It seems they are now busy scamming in the Netherlands....
Just received a call, with an automated message that I won a cruise and had to press 9 to continue........

Yeah right, I still believe in fairy tales ;-)

They also tried to call me today (15th oct, in the netherlands), but I missed the call. After searching on the internet I learned there isn't a landcode 0021 and ended up on this site. Thanks Luc, for being so curious and sharing your story ;-)

I got a call from 00213775233750 in France 16 October, didn't answer...

I got a similar call today.
A computervoice told me i won a trip to the caribbean (which was quite a coincidence, since I returned from the caribbean today!) and my call was being transferred.
Within a few seconds, I actually spoke to a woman on the other end, who asked me for some sort of activation code.
When I told her I did not have such a code, she asked me for my phone-number. When I asked if she did not know who she was callig, she said no and the line went quiet, but not dead. After some seconds of no response, I hung up.

Since apparently a lot of people in Europe (I live in The Netherlands) receive similar calles, and on this site there are a lot of phonenumbers like this, i guess it is a scam.

If not, I just lost a free holiday to the caribbean :)

But seriously, I don't think these callers can be trusted!

I got a call tonight from this no. The guy told me that he wanted to check my phonenumber to see if I had won a cruise to the Bahama's. As I asked him for more details he explained that they had opened a new branche of some sort of a traveling company in Orlando and they were randomly calling fifty numbers a day. Of course my number turned out to be a "winner" and he wanted to make me an offer. I told him I was not interested.
I defenitely sounded like a scam. He spoke with a slightly African sounding accent (Nigerian?) I hung up and found these messages om the internet.It defenitely sounds fishy.

On the site whocalled.us there are similar reports about the phonenumber (214) 279-0990. Apparantly an unknown Texasnumber.

I'm from the Netherlands. On 18-10-2008 into the evening I go a phonecall from the number 002142790990. The computer I got on the line was telling me that I won a price. I only had to press 9. I hang up.
I hope they will stop call people and that I wil not have to pay for this call.

I was called from this number today. Sombody was speaking very fast about Carribian something... I didn't listen so much, I closed the line as fast as possible.

Apparantly they are calling Linköping, Sweden right now. I hung up before I heard anything more than "Congratulations, you have won a..."

Yea, scamming in Linköping, Sweden now got a call but didn't answer.
