These so - called callers (led to believe from scamming Microsoft) called today did not leave a message as my TRUE CALL machine stopped them dead in their tracks.

REMEMBER - Microsoft NEVER repeat NEVER call you - on registration YOU do not supply any telephone numbers! This from their answer to my e-mail!

ALL this happen upon closing my account with an extremely poor internet via TalkTalk aand after stating I was quitting it all started and have kept records of all number - none seem to be UK based!!
They seem as above just to be passing numbers on FOR cash purpose - also look out for either survey or insurance SCAMS vai this lot.

NEVER confirm any details with these IDIOTS or let them have access to your PC!!

If by previous calls they are not a genuine company as they DO NOT supply a name that can be tracked PLUS having worked at the Home Office you can ask them - if you let them - for their company's registration number at companies house London - if genuine you can check - else tell them you are not interested and not to call back else you will be taking them to court for £50K for annoying you if they persist!

Telephone companies do nothing they are just happy to take the money for any calls, Telephone preference (TPS) are a waste of time as well as the Police who do nothing as well!

Okay not a cheap machine is the TRUE CALL but has reduced calls from three to seven a day to practically nothing - one every week now. It allows you to decide who to accept (see their web-site for demonstration) and then can be blocked - ONLY TRUE genuine calls get through.

As above you can pay to stop these calls but NOTHING much gets done until this unit was brought into action

Why don't these annoying PLEBS and MORONS just disappear up their own backsides.

Gistermiddag gebeld door een Indiaas-Engels sprekende man die zei van het 'Windows-department' te zijn. Hij wist mijn achternaam en wilde dat ik achter de computer zou gaan zitten. Ik vertrouwde het niet en heb hem verteld dat ik zijn identiteit niet kon controleren; daarna opgehangen. Vast iemand die aan je netwerkgegevens of je bankgegevens probeert te komen!

Ook ik heb reeds enkele malen een onduidelijk telefoontje gehad van iemand die in een overstaanbaar accent in het engels iets mompelde van microsoft. De laatste keer gaf mijn nummerherkenning het nummer 00501 aan. Ik ben er uiteraard niet op ingegaan maar vraag mij wel af hoeze aan mijn nummer komen.

Misschien zou microsoft hier iets aan moeten doen?

Zojuist door dit nummer gebeld en vanmorgen door een ander nummer, dat hier ook op het forum staat. Ik neem simpelweg niet op als ik dit soort nummers op mijn display zie. Ze proberen inderdaad toegang tot je computer te krijgen. Hier ergens op het forum staat daar een heel verhaal over en ze proberen je anti-virussoftware aan te smeren voor een bedrag van honderden dollars. Kortom oplichters! Gewoon telefoon niet opnemen en wat ik soms ook wil doen als het aanhouders zijn is een hondenfluitje pakken, telefoon oppakken en heel hard blazen. Je wordt gegarandeerd niet teruggebeld.

00501 is a free connection to Belize, free for the caller that is, the bill ends up at your address. DON'T PICK UP THE PHONE

Got also a call from the numer 0051. Same people with the same scam. Dont pick up they are fraude people who are attemting to sell you antivitus or ge into your comuter

Gisteren en vandaag ben ik door 00501-nummer gebeld. Gisteren heb ik opgenomen, ik vond het al een vreemd tel.nr. Ik zei mijn naam, toen hoorde ik een vrouw (heel in de verte) in een andere taal tegen mij praten. Ik heb haar, haar zin niet eens laten afmaken en heb gelijk opgehangen (weet ook niet waar het over ging!).
Vandaag 15.55 uur werd ik weer door dit nummer gebeld, maar heb niet opgenomen. Ik vertrouw het voor geen meter... aangezien we vorig jaar ook al eens geskimd zijn.
Morgen maar telefonisch contact opnemen met Ziggo, eens informeren of ze niet op onze kosten zitten te bellen ofzo?

Ben inmiddels enkele malen gebeld door 00501. Inderdaad een slecht Engels sprekende man. Mijn vrouw neemt meestal op en geeft de telefoon door aan mij, nadat ik vraag wie ze moeten hebben hangen ze op.

Ik ben ook gebeld door een vrouw en iderdaad ook in de verte een chinese engels sprekende vrouw die een of ander praatje had over onze computer ik vertrouw heb voor geen meter dus als mn ouders zo thuiskomen zal ik ze kpn wel laten bellen

dont  fall for them  they are trying to gain control of your c#omputer i just had them on the phone,strung them on for 20 mins, acting stupid lol , then i got bored  so told them to go have sex with a cow  , lol  ie they come from india and the  cow there holly animal, so  he was not happy  lol

we received twice a call from 00501  and one time a private number from microsoft..( ???)
indian accents, say  our computers are infected...
of course we ended the calles immediately.

vorige week voor de eerste keer gebeld... een man met een vreemd  Engels  accent begon een heel verhaal...vertrouwde het gelijk al niet en heb gelijk opgehangen...vandaag voor de 2e keer gebeld en dus niet weer opgenomen...

Well I just had a call, an Indian accent man asked me for someone, I told him that he had the wrong number so he asked for my name instead. I told him again he had the wrong number and put the phone down. He called back straight away, told me 'f**k off' and hung up!! Fuming.. Cheeky pest

Just received the call, supposedly Microsoft - or "Windows" regarding an infection that Windows are aware of on my PC - an "on-line infection".  , I explained my concerns over their validity at which point they advised they would not be taking anything from me and had a couple of off line checks they advised my to do on my PC.  I sat down in front of my PC, turned off my internet connection and then began the process.  All the while checking out their story on a 3G connection.  Didn't get far before I advised there was someone at the door.  Put them on hold for a while, did a little more research, disconnected them.  They then rang back again, from this number: 009999 100230 00501.  I don't know if anyone anywhere does investigate these things and even if the second call from the same guy but with the new number would help them if they did, but I do hope so, just cannot find anywhere to report it, other than here.

Unfortunately, because these thieves are 'phoning from India, they are out of the reach of our authorities.  The fact that they use hundreds of fake numbers, via Skype, makes them even harder to trace. What it needs is for as many people as possible to know that neither Microsoft, nor its partners, would ever 'phone.  It would be a breach of their privacy rules.The people who 'phone know nothing about the computer.  They rely on scare tactics and lack of computer knowledge.  The want remote access to the computer so that they can install spyware/malware to steal personal information.  There have been several programmes on BBC1 over the past few months which have exposed this scam, but more needs to be done.

Got acall from this number at 9:00 am my partner answered, she was asked if she was the home owner and our usaul answer this is no. They asked for vthe owner she they are not here. With that they hang up.

Had a call from 00501. The woman said she's calling from Microsoft Technical Support & they've detected a virus on my computer. (That's what the virus / phisher / scamsters often say: Microsoft DON'T call people like this). Asked where she was & she said 100 Victoria St, London. Checked & that's indeed Microsoft's London office, so they've done some homework.

Damn, I was hoping the massive power cuts in India would stop these idiots for a day...
