I just got a call from this lady telling me I was miss sold ppi and I would be refunded 59.99 they told me they needed my bank details well I don't have a bank ha good job really well. Anyway 01253 rang me and that is a Blackpool area code.

Same here. Hoaxer rang off as soon as I started asking questions.

Also recieved a call claiming i was due a rebate. They didn't know anything about me! Asked my name, address, etc and then bank details which obviously i did not give. I did call there number back and it was answered!!

I got a call at 11:50 ALWAYS SEEMS TO BE AROUND LUNCHTIME!!! I didnt answer tho i was at school.

Got a similar call - tried to ring back, sounded dodgy on the answerphone with no company name or details. Hung up, Googled and found this.

Somebody should ask Orange to bar this number. Have the police been informed?

Received a call from this number claiming I was owed money for over paying insurance. When I queried them they could not offer any specific or accurate details on any of my insurances. They continued to ask for my personal and bank details. I said to the caller I thought they were dodgy and I hung up.  I did not offer any of my personal details to them. Becareful!

It's just a standard cold call ringing numbers at random, quite annoying as if they phoned you and were honest about what they were selling I'm sure they would have more success!

I find it ridiculous when people ask for your credit details... just remember if it's too good to be true it usually is!

the above number rang me today saying they wanted to give a refund and wanted bank details.  i have reported this to the police.

These people called me, same as everyone else said but as soone as they clicked I was onto them they hung up. I've warned everyone I can and started a text message alert too and would suggest anyone else do the same!!!!!!

I just received a call from this number, very noisy background and had problems hearing what the girl was saying. Think she called the company GLS - not sure though.

She said i was due a rebate to which i replied i didbn't know what she was going on about and didn't have any insurance. She sounded suprised and asked if i'd had an insurance policy in the last 12 years - i said no.
Very dodgy and i presumed had i said yes she woudl have asked for my bank details. I hung up.

Recieved call today 14/1/10 saying i was due a rebate of 59.99 for overpayment on  car insurance  they asked for  bank detail and  i refused told them  to send it in a cheque .  after the call i  called them  back  and  it said the company  was now closed .

I got a call from this number telling me I had an insurance rebate due and asking me to confirm my account details. The account they told me they had was not the correct number. (Of course it wasn't, they were conning me)

As it happens, I do have an insurance rebate in process with a business insurance company, so therefore I thought it was them saying they were finally paying up, so like a muppet I gave them my other account details.

I have been giving account details to so many debtors recently that I failed to spot that they did not need my security code to give me money.

Therefore I have just been ripped off for £59.99 by these gits. I called the bank, they registered my card as stolen to stop any future payment to them. However, I can't claim the money back or set the fraud squad on them, as I willingly gave them my details.

Had I not been waiting on an insurance rebate recently I would have spotted this con, but unfurtunatly, these guys called at just the right time to catch me out.

Tried calling back, obviously they do not enter. Was also a lunch time call from blackpool as others have stated above.

So annoyed, as now I can't afford to pay the mortgage tomorrow!

I’ve just had a call on my Orange works mobile from 01253 750929.  I missed the call as I was on the landline, so I phoned back afterwards and got a bizarre answerphone message (first said lines were closed, then said I was on hold for an operator, then played music).

I'm hoping they call back so I can give the numpty's some abuse!
