    Hi Abigail,

Do you still have this dodgy [***] Paul Braybrooke working for your company?
No good to have [***] people like him on the commission lost.

I will never forget how he [***] around and lied to me on every possible occasion.

    Bogus company all along!

Have you or your boss even read the comment here? You are going to have to do a lot better than that to convince people you are a professional and trustworthy company. The comments on here are burying you alive!

Thank you all for your posts. It is ironic that the Apollo website encourages clients to do their (spelling incorrect on the website!) homework before attending an interview. Well that is exactly what I did on Mr Pearce who I am due to see this week!

Needless to say that I will not be attending, however without this forum a number of us would potentially have been out of pocket.

Maybe there is a career somewhere in tracking such individuals down and exposing them!

    Once again many thanks

I think I'll have a lie in tomorrow.

I met with Nick Storey today, thinking I was dealing with a proper recruitment agency but it soon became apparent that he was a very smooth salesman trying to get me to take on his career services. At no point did he actually mention price but when he asked to meet me again he was very pushy to get the meeting next week.
Like others, I should have done my research up front, but I'm pleased I've read all the posts here so I will not waste any more time.
    All the best

came across his site while researching Apollo after 2 visits to their office in Cambridge - at Regus:

    Dear Mr.*****

Having reviewed your Online Profile, our Senior Consultant Mr Biggs has asked me to contact you. He believes that he can assist you to secure your next position and would like to meet up to explore your current situation.

He would be keen to meet in our local office on Friday or Monday afternoon if possible.

Please phone me on 0113 2052860 or e-mail me to arrange a mutually convenient time to meet.

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Best Regards

    Alex Smith

    Email: cv@apollo.eu.com
    Website: www.apollo.eu.com

Got suspicious when I looked at the message details to see it actually came from mail.p-c-s.uk.com.

Also after I called Alex I get an email from another person with details of the first meeting with John Biggs - a name mentioned earlier on this site.

Meeting 1 was 45 mins, meeting 2 was 2 hours when I got the cost for them to "assist" me in my job search - £2400 to be paid over 3 months.

I have read enough here to accept my losses for the visits to their rented office and the warning to leave well alone.

Does anyone know of or has direct experience of Apollos' services? I see the negatives regarding the cold call emailing but can't see any feedback on their services

I had an email from these guys too and alarm bells started ringing. A look at the comments here confirmed my worries. Preying on job seekers is just scummy. Replied with:
Upon some investigation, I have discovered that your company charges to provide access to 'informal jobs' - up to 2000k. Neither do I have this money, or if I did would I consent to give it to you. I have confidence in my own ability to find myself a legitimate position and will not be requiring your services. Do not contact me again.

    Screw these guys.

Just received a text message from 01132 052855 asking me to call an "Alex Smith" about my CV. Having been made redundant last Summer I've found myself looking for work and have posted my CV on a variety of job sites, which is probably where they've got my e-mail address from. Looking at the various comments about this Company, what they're doing would seem to be legal but not moral! To target the unemployed in such a way is the lowest of the low and I hope that no one is taken in by this! I certainly won't be contacting them!

    Hi,
Having been approached by Apollo, in the same fashion as all the other posts, I have been to two meetings with Mr Richard Wozniak. Although the Regus offices put me on alert, I was happy to listen to what he had to say, after all, nothing ventured, nothing gained!
Yesterday I  met him again ,having earlier spoken with Mrs Abigail Greenley over the phone where she mentioned that they sell career programmes, that was the first time any cost had been mentioned to me.
We had a pleasant meeting, but I wanted to do more research prior to making any monetary commitment.
It was through my research I found this useful site. The comments have been interesting.
I will now ask Mr Wozniak to supply me with the contact details of some of the people he has placed, and then take a view.
It may well turn out to be a scam, but as one earlier comment mentioned, unless you have parted with any money, there is no scam.

The above comments have been really useful for me
This company got my details via totaljobs and Alex Smith sent me an email as per the above. Tpyically you look at the website to understand and then I did call her to discuss. She seemed reluctant or unable to discuss specifics around jobs and who they worked for and then her insistence on having a meeting with the regional director made me suspicious, espeically when I asked for some specifics to be sent only to get another generic email from a partner
Its my view but I would be really carefuly dealing with such an organisation, it may be legal but by and large succesful recruitment companies make their money by charging the company and not the individual. Companies are happy to do this as it puts the right tension on the agency to find the right individual and then everyone wins. I would be really careful giving money to this company without getting guaratees in return such as moneyback guarantee but I also think a number of companies will not deal with this organisation however this is just a view. Finally I find it odd they dont list any companies who they have dealt with on their website, this is normally a great endorsemet which serves to give a little more transperancy to the candidate.
    Use with caution

I just posted my CV online and got the message below, to be honest it found it's way to my spam automatically so I was suspicious straight away, any reputable recruitment agency call you straight away.  Having read some of the reviews on here I don't think I'll be calling them by the way.  Looks like they pray on people desperate for jobs...

Having reviewed your CV, our Senior Consultant has asked me to contact you as he would like to meet up to talk through your current situation and career objective. We specialise in helping mid to senior level individuals across all sectors secure their next role.

He would be keen to meet in our Birmingham office as soon as possible.

Please phone me on 0113 2052860 or e-mail me to arrange a mutually convenient time to meet.

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Best Regards

Yes I too had a meeting with Mr Pearce Lucky for me I read this before I turned up, I wanted to make my own mind up so I attended the appt, I asked Mr Pearce how many people he's had through the system at his office per month, his reply was around 8 people signed up per month with a 95% success rate, which going on the figures the other people have been quoted for this service that would be 8 candidates x £3000 plus V.A.T = £28,800 not a bad little racket for a months work out of a 8ft by 7ft room :-) I feel a new agency starting up lol, he's clearly sales driven shame really, talented sales people, it was good interview experience though lol I still think people should turn up for the first appointment make them earn their money lol.

i am so glad i found this, had the same contact from mr Pearce and it just felt wrong, but couldnt put my finger on why. now i have read this i know. i had a meeting with PCS a few years ago, and was considering taking them up. but they made one mistake, when i asked what their success rate was, he told me business was booming and 95% of interviews signed up. what i meant was how many people found a position.

so now i know apollo is pcs you have all saved me a wasted trip into birmingham.

    thanks all

got two emails, then an sms, seemed almost genuine except for typos in emails and next rep having details so close to hand....almost curious to attend to see if it's his real name and submit my expense claim for the meeting.

Glad I came across these posts. I've just had my first half hour session with Apollo in Leeds and am booked in again at the end of the week for the longer session. This is where I now know I'll get asked for money! The redundancy I'm living off is precious enough so I won't be handing any of it over! It's a shame because for a few minutes there the 'senior consultant' made me feel more confident about getting a bigger and better role....
