00501

In the past week I have received a call twice (so far) from 00501. Since this is an unknown number I did not pick up the phone but waited for a message to be left. They didn't. I consulted with the police and they suggested to google the numer. This is how I found this page right here. What really gets me is that my phone number is not listed in any directory though I may have left it in the internet taking care of biz.This cyberworld is giving me the creeps anyways...

Just got a call from this number. After about ten seconds the line went dead.

I've had calls at our business number every day for the last two weeks from this number.  So far, they've hung up every time the phone has been answered.  Really annoying.  I'm also getting calls from 0091101 doing exactly the same thing - sometimes two or three times each day!

Another call from this number, I'm assuming it's a 'skype type' affair or some kind of allocated 'text like' number...I get a number of calls from similar type numbers, the worst offender being '00 00 00 00 0'...that number has been reported on this site also :(

I have just received a call from this number and it is obviously a scam. I was told by somebody who could barely speak English that they were cancelling 'all' my credit cards because I owed the Bank some money. !!!
Yer right.

put phone down when I picked up, but i googled the number, amateur scam merchants- everything from ppi to puter viruses

A gent saying he was from Windows support and my computer was sending error messages.

I am not on Windows. He wouldn't tell me where he was calling from or what company other than "Windows Support"

Got a call today from (00501 phone number) female claiming their server has picked up my computer has been hacked into and my data is in danger of being stolen. Scare tactics. They will get you to look into a Log and filter on the errors and warnings and there will be some listed. It told her it was a fraudulent call and I would report it to the police. At which point she laughed, knowing the police would do nothing, and said ‘Why do you say that, you're computer is in danger.' I had to laugh, and told her I work in IT and she is trying to scam me. They will try to get access to your computer and may ask for your debit/credit card/bank details (Try to sell you some antivirus software). Don't be taken in!!! My parents have had similar calls. I'm ringing about your computer; they laugh and tell them 'I don't have a computer' then put the phone down. It's sad to know some people may be taken in. Spread the word!

These are SCAMMERS finding any way to access your computer....an Indian woman Chantelle or Lisa Greene comes on the phone (they use different phone numbers this is just one of they numbers) & either says shes calling from PC Help or Microsoft or Googlemail....they are NOT who  they say they are......DONT LET THEM ACCESS YOUR COMPUTER......report them to the police!

Shortly after had a call from a 'not available' number... I'd guess it was the same people?!

unsecured funds for businesses.
Wanted to send me details through.
Asked if I had credit card facilities which I don't & then told me they'd send the info through....can't see how as they never took an address!!!!!
(Not that I would have given it to them!)

claimed to about a survey, very bad line. followed half hour after call from '0', claiming to be ministry of justice, and half hour before that we had 01234567890, which was a silent call, the number has 17 pages of complaints on this website alone.

Woken up after night shift for second time.No message just silence on end of phone.Really annoying and like to put a stop to this.

Just had a call from this number. No answer and hung up. Grr!

Called me today and said he was doing a short household survey- I used to do cold calling so I felt bad and just went along with it. Asked me a bunch of completely disconnected questions about my washing machine make, TV make, whether I'd taken out a loan, it was bizarre. Even asked me what my favourite colour was at one point. Can't believe I went along with it for so long. Let my stupidity be a lesson for all.
