- Dobbie replies to the truth will set you free| 2 repliesUK Apollo Group seem to prosper on misrepresentation and then trying to intimidate people into paying up. John Biggs was a classic used car salesman, all smiles and hollow promises, but underneath, not a nice person. According to LinkedIn he is Chairman of the Saffron Walden Conservative Association...........wonder what they think of his antics.
- the truth will set you free replies to Dobbie| 1 replyI believe that there misrepresentation should be publicized as much as possible how can one company from reading all theses posts charge one guy £x amount and for the same service charge someone else more do they just pluck numbers out of thin air like if major organizations did this they would be fined i say watchdog should be called or the trading standards also when you call to speak to Alex smith or Jamie sherwell etc they are mysteriously unavailable also when i met with one of the consultants in the Leeds office he didn't know who these people where strange as they say they are calling on there behalf
- Dobbie replies to the truth will set you freeIt's unlikely that there is anything genuine about UK Apollo Group. They have many people with names that are non-specific on gender, Sam, Alex, Jamie, Pat, can all be male or female, just depends who answers the phone. Also, their LinkedIn profiles don't mention UK Apollo Group, just 'A well respected consultancy', 'leading HR management company'.......yeah right!
- Terry Brandon replies to the truth will set you free| 1 replyI was contacted by someone on behalf of Geoffrey Russel and I went to meet with him at Cavendish Sq. I already knew the bldg and its obvious that it is serviced offices - so far so not very remarkable, many co's work out of such places these days. Geoff then proceeded to talk at me for 40 mins. Actually what he had to say was plausible ( naturally), but my antenna were well and truly twitching. I'm working anyway so I agreed to a further meeting and did a little digging ( didn't find this string though - sadly). When I met with Geoff the second time I remarked that I was very skeptical about the website testimonials, only first names, not verifiable and many with the same structure and syntax, Geoff expressed surprise and professed to have had no input in sourcing these. After another period of being talked at we got on to the issue of the 'unadvertised job market' I asked the obvious question only to be told that the answer was part of their I. P.
I was decidedly unhappy about that, anyway at the end Geoff handed me a piece of paper with a list of services for a fee of 5k but if I made a payment in full by the end of Feb reducing to 4K - classic hard sell tactic, reminiscent of 1990's double- glazing salesmen. The ' contract' was appallingly prepared and completely amateurish. No co. Reg no, no vat detail, and promised nothing but access to a databases
Anyway ,discussed the whole thing with a bona Fidel recruiter and he said , ' stay well away' these people are bloodsucker preying on the vulnerable - Simon, soon to be Ex Forces replies to Terry BrandonThanks to all for your comments on this forum. I too received the various phone calls, texts and emails from Apollo and in my naivety replied and set up a meeting. 'Sam Wright' and 'Mr Biggs' also appear to be fans of mine and just could not wait to meet me!
Lucky I found this forum just prior to arranging transport and the purchase of a new suit! Told them to take a long walk off a short pier.
Words fail me that they should be doing this to people who are a a very difficult time in their life. May their next .... be a hedgehog! - DeputyClearly a scam. I got the same email and a quick google led here. They are preying on people who don't use social media to get jobs.

- SluthWell any one who is considering meeting with one of these people should consider two issues;
1. in Our People section you will note that there are no CV's of these supposed experts. Would it not be normal to have a resume of the years of HR experience these people have? An oversight? not a chance, its because they mostly don't have any more experience than you, and lying is fraud when they ask you for a FAT fee.
2. If you look at the pictures of their people a question to ask yourself. Why would any reputable national company post what appears as a rouges gallery of ATM fraudsters (think Crime Watch) on their website unless it is what is appears to be?
Finally a fool and their money are easily parted.- Caller: Apollo
- Job Hunter| 2 repliesThanks to everyone for posting their experiences and warnings on here. I applied for a legitimate job through Exec2Exec and received a reply stating my CV and details have been sent to the company advertising the job. What I did miss was the bit below:
As an additional service for our valued clients, our sister company, Apollo, are offering all Exec2Exec clients a free career review. To arrange this in your local office please forward your CV, advising your current salary to james.denham@apollo.eu.com or alternatively visit the website www.apollo.eu.com
Was a bit taken aback when the registration confirmation email from Exec2Exec showed my username and password in plain text! Will avoid Exec2Exec for future job applications.
The email from Sam Wright didn't take long, less than an hour. I called the number and spoke to a 'Gregory Mann' who had the patter but couldn't get my head round why they were so keen to meet and wouldn't have an initial discussion over the phone. They knew nothing about my industry and refused to give their Senior Exec's name, only referring to him as 'Mr. Storey' .
It just didn't feel right. Found Nick Storey on their website and after much searching arrived here - am so glad I didn't waste my time meeting with these parasitic leeches.- Caller: Apollo

Career Analysis
Give them all a wide berth.
In a way I think it is sad that these people have reached such a dead-end in their own careers that blagging money out of people using hollow promises is all they have left to offer. I wonder if their friends and family are proud - sad, perhaps they should just retire. - Job Hunter replies to Dobbie@Dobbie. Appreciate the sanity check and list of associated scam artists. Unfortunately having had the misfortune to cross paths with these kind of individuals they not only see themselves as being a cut above others but often the law. What they are doing may not be technically illegal but it is certainly sharp practice. Fraud is still robbery but with a smile...
Worth noting that I didn't get any kind of response for the legitimate job through Exec2Exec, their website just shows the status as forwarded. After applying for the same job through a bona fide agency I got a call and email from the recruiter the next day! In addition there's no way to remove your profile from their site, you can change your details but it appears impossible to fully de-register. - Davidhatestimewasters| 1 replyTrue to form I have also had the mail follow up from Taylor CV's
Now as CV's are about presentation etc and getting it right you would think they would proof read their mails!!! See below an exert from it, I think it helps build the picture of these people!

- Sigh replies to DavidhatestimewastersThese guys only have one modus operandi. Buy data harvested from job websites, and then use it to spam and cold call 'candidates' for their services.
This is unlawful as they are processing the data without the consent of the data subject, which is a breach of the DPA, and it is unlawful as it breaches Section 22 of the PECR. They probably try and claim they get data from 'legitimate', or 'reputable' suppliers, but this is nonsense.
The ASA found them out - https://www.asa.org.uk/Rulings/Adjudications/ ... px#.U8algI1dXdI
Further reports would probably lead them to being reported to CAP, who have the power to do things like stop them from being able to buy google ads.
Above all, who the hell would believe cold calling and spamming are the kinds of marketing and customer acquisition tactics that a reputable company would undertake.

0113 292 6158 - RestedFollowing an email from Sam Wright, I booked an appointment in Leeds and received an email confirmation from Christie Newstead. My appointment was with a Mr Guyler.
Having researched the company and found this and other review sites, I decided not to leave home at 7am for an 8.30am appointment today. I drafted an email to cancel the appointment but then thought why should I let them know I would not be attending so that they could scam me!
Surprisingly it makes me feel more confident about my ability to secure a good job through my own endeavours!- Caller: Apollo

- yet another lucky oneGot an email from Sam Wright. Quite presumptuous in expecting me to come for a meeting tomorrow - as if they have made up their mind for me that I have nothing better than to believe any email that comes from a Sam, the prince of Nigeria and everyone with a great business opportunity. I would like to name and shame them on Linkedin.

- Mike| 1 reply01132 2052862 is the latest number this company is using. Rachel has worked out a new approach. This company originally contacted me with the approach detailed earlier on this thread ref a meeting in Birmingham. I saw through the scam and quoted them £750 for my consultancy time for the meeting. They disappeared. Today I got a quite clever email from Rachel saying she had been trying to reach me ref a vacancy working for them. She hadn't rung as my phone logs all calls. I e mailed back asking for more details. She rang straight back and was quite impressive with a £100k+ salary and a meeting with her director in (you guessed it) Birmingham. This company has endless pages of complaints and even prosecutions for misselling and data protection violations. I can't find one good post or any iso accreditation. The recommendations on their Web site seem to be written by the same person, with reoccurring grammatical errors. Their pitch is the old one where they build you up with empty promises, commit you to travel then soft sell you into services readily available for free from companies like inguis, Remploy or your local job (prevention) centre (ask for a referral to a specialised company from the job centre). Don't waste your time or money.
