 1 reply0000006245 appears if someone sends you a message using Verizon's www.vtext.com. You can't tell who it is from. We use it all the time in the office to send text messages to our people on the road. It is simple to use and the receiving phone is charged for the message, while the one sending it from the PC is not. A bonus is that it helps you fit the message in to the limited number of characters you have to work with by using "Speak In Text".
- TENNESSEEGUY| 1 replyI had TXT messages on my phone to and from my number which I did not make. They are from 6245. I did not sign up for TXT messaging from Verizon and I don't make them. The charge on my bill was $453.00. When I taked to Verizon, Ryan and Linda told me that if I didn't want TXT messages I was supposed to "request" verizon put a block on my phone, and if I didn't then I would have to pay for the messages. I argued that how could I know to request a "block" on a product from them that I didn't sign-up for anyway? No one at their store informed me that I had to request a block for TXT Messages since I didn't sign up for it. I argued with them that they should automatically place a block on any customers phone who does NOT sign up for text messaging and that we customers should not have to "request" it! They said they would credit my account. I hope to see the credit on next months bill because I am deducting it from my bill anyway. I suspect that if enough of us customers complained to the FCC, that there might be something that can be done. Maybe we all should send emails to Chairman Kevin J. Martin: KJMWEB@fcc.gov
The Chairman would take QUICK action to prevent his mailbox being flooded with emails! - James J. Paugh| 1 replyHow can I stop these unwanted text messages. They cost 20 cents each.
- kellyI am sick and tired of this person texting me EVERYDAY at 8:00 a.m. How can I get them to stop?
- joie| 14 repliesi am trying so hard to keep my relationship. however, i did a doublecheck on our phone & texting and i came up with some wierd stuff. im really glad you all are talking about this because this is what i needed to go over too.
i guess i am upset, i am in a relationship with a guy that isnt so easy to trust. He is very good at keeping things under the down n low. i myself have seen on our bills this:
Date Time To From Direction Message Type
09/28/2008 12:49 AM myguys# 0000006245 Received Domestic - Text
09/28/2008 12:50 AM 0000006245 myguys# Sent Domestic - Textxt
so now HE's texting back!! this is really frustrating. I found a phone number at 1:20 am and called it. its a girl whos not even graduated from middleschool yet. now im really worried. she sent him a pic and he sent it to a verizon pictures website that only he has the login and pass to. i own both numbers....im going to at this point, redo the login while holding his phone and erase the new pass i get on the phone so he doesnt know i actually am getting into an account IM paying for! i talked to this girl and acted as though i called a wrong number and she was very honest and said gee, no i dont think i know you im not even in high school yet...
my mouth dropped open. she texted him again later in the month. now when i look at our online texting bills there are stacks and stacks of 000000xxx numbers. what am i to think?
please folks, give me some advice.
