00501

I got a call from this number today. I always stay silent when I answer the phone, let them speak first. With this number nobody spoke so I hung up. I do this with any number I don't recognise.

I did once hear the cold caller complaining 'why did I pick up the phone if I wasn't going to speak?' he was pretty annoyed! Didn't seem to get the irony of it either..

No point getting into a discussion with them, they love a good argument and they love causing stress, I guess it's the high point of their job..

So it's not enough that half of India, Bangladesh and the Philippines want to make a buck out of people in the UK from making claims [PPI, accidents, etc.], now we have others in Belize at it too. Don't we have enough parasites jumped on the bandwagon here, without the rest of the world wanting a piece of the action? Jeesh!

Just had call from this number, foreign sounding gent asked if he was speaking to Mr.Pauline. When I said that is my wifes name and said you have her husband, he said "Oh" went silent for 3-4 secs, then line went dead. It's a Belize code apparently.

Have just received a call from 00501 and it was in fact a company we deal with regularly but they explained that they are using Voip phones!

These people are complete [***].  It is a total scam, some bulls**t about computer issues.  The first time they called they said I had a problem with my windows computer.... I don't use windows.  They have called me 4 times now even though I just hang up.  I mean, how stupid do they think people are?  As soon as you hear the foreign accent, just hang up.  What annoys me the most is that my number is supposed to be ex-directory!

Today I had a call from the no.004065 and he know my proffesion but not my name starting shouting on me when ask from whre are you speaking he don't tell me

I just got a call from 00501 I didn't answer cos I though it would be some foreign bull [***] trying to sell me something!! They left a message sayin PAUL 1:45 which was the time he rang!! Weird......

Got a call from these people asking to speak to the Sky+ owner.
Don't have Sky so now I await the call trying to sell me Sky. Looking forward to that call!!

i have had a few of these calls from 00501... the first one i mistakenly picked up and then the phone rang again in my ear as if i'd dialed out... and i was asked for by name..i put the phone down after hearing a male "foreign" accent..having been targeted over the last couple of years by constant ppi calls on loans we cant find any record of, we've had enough

at first i was thinking that this is yet another case of me answering their calls and them passing my number on for £5 as an active line..
having looked on the internet and read up on it..i now think they have found a way of making YOU pay for answering THEIR call..and it wont be cheap either

I usually don't answer these unusual numbers but mt husband goes mad if i don't answer the phone so did answer this one, no-one spoke although i suspected someone was there.  It's a pity these lowlife have nothing else to occupy their time & I'm assuming this is a scam. When I'm at my mother's she gets these calls & being almost 101 years old she answers all her calls as assumes it'll be someone she knows. She has very little sight so cannot read the number that comes up & wouldn't have time to anyway. She used to dial 1471 for the number & ring back to see who it was but i've told her not to as not only does it cost her to do that, it'll be a scam and there won't be a message. If it's a genuine number they will leave a message.  I guess not enough people are reporting these calls as we seem to be getting more and more so nothing seems to be done. No our it's very difficult to know where these people are and track them down but something needs to be done to stop them.

just stupidly answered a call from this number,was expecting a call from someone else so didnt check caller display.
no one spoke to me just a lot of Indian sounding chatter in the background for a few mins then the line went dead.
so looked up on here and have now blocked the number from my phone but i expect they have ways and means to get round it,this type of lowlife always do grrrrr.

Lifted the phone yesterday as on the caller ID it showed up as a friend.  Then this foreign voice came on asking for the householder.  Told them they had the wrong number & I hung up.  Checked my other handset which did not have this friend's number to discover it was 00501.  They seem to be finding a way of using other friends telephone numbers!  This has happened a few times but nobody on the other end.  Have now deleted friend's number off my handset as I know it off by heart.  Have also blocked the number.  Will see what happens now!

am being pestered with these scam, re computer not working, wrong address delivery, PPI a,etc, calls and am getting really frustrated I have telephone preference but it makes No difference whatsoever when will the government stop this tripe ???  Seems everyone in this Country is out to get something for nothing!!!!!!

That may be true, at least it might be if the number was a UK number.         As for TPS, you expect too much.      That service is provided free by the UK Sales and Marketing industry to reduce the number of calls made by legitimate UK businesses.   PPI recovery is hardly legitimate sales.   Wrong address delivery is hardly sales at all, and is often a tactic used by debt collectors.  Computer not working is clear fraud.    

You need to think about where to place the blame for all these nuisance calls and seriously consider blocking the calls before you explode with exasperation.
