They called me and said they knew my T-Mobile contract was coming to an end. The problem is, I've been on an O2 contract for 10 months since then, so who knows where their records come from. I told them I had another year left, so they said they would update their records and then politely disconnected. Not rude at all, but not exactly on the ball either.

i have so far had 3 calls of these people - eventhough each time i say im happy with both my contract and my phone they still call again a few days later - they are plesant enough but after you have answered a few of the questions they can get quite pushy if you say no to them.

I've had numerous calls from them and everytime they say that my T-mobile contract is ending in 3 months... when i actually still 14 months to go!!! Obviously they don't know anything about my contract! Very annoying! Does anyone know how to stop their calls?? I have already told them their information is wrong and I am not interested, but they called again!

This company have called me numerous times before and every time they call i tell them that I'm not interested! The last time I was called they were extremely rude. As soon as i said i wasn't interested they bullied me with questions asking why I was not interested and then proceeded to hang up on me. This i find extremely inconsiderate as they are phoning my mobile number which is a personal phone and I haven't asked them to call me.

I have now registered on the T.P.S online which is the Telephone Preference Service which is free to do and company's like this have to scan for T.P.S Registered customer before they call the data that they are on. It prevents sales and marketing calls to your house or mobile phone. If any of these company's call you from then on you can complain to Offcom about them.

    Hope this helps..

Contacted by this company 10 mins ago.  Welsh male said he was phoning about my Orange mobile contract.  I asked if he was phoning on behalf of Orange - 'No, about your Orange contact'.  I asked 'Did Orange give you this number' - he 'asked someone' then told me that it was obtained from a national database of mobile phone numbers!!!  I didn't know there was one.  Is there?

If this company starts calling you... Just do what I did...

Call their customer services telephone number (which is the one Ed posted) and ask to be removed. When I did this a polite young fellow explained why they were calling but had no problems removing me, nor did I get any hassle. They certainly seem to be a lot better than some of the companies that have called me in the past.

Just to be on the safe side though, join TPS, its free.

I'm on the TPS but still I've had four calls from these people who have picked up on the fact my O2 contract is ending. The first two times I told them I was on the TPS they just slammed the phone down and called later. The next time some guy said he'd remove me, but I still got another call a day later.

Their prevailing tactic is talking about 'renewing my contract', trying to make it sound like it was a call from my current provider. I quizzed them but they would admit that it was a cold sales call.

Their current behavior is illegal. I'm suspecting some of the posts here are by stooges, they're certainly not a "great company to deal with".

I'll try the number on the top post and start compiling a log of their unwanted calls should they continue so I can make a complaint.

yeah i got a few phone calls, they said i was due a free phone beacuse my 12month contract with o2 was up soon, i corrected them and said its an 18 month contract with 6 months still left to run.  They still offered me a free phone...all expcept the £10 delivery charge, then they ask for a credit card to bill the charg too, at this point i ended the call...phone the carphone warehouse..they put me through to o2, o2 advised me not to talk or do business with them.  When they phoned again i told them what O2 had said..it went very quite very quickly and the line went dead....somethings not right there so i'd advise you what they advised me, just go to the nearest branch for your network and speak face to face when the time comes.

these people are legit! i took an order with them, but then realised i had my dates mixed up re the contract time left. i phoned them and said my contract isnt due for renewal for a few more months. they were very pleasant and cancelled the order going on to the system and asked if it was ok to be in touch in a few months from now.

Woman rang me today an the conversation went like this:

Woman: "You're T-mobile contract is due to be ending soon I understand"
Me: "No, I don't think so"
Woman: "When is it due to end?"
Me: "I'm sorry where did you say you were calling from? You're not from T-Mobile are you?"
Woman: "No I'm from a company called Free Fones Select"
Me: "I'm sorry but I'm not really interested"
Woman (in a rude and abrupt tone): "Oh, so you're NOT INTERESTED in saving money"
Me: "No thank you, and I'd appreciate less of the attitude"
    Woman (Sarcastically): "Byeeeee!"

What kind of telesales person gives you a unsolicited call then gets angry when you politely say you're not interested!? Besides anything else my T-mobile contract is no-where near ending but like I would go with any company with a call centre like this!

    Unbelievable.

just got a call saying my contract is due to end soon. They said it is with o2 and asked about how many minutes i get etc. they told me they are a company called free fones select. If i will renew my contract it would be with o2. not just that o2 (or any other major company) will more than probably give a better deal if you haggle to them on the phone when renewing so bear that in mind.

these people are a pain in the harris. they phone constantly in the hope of tricking people into signing up with them on a bluff. just ask for the name of the caller for the tps and trading standards which gets rid of them...

They didn't seem to be tricking me - Yes it was a cold call that I didn't ask for - No they didnt try to trick me nor were they rude. All the person wanted to do was talk about my contract, I answered her questions (which were short and to the point) listened to what she had to offer and politely declined. Done and dusted! I assume they have now removed me from the list becuase I haven't had another call since.

If you don't like receiving cold calls, why are you not already on the TPS list?
