ook bij mij ging vanmiddag om 16:38 de telefoon met vermeldingnummer 00501.Ik kreeg 'n Engelssprekende dame aan de lijn,en noemde naar mijn grote verbazing de achternaam van mijn vrouw!! en noemde ik daarna mijn achternaam,toen zei ze - YOU DOWNLOAD MUSIC FROM WINDOWS-waarop ik antwoorde -JA VAN    I-TUNES.en vroeg ik wat er aan de hand was, meteen daarna viel de verbinding weg!! Ik vertrouwde het niet,en nu nog steeds niet,ik heb meteen mijn provider opgebeld,ook op internet het nummer opgezocht,en kwam ik vele reacties tegen van deze side waarop ik nu antwoord.ik heb ook meteen de Politie gewaarschuwd,en heeft mij te kennen gegeven dat ik de computer goed in de gaten moet houden!! als er "gekke"dingen gebeuren!! ook hebben ze mij het tel.nr.gegeven hiervoor.Ik vindt het zeer onaangenaam want hoe komen ze in Godshemelsnaam aan je tel.nr.!!!

This person from 00501 trying to reclaim ppi cover I may have paid. Reported him to the police for harassing us at home. Barred these nuisance calls via telephone preference service website. Which was very easy to do. Also barred the number 0050.

just had a call of these but didnt answer, they left me a message but it was a blank message no noise or anything had quite a few of these messages over past month really annoying one day i might answer and give them a piece of my mind!

I have just had a call at 07.50am... Scared me to death as I have a son who is currently serving in the forces...!  Well an asian speaking man said my computer was sending out lots of spam... Be warned this is just a scam to get into your computer... How do you stop these calls...?

Just had two calls from this in quick succession, no one there when I picked up.

Got a call from this unknown number 00501
No one on other end so I hung up ????

Indian voice answered and said she was from Microsoft Service. I said thank you not interested. I'm sure this is not genuine

Had a call from this number at 10.46 on 11  June.   No one there.

Just had call from this number, noone there.  If they are the ones claiming to be Microsoft - then understand that Microsoft do NOT make calls or conduct business in this manner.  I have reported to Microsoft in the past that these people are claiming to be them and they are aware.  Have in the past been told (or maybe saw here) there are two kinds of this call.  1.  Is to tell you that you have a virus and the keys they ask you to press take you to the Event Viewer of your system and they show you standard warnings and errors that are in there and scare those that do not know better to sign up for a protection service.  They get you to let them onto the computer and they clear these and then sell you a service to protect your computer - I know one person who went this route and didn't have the money to sign up so they didn't sign up - they were almost convinced to go into the red for this and then thought they would check them out first.  2.  They get onto your computer and install something that then collects personal data from it.  Either way - they are NOT Microsoft and they are NOT genuine protectors of data.

Vandaag om precies 10.00u gebeld 00501, correct engels sprekende man met toch een Indiaas accent.
Hij was van Microsoft en belde due to my Windows computer. Ik luisterde en kon geen woord uitbrengen. Het werd stil aan de andere kant van de lijn en de verbinding verbrak.

Gelijk melding gemaakt bij de politie!

For 14 days I recieve a call from number 00501 when I take the call I hear nothing or a short answer like "good night" I do not known who is calling me, but I'm affraid somewhane is stealing my number

Same here. Received a similar call. I said there are no windows computers in my house, only mac's.
Then de guy immediately hung up....
Should I take action?

Frequently receive calls from this unidentified number claiming to be Microsoft and expressing concerns about problems on my computer.  I know this is not Microsoft and there are no problems with my computer having kept the system up to date.

It is time our telephone providers had systems in place to stop (r) stop these attempts at criminal activity.

I too just got the same call, they just hung up! It is really annoying as im ex directory. Really worried tho as my bank flagged fraudulent activity on my card and had to cancel it!....NOT HAPPY

13:00 ging de telefoon. Ik neem op na even naar het nummer gekeken te hebben, zeg hallo, het is stil en daarna zegt een prettige vrouwenstem (een recording?) goodbye. Ik heb het bij mijn provider UPC gemeld maar krijg verder uit de reacties op deze site de indruk dat het niet erg ernstig is tenzij je ze op je computer laat klooien.

Krijg ook van die belachelijke telefoontjes. Zie dat het al gemeld is bij de politie, maar wat doet die ermee???? Zelf gebeld met Ziggo (mijn provider) maar die kunnen dus niets doen ook niet blokkeren.

since then, I have had two calls which showed up as 'unavailable' (meaning they were foreign) and one of them was at nearly 4am this morning.  They are now calling me every few days and it's getting more frequent.  This is pretty annoying, I was woken up this morning by them.
