Just found a missed call from this number. I'm currently in China, so I'm not happy that they'll waste my time and money on this shite. I wonder how much I can claim in compensation for annoying me...

Same problem here. In the past few weeks, I've been getting several phone calls from 0800 1218 141. The first time, I tried to call back, since I was jobhunting... Then I found out on the internet who it was and I entered the number in my address book as 'Barclaysharass'.
Then, this week, I was in Paris for 2 days to get a couple of things done before starting my new job (won't be able to get a holiday till next Spring): council tax, income tax, concierges, renegotiation of the house insurance, banker, GP, dentist... I got FOUR calls from 0127 338 4548 in those 2 days, and since I thought it was the company who is checking my references for my new employer, I tried to call back, all in vain!
Now I've worried for nothing, and I will have to top up my mobile phone.
Thank you Barclays!!! I think I'm going to change bank.

Right, today, during my lunchbreak, I went to Barclays, waited for 45 minutes to see a personal banker, and then asked to be taken off the 'cold-calling' list.
6pm, guess who called?

This is AIG - trying to sell personal accident insurance, saying that they are calling on behalf of Barclays Bank.

Remember football lovers, AIG are sponsors of Manchester United - don't encourage them!

1-3 missed calls every day for over a week now, realy annoying

these calls are as a result of putting your info into ..price comparison sites..a relative put my phone number into one of these sites ...when checking somthing regarding house insurance ..and i started getting calls everyday from a different number ...when i was home and answered ..they asked for me by name then hung up ..i barred the last number which was from sheffield ..now it has started again via this number from hove..which i have now barred ..

I left the UK in February and it's now October. I have had my English phone turned off for months and on turning it back on I have started to get heaps and heaps of missed calls from this number again. I belonged to Barclays so it makes sense it's them.

It's all dropping into place. i receive calls from 01273 384 548 AND also from 0800 1218141. Both are Barclays. i've never answered and am about to register with TPS to stop the calls.

I have done a bit of research and it appears these calls may come from a company called Telegen (if indeed it is a comapny based in Brighton). If they ring ask them if that is who they work for.

they call my mobile about twice aweek. annoying annoying, tried calling back engaged.

the number 01273384548 is from a 3rd party company tryin to sell extended warranties for Sky

Its very annoying as when i answer nobody there, so obvs it is from a call centre with automated dialing.

I had miss calls at 7 oclock last night from this number and i rtried to call it back for the last hour and its engaged till i found this site and read what all you had wrote! How ridiculous are these companys!!

Answered at around 7:30pm also one missed at 1pm turned out to be sky contacting me about getting repair cover, girl seemed very new and was more of a training session by the sounds of it. Either way harmless but still annoying. Said I wasnt interested this was followed up by "What makes you not interested." and my answer "sorry need to go." Hope this helps.

They called me today and they were talking with me something about paying 7.50 per week for something and they asked me was I intrested in it .Of course I said no.I think it was from Barclays as well.

They called a few minutes ago my hubby answered the bloke said I had purchased a hotpoint tumble drier hubby said no thanks bloke was rude and hung up have a tumble drier but not a hotpoint...... idiots!!

Google is amazing - i have typed this annoying number and ... here we are - three pages of annoyed folks! This is an automated callcentre and they offer free life insurance for three months, £7.5 per month afterwards. This is AIG Insurance charged through Barclays Bank Account Direct Debit facility.
If you agree they will send you terms and conditions and exclusions and if you read it carefully ...
... cancel it 15days before 3 months free cover expiry date ;-))) so you save £22.50 ;-)) treat them the way they treat you:)

you need to call barclays and tell them you dont want marketing calls!

This number has called me in the last two days, no voicemail.

it's barclays for me, have you tried turning on auto reject (or whatever its called in your phone) but they're a pain.
