Had 2 calls which last a few seconds. Both times indecipherable and on calling back, I get the same message as the comments above mention.

Is there somewhere we can report & shut these fools down???

Got a missed call from this number. Didn't recognise it, so I did search for it. Thanks for all comments. I won't call them back now.

They just called me a minute ago and the guy was talking really fast so I couldnt catch the company name. They wanted my address to send me documents...i had a feeling it was a scam. They are terrible, tricking people like that.
The number they used was 01253750929....losers!

These people just called me. It sounds like a party going on in the background. They use a carefully structured questioning approach which eventually aims to get all your details. When I asked them to write to me they said they couldn't (data protection blah blah), and said they couldn't tell me how much I was owed. When I held back I was put onto a 'manager'. Clearly this is a scam that involves bullying.

Got a call from this number (01253 750929) and they said I was due an interest refund on my credit card and I asked them which one and then they started asking me leading questions so that I could give them the details of my card. I told them I did not pay any interest on my cards and they still insisted that they wanted to pay into any account that I had on my person. I got suspicious and refused to give them any card details and asked them to call back later when I got to the house where I had left all my cards. I then checked with my credit card company who told me there was no such scheme. As I expected the scammers never called back.

People, please DO not give out your details. If these [***] want to refund you, they should already have all the relevant details.

Got a missed call today, checked it out and found this out. So they are still scamming in 2010. Happy New year!

I got a call from this number today that I was due for a refund and they require my bank details. I asked what other details of me they have but I was told only my name and phone number. Its obviously a scam!

Just got caught, too busy doing three things at once, stupidly gave them my bank details. They say its for a mobile phone insurance refund, but after you are put on hold (while they nick your money) the next person you speak to says its about refunding 11 years worth of protection insurance, I dont have protection insurance, the caller said oh sorry and hung up. When i rang the bank 10 mins later it was too late, they had taken the money while i had been kept on hold.  The bank have cancelled my card but they say there is nothing they can do about the £59.95 that has been taken.  Have spoken to trading standards, please contact them too if you have been stung, they have suggested speaking to Financial Ombusman 0845 0801 800 if your bank are as unhelpful as mine!

Just had a call from this number.  Didn't recognise the number so didn't answer waited to see if a message was left - No message left.  I'm also on Orange.  Checked it out and found this.  Won't be calling back

Had a call at 3.15pm today. Ignored it and am glad I did after reading these comments.

Thanks for the tip off, just had a missed call from them and will now block this number.  I'm on Vodapahone so don't think its anything to do with Orange

Received a cold call today on my company mobile from the above caller, stating that they were a government backed company retrieving illegal insurance payments made to phone companies and they required bank details of where to deposit the £59.99,also my home address so they could forward the legal forms to be signed and sent back, when I said put a cheque in with the forms they said that they were not allowed to, I stated that I was not prepared to disclose my bank details and low and behold the phone went dead, nothing more than sharp practice.

I got a call this morning 5th January off this number. Claiming to be TPL (telesales people limited). They listed off government websites and company registration numbers at me when I said that I wasn't comfortable giving my card details over which led me to believe they were legitimate. Don't make the same mistake I did. Thieves.

My wife received missed call around midday on her mobile. didnt leave a message, and we didnt recognise number. Called back to get answerphone and then googled it to see what business it was. Glad i found this list and will warn friends. She is wiht T-mobile. isnt that the list that went missing/stolen??

Missed call from this number 10am 5 January on Orange work mobile number.

I also had a call this afternoon from a female caller from TPL telling me about some refund but when I asked her how she got my number she hurriedly hung up.

I had a call from this company today asking for my card details as I am due a refund on payment protection insurance on a banking product but due to Data Protection Act she couldn't give me details. As a financial adviser I know I don't have payment protection insurance on my credit card as I don't have a balance on it!! This is a scam DO Not give your card details. Couldn't get more information about them as she got moody when I refused to give my card details!

Do not answer your phone to number 01253750929! the [***] will take 59.99 off you! me bein stupid gave over card details to then find out it is a scam! dont b stupid like me, tell them 2 [***] off!!!
