01138

Several calls today from 01138-Indian source likely-Could they ask a few questions? -then I blanked them by dialing out by mistake.

Had a call from "out of area" but when I answered the line went dead. Within 10 minutes received anothed call, this time from 01138. The line again went dead as I picked up the phone. As with many of the previous comments I too have the TPS. This doesn't seem to work on calls from abroad though.

I was called twice this evening from 01138. First time it went dead, second time I was greeted by a guy with a foreign accent claiming to be carrying out market research, I couldn't make much out about what he said due to his heavy accent but he had all my address details... spooky.  I was told by a reputable market research company that market research is exempt from TPS.

The man asked me to take just one minute to complete market research. I told him I don't do research over the phone, he was persistent. I asked him not to phone again and he eventually just put the phone down. How rude he was.

3 calls from this number yesterday. Line went dead immediately on answer on first two occasions. On third a voice said "hello" and then it went dead. Never got a chance to tell them that we are on telephone preference. BT is our provider.

The phone has  rang 4 times today,and 3 times it has been a foreign voice asking for me,and the other call went dead.
The number was you have guessed it 01138,and when challenged as to who they were the man said "survey club).??

Just looked up the code for 01138 and it tells me that the calls are coming from Yugoslavia.
As I said earlier on here I have had 4 calls so far today from these annoying people,if they ring again I am going to see what their command of good old anglo saxon is like.!!!!!!!!?

had 3 today 1 from 01117, 01012 and 01138. first 2 just hung up third was some indin bloke who knew my name, and asked me if i could answer a few questions. i asked him what other numbers his company phoned from and he just hung up!! GORDON BROWN....stop [***] about in the middle east and send in the S.A.S to take these [***] out as a matter of priority! if i get my phone bill and i am charged for these dicks, i will go hunting for them my self!!!

had a call tonight same as everybody elses 01138 my daughter answered the phone but they just hung up we did 1471 weird number wouldnt call it back dont trust it

just had a phone call at 10.54 am 01138 saying they represented a uk marketing agencey asking name,age,etc then do i have sky tv,would ilike to purchase a mortgage.When i challenged them where they calling from ie uk or abroad they hung up,indian chap with very bad english prounciation on the other end sounds dodgy.

Yes, had the same from these numbers most go dead. Some hang up when challenged. They need cutting off.

That 01138 again!  I'm with TPS.  Yes I've had a number of such calls which go dead on speaking.  Its not like the others who 'withold their caller id'.
My phone is with Primus Planet-Talk (NOT Talk-Talk).

Received this call just now they just hang up we Tps too. However just before this call was another withheld number some foreign woman saying Market research -funny that it was just 3 mins apart looks like they gonna keep calling

i had the phone ring 4 times in one hour very annoying the phone rang and then the line went dead

really annoying. phone call after phone call ... line just goes dead

Indian lady asked if I had sky, If I owned my own house, What age group on behalf of thomas .......

My auntie keeps getting calls from this number
She's just gone out now, and the phone rang
So i picked up, didnt say anything and after about 5 seconds it went dead
