Just had this number ring me - automated "goodbye" and hang up. Typed in this number into google and found the forum... was worried about the scam where they ring you and next thing you are changed phone providers!

Basically you just gave them full access to your computer.

When you hear [***]'s call, you should have the initiative to know its a scam.

A little Racist comment there pal, you are more likely to be a victim of our home grown variety of Travelling scum than you are of being stupid enough to believe some foreign guy on the phone!

We got a call to-day in Holland, saying we had a problem with Windows.
We hung up, as we got Apple !

Just had a call from the same number this minute asking me was I ?? and she had the name correct and..telling me that Window Live Update is sending her a message that she needs to amend on my computer..she went on to tell me to turn on my computer and she'd fix it..my reply was..if ya think you're going to Con me get a life and I hung up..the bloody cheek..can Phone companies not trace this call!!

From Ireland. Same here, they call, silence, they hang up!!! Usually the number comes us as 'Unavailable', but today it was from the 00253820308

This number rang my landline this afternoon. I was busy outside and didn't answer it. Just as well judging by the comments here.

Missed the call earlier today. Now they moved to Dublin (Ireland).

I Live in Republic of ireland and just had this call from same number, Indian sounding man claiming to be from Windows Microsoft telling me I had a virus impending and it needs to be sorted, I became suspicious and found this site told him to ring back in 1 hour. Now he going to get it when he rings back !!!!!

Yes, got this call today.  Young daughter pick up the Phone, and gave it to me, saw the caller ID with this number, I hung up as I did not recognized country code.  A few months ago, the wife was almost victimized with these people and was convinced that our computer has a virus.  They were able to get into the computer when the wife called me on the mobile phone and I told her to disconnect the Modem and hung up the phone.  Run my virus System and it seems the computer is ok up.  I live in Ireland too.

My wife received a call just half an hour ago. He talked very pourly English, so she could not understand him properly. He will call back tonight at 6 so I could speak to him. I now know better and will not speak to him. We live in Holland.

Someone tried calling me today from this number. I'm in Ireland and trying to watch the match. dammit don't these guys know no calling during the soccer. Its a Djibouti no. apparently

Same story. They new are first name also. Scary. My husband hung up inmediatly.

I live in the Netherlandse this number called us twice now, first time I answered the phone after a weak introduction (hello I'm from ...... service) I immediately pressed away. second time we were not at home.

they called me to 3 times a indian guy from liverpool said something about my pc but i hung up but they keep calling me back real annoying

This company have rang my home and asked to speak to my wive.  They asked for her by name even though she never gave it to them, nor is the phone in her name.  She hung up. Again like many people before they say that they are from Microsoft.

I rang Microsoft who have a recorded message saying that they do not cold call people.

My mother has been getting calls from a man saying hes from Microsoft and there is a virus on are computer from various numbers.  I finally answered the phone and the number was 00243820308 a previous number was 00401. Our phone company in Ireland "Eircom" can not block international numbers so now we just hang up everytime. Its very annoying.

We even had them say they are from Eircom broadband service and need to update are antivirus, which Eircom does do. So i make sure my mother hangs up and rings Eircom to schedule the time they will ring  hervto update the antivirus; to make sure its illegitimate.

Just in from my work and had 4 calls on my answer machine.  No message just hung up.  I was curious so googled the no.  Thanks to this site and information i know not to answer this number.

Just got a call from this number pretending to be from a pc security firm and telling me that my pc had been hacked. Indian sounding guy who asked for me by name. I told him he was talking [***] and hung up. What a clown to thnk I would fall for tht one
