- rosyMy husband has recently been conned by these people who have no morals whatsoever, he has dementia and didnt even know what the telephone call was about but they managed to get his card details off him and take £299.00. I didnt event know what he had done until I received 3 e mails off them 2 hours later and rang immediately to cancel we have never had any PPI insurance so it didnt apply to us. Needless to say we have not had a refund but I have reported them to Trading Standards, MOJ and local MP and Parliament for the unethical practices. What goes round comes round and I hope they like porridge.

- Lulubell| 2 repliesI really wish that I had seen this sight before!! I agreed to pay the fee over 4 months of £75 and handed over my card details for the 1st payment to leave my account. I then had a change of mind and rang yesterday to cancel (just a handful of days after the 7 day cancellation period). AIMS have refused to re-credit me £75 (even though I have not signed the forms or given them any Mortgage details for them to start work on).
I rang my bank to cancel my card, but was told that even if I do that, AIMS can still take future payments!! My bank has noted all details and will, hopefully, be able to stop future payments.
I cannot believe I fell for this scam!!- Caller: AIMS review

It is not surprising that some people on here have been scammed. Repeating same [***] over and over. As I stated earlier, go and swallow your AIMS Con Dictionary. - Coatesy replies to Liz| 1 replyI was hounded by calls from Aims Reclaim everyday for over a month during June/July 2012 they were leaving messages on my phone constantly.
“Hello have you been mis sold PPI?”
It was getting so bad I didn’t want to answer my phone.
Eventually I spoke to them explaining that I didn’t take out protection on my mortgage as my mortgage was so small.
I said I would appreciated it if they would stop ringing me but then the Aims representative went into the sales talk, the rep told me that lenders often add extra onto the repayments as extra insurance for them without the borrowers knowledge.
The rep asked some questions about my mortgage and a small loan I had taken out a few years earlier which I didn’t take protection out on either, the rep done some calculating then after a while he/she came up with a sum of money of £3,000 +
The rep went on to tell me how Aims could possibly reclaim around £3,000 + for me based on the information I had given.
Then went on to say…for a one off payment of £250 I could become a member of Aims and if Aims couldn’t reclaim any money for me or make me any better off financially I would be refunded my £250 in full and that I had nothing to lose.
The rep asked me if I had any credit cards or store cards, I answered No
The rep asked me if I was happy with my utility suppliers, home insurers etc… I said I WAS.
The rep never said that I must let Aims get me a better deal on utility bills, insurances etc….the rep was aware that I only wanted the PPI on my mortgage checked based only on what was said earlier in the conversation about the lenders adding money on.
The rep dangled the carrot and asked what could you do with £3,000?
I did admit that I was very tempted.
The rep said that as soon as I pay my £250 over the phone by debit card a duplicate contract would be sent out to me and that I would have to sign both copies and send one back to Aims then they would get the ball rolling regarding my mortgage.
I told rep that I wasn’t very good with contracts rep assured me contract was only to say that I was allowing Aims to work for me regarding PPI.
I asked several times “Will I definitely get my £250 back?”
“Yes” I was assured.
I paid the money in good faith, a few days later the contracts arrived and I naively signed them kept one and sent the other back to Aims.
Aims did look into my mortgage and notified me saying that I didn’t have a claim which I knew all along but the rep on the onset had pushed me into chasing £3,000+ but looking back on hindsight the rep just wanted my £250 and his commission.
I rang Aims requesting a refund of my £250
I was told I had to be a member for 12months before I could claim back my money.
After a 12month period I rang Aims again, I was told I had to put it in writing to claim back my money.
I did.
I received a phone call from Aims saying that I wasn’t entitled to my money back.
“How?” I asked
“You’ve breached your contract, you haven’t allowed Aims to save you money!”
“I did! I gave Aims the opportunity to claim back money on my mortgage!” I protested.
“Aims use a third party for PPI claims, you were supposed to let Aims save you money on utility bills etc…”
“I was never told that, this was all about PPI!” I argued.
“Read your contract, have a good day!
I have been to see my doctor suffering from stress, £250 is a lot of money to me and my family, I feel MIS SOLD and cheated. - Coatesy| 1 reply

I have been to see my doctor suffering from stress, £250 is a lot of money to me and my family, I feel MIS SOLD and cheated. - RMcGinty replies to CoatesyAs you can see AIMS is a total scam. Put your mind at rest and report them to the Ministry of Justice (MOJ). Make a difference and report them ASAP. And take care because they have taken advantage of a lot of people, as you can see from the Blog.
- Maher Jafer replies to CoatesyYeah...(un)fortunately you have just described how these con merchants reel people in.....in essence they feed on your own greed/desperation/naivety. In order to sell, one has to efface the fundamental realities of what you are selling. The salesman seemingly did a sterling job - your need for £3000 clouded your judgement and they convinced you into giving £250 to a complete stranger as a direct result. Regardless, seeing your doctor will not get your money back.
- Litigation| 4 repliesI am appalled by the dealings with this company. I like many others on the site fell for the initial sales pitch early on a Saturday morning. I was quoted a sum of £15,000 and when I questioned the fee of £250 I was categorically told this would be included in any fee associated to any reclaim. Lots of form filling and work on my part and coincidently 6 months later. I received a payment of just over £700 and advised this was the only claim that was successful; at the same time I received a bill from AIMS for £232. I contacted the company in May and explained the initial payment of £250 would cover this. I was informed that the initial fee was paid to AIMS Review for a membership the £232 was to AIMS Reclaim and were two completely independent companies. AIMS Review worked on a no win no fee basis. I explained this was not clear in initial conversation and logos etc were the same. I refused to pay the latter invoice asking for an investigation into original sales call. I waited till August for a reply from a Compliance Agent Helen Rowland., that an investigation could not be made as they only keep records for 6 months, she assured me her sales representitives are highly trained and would not say the £250 was inclusive. Unlike some contributors to this page I am confident I know what I agreed to but can not prove it. Various emails have passed between my self and said person, as I believe £472 for a payment of £700 is above the 25% they they I signed for. I have had no other benefit and non of the savings highlighted have been forthcoming ; will writing, utilities savings etc. etc. I have just had to pay the £232 as I was threatened with litigation and I could not have this in my profession . I wish I had found this page before my last payment. I am still fighting for my refund of £250 as if the two companies are completely independent as Ms Rowland has put in an email, then AIMS Review have not kept their part of the contract, if they are not they have taken more then 25%. Apart from reporting to MOJ any advice?

- Wendy Owen| 1 replyI was misled by persistent calls from this company claiming they could reclaim money for me, stating I had been miss-sold PPI. They were so convincing that I was persuaded to part with £250 with the impression that they would only retain the £250 if they could find there was a claim against the bank or mortgage provider, the money was withdrawn that evening and on contacting them further, they assured me that I would have the £250 returned after a 12 month period, if there was no valid claim. Now after 12 months having been onto them several times, still no money has been refunded. I await your reply.

- Been there replies to Wendy OwenIm afraid you have no chance of getting your £250 back.
The small print in the membership states ypu must make use of their services. Ie the free will service, the insurance brokers who attempt to reduce your home, contents and life insurance. Then there is the energy switch service.
All of these services can obviously be done yourself for free via the internet but the small print will say something along the lines of "if after using all of our services and you have not managed to save more than the membership payment, this will be refunded after 12 months."
The service they provide includes but certainly does not end with the PPI service.
Morally reprehensible but npthing wrong legally.
