- Meinir ThomasThis is really strange. This is a Carmarthen number (the town where I'm from). I'm very surprised to see a Carmarthen number up here. I haven't had a call from them myself, I'm just extremely surprised to see a local number on this site!
- JamesFinally picked up a call from these guys today, very persistant! I feel like a right idiot as he took my bank details, then we couldn't progress any further as I have a solo card and this is not valid with their company. I then searched the number on the internet and ended up here. Im glad I didn't go through with the deal but also terrified now they have my details! Ill keep you informed if there's any funny business.
- KristyPlease dont be fooled by this company. They also use the number : 01792761030. They are based in Swansea and ALWAYS use a different company name. They start the conversation with "I noticed your contract is coming to an end soon" with the hope that you will say yes and they will then try thier hardest to sell you a 3 contract. Not a clue how they get our numbers! They are so persistant and i sometimes get 2 or 3 calls from them a day. They tend to have a habit of hanging up on you when you anwser too! Very annoying. I politely asked them where they got my number from and they told me they couldnt say because of the data protection act!! MY data cant be given to ME! AVOID THIS NUMBER
- tomI found them to be polite and helpful. just not what im looking for right now is all.
- Roger"3" inform me that they are fed up with these jokers. It appears that the service provider has no say about FreeFoneSelect selling their contracts as all that is needed is for them to obtain a licence from Ofcom to do so. I will be contacting Ofcom in the morning (28/10/08) as well as Trading Standards. My own complaints against these bullies would take up too much space to detail here, but I strongly recomend that others complain to the aforementioned agencies in order to get their licence revoked. I am informed that at least one mobile company is ammassing a dossier of these complaints for the same purpose.
- DiannaTo day I've had 16 calls in the last 6 months from this lot, 4 last weekend and two since then. Each time I have explained I'm not on a contract, I wouldn't be interested in thier services and that my number is TPS. Each time they apologiesed, were poliete and said they'd remove me from thier database.
Had another missed call from them last night, blocking thier number doesn't seem to help much. - GaryObviously a lot of people on here have got too much time on thier hands (probably too scared to go outside in case the bad man comes).
I have had a phone with them for going on a month now and although I had a few problems to start with they have been helpful every step of the way. Big thanks to customer services for helping me.
All I can say to Roger is GROW UP! everyone knows it's the network that permits a company to sell thier packages and NO license is required from OfCom (which is now a defunct part of OfTel by the way), who are you trying to kid Roger? Yourself perhaps? - stephenim the same as gary , well dont mate, i spoke 2 a really nice girl called beccy, she made me laugh and quite honesly made my day, they can be a pain yes but i have acctually had a phone from them and its great. as of the rest of you how can u make comments if u aint had anything from the company?? ill definatly be passing there number on too my friends and family.
- MKeep getting phone calls but when I try to call can't get through. Glad I googled the number and read the comments. Will bar them from my phone now. Thanks
- carenIve had 2 calls from this company today. The first I was at work and when I answered there was some talking in the background then they hung up. The second I didnt answer. It's only after googling the number that ive read the above. They actually rung me last week too and I told them the same as a lot of you that I only got my contract in july so I still have over a year left and they said they would update their records.
If so many people have already contacted trading standards they why are they still being allowed to operate? - sarahI have a complaint regarding the company Free Fones Select. They telephoned my partner (Shaun) in September saying that there database showed his contract with O2 was coming to an end within the next month, and if he would like to adopt a contract with Three (3) network. Shaun took this lady’s word to be true and signed up for the contract as it seemed to be a good deal compared with his current one. He was advised to get in touch with O2 for his PAC number so he could carry his phone number over to the 3 phone. He telephoned O2 on the 05.11.08 to discontinue the contract and gain the PAC number only to be informed his contract didn't come to an end until March 2009.
This company had blatantly lied in order to gain a sale. Surely this is illegal?? I would understand if Shaun had approached this company or if he had said his contract was coming to an end, but this was defiantly not the case as I was present during the conversation.
Once he discovered his contract didn’t end until March 09 he rang Free Fones Select immediately only to find them cocky and sarcastic that he had been tricked. They said his only option was to reduce his O2 contract charge and remain paying for both. Once pressed (by a now very angry Shaun) they offered to give him 2 months free contract. He was left with no alternative.
They dealt with the conversation/complaint with ease and a rehearsed spiel suggesting that this wasn’t a first.
Myself and my partner are extremely annoyed, not because of the money but of how a company can approach you in your own home, lie to you in order a sale and to then not take any responsibility for their actions. I am disgraced that such a well respected company such as 3 are dealing with such con artists. Are sales really that bad???- Caller: free fone select
- Lyall ThomasI had the same problem as Sarah and her partner, when they asked me if my contract was coming to an end I said I thought it was (like a lot of people on here by the looks of it) but turned out to be 5 months later. My fault completely as they did provide all the information on how to cancel my contract and double checked with me. I guess I was just excited.
I agree with Sarah in the fact that when I rang free fones select to explain my mistake they also dealt with me with ease and I found that my problem was sorted almost straight away. Just as they had previously with Sarah, they advised me to downgrade my package and made sure I wouldnt have to pay two bills.
Suffice to say I am now ticking away quite happily on my new phone and I dont feel lied to by them, in fact I feel quite the opposite as they have helped me with my mistake and I will certainly recommend anyone here to give them a try. - RockGypsyI contracted with O2 during Sept 07, and for one reason or another, have never used the mobile... therefore, how on earth (other than randomly calling numbers), could they telephone me. Didn't recognise the number, and so when they rang 10 times, each time the call being signified as "Missed Call", I simply rejected the call.
Evidentially, the call was not THAT significant, otherwise they would have left a message on voice mail.
Having read previous comments, this is one call that I definitely wont be taking. I am quite happy with O2.- Caller: Unknown
- SRBGot a call from a guy called Martin last night telling me that my Tmobile contract was coming to an end. I told him his information was incorrect and he then asked when my contract was due to end I told him to find out for himself- he then got rude and told me it was within my interest to tell him or I would get continous calls from them and he was doing me a favour! I told him where to go and hung up and today will be reporting the company to trading standards and seeing if the number they use for outgoing calls can be blocked the number they called me from was 01267 226 750.

- lynseyglad to find this site as i have 4/5 missed calls from them every day now for over a week (quite annoying really) and was wondering who it was. i cant use my phone at work so could never answer it to find out but now im defo just going to ignore it.
my contract isnt due for ages, i had a call few weeks ago but was withheld and when i said no my contracts not due yet the bloke just hung up on me, i wonder if its the same people . - LindaMy daughter (age 15) who is registered with TPS just got a call from this lot and hung up straight away. Will be reporting them
- Lainey :)xI just had a missed call from this number: I will know not to answer it now!
BUT I am on pay-as-you-go so wondered where they got my number FROM? I am stingy about giving it out for this very reason.
The only unusual thing I think I've done lately is opt for the free mobile update from Facebook!?! Does that ring any bells for anyone else? No such thing as a free lunch aye, they have probably sold the information to this and other companies!
Polite or not I hate liars and if they come up with some rubbish about contracts ending they'll get a flea in their ear - that's underhand and deceiptful!
I wonder if the guy at the top is really a 'customer' - or some clever-dick salesperson from their marketing dept? - Pretty Kitty :)Haha - p*ss myself - Gary, Stephen and M (probably one and the same) obviously work for these jokers - otherwise why would you bother to google the number if yu were happy with a service?
And if 'we' have too much time on our hand what does that saabout you? You just did exactly what you are critisising 'us' for! Lol! I really did Laugh Out Loud!
Obviously you need to be that thick though to work for a company like that - plus for thinking that anyone these days would hand over BANK DETAILS(!!!!!) on the strength of a phone call????
Helloooooaaaa!
PMSL! - Lee.Called me about 15 times in a week so I finally answered and they were offering me a new contract on my 02 phone. When I said I only wanted to upgrade to either an iphone or N96 they said that they were having problems with them and wouldn't stock them so they couldn't help.
Pleasant enough.- Caller: Free Phones Direct
