I have been getting calls from  01273384548 and 08001218143 in the last few days 4 miised calls from the brighton number on Friday  and then 3 from the 0800 number I rang the 0800 number back tonight and there was ataped message saying they represented Dometic something or other and were calling on behalf of Sky. I do have Sky ...it's only when I checked this site out that I discovered the scam going on here. I think someone here mentioned that price comparison sites maybe to blame. I rather foolishly entered my mobile number on a Taxi Price comparison site last week.

Call from 01273384548 no message-constantly engaged.Is it Virgin? Are they selling?

High pressure salesman says he was selling equipment protection cover for sky.Represented himself as sky.Got as far as asking for my sort code.I said for him to give me a number so i could call him back with details.Said he couldnt do that,as it was an outbound only call centre.Tried giving me a list of sky protection account numbers.I put the phone down on him,rang sky-yes it is a scam.Beware folks.!

I was on holiday for a week and came back to 25 missed called from this number, have not heard anything since, but calling that many times is rather excessive...Beware!!

have been called by this number. when tried to call back-persistently engaged even at 1am! so must be dodgy.

phonecall from 01273384548 nov:4th  7.34pm from Paul Barclays Bank asked for my wife when she declined he would not speak to me and put the phone down. Today i reported it to Barclays Bank who told me it was one of their numbers but did not know what it was about, they will investigate and be in touch within 5 working days. Watch this space.

man called my house phone. asked for my full name and when i answersed back, he waited a few seconds then put down the phone. useless, just got this new number as well

THEY NEED TO GET A LIFE

Exactly the same as everyone else - they call - don't leave a message - they're always engaged - It's been happening every day for the last 2 weeks. Morons! Why bother having a telephone number that can't be called back?! MORONS! Either, some idiot on their end has left the phone off the hook - and none of the mensa employees have noticed that no one's been calling since 2007! Or their ring tone is just "Beep beep beep beep..."?!

They keep ringing me too, and yes, it's always engaged when I tried to rng them back. Have these people got nothing better to do with their time?

I've had "missed call" text message today and yesterday, both from this number. I haven't had the chance to do any research yet (other than finding this page via Google), but:

I do not bank with Barclays, and never have done.

I do not have a Barclaycard, and never have had one.

I do not have Sky TV, and have never had it.

And my phone number is on the TPS.

Call from this number picked up by ansaphone: No message left.  Get plenty of calls from this number; never a message.  It would be interesting if it is Barclays as no-one in this house is a customer of theirs; therefore why would they call?  Perhaps this is a call centre driven power-dialler, in which case, further surprise as I thought them illegal to use in the UK!!

They rang my grandmother between 8:30-9:00pm very rude to her all because she wouldnt tell the where i was, not a clue who they are but i promise if i come face to face with them i will not hold back to kicking the [***] out of them they can NOT do this to my family and expect to get away from it.

PLEASE IGNORE THESE CALLS!!!! My poor mum fell victim to them today...said they were selling protection insurance for SKY...mum is with SKY and they knew all her details and asked for sort code and account number to set up direct debit..mum gave details and when off phone realised it was suspicious, so rang back, but as you all have said, it was engaged.  Mum got SKY telephone number, which was different, SKY had no record of this and said mum was already protected through payments.  So it has been a very stressful time, trying to close account before money has been taken. Please, just ignore the calls. The real SKY took the number and said they will investigate.

SEND DETAILS OF THIS 3RD PARTY WORKING ON BEHALF OF SKY. TO THOMPSON SOLICTORS THAT ARE SUEING SKY FOR 3 BILLION POUNDS . FOR SELLING CUSTOMERS NUMBERS TO 3RD PARTYS.

I got a call from this number 012733384548 they said they were from Sky about my warranty for which i do not have, as it is just over a year old and as with all our other electrical products we get a letter from Domestic & General (very good & cheap)soon after the 12 month period is up. I said that we have a warranty from D & G and he said we did not (this is true)  i then asked him to send the usual letter as it comes out of my wifes account a& i do not have authority to set up, he said this would be ok as all our other products were covered with D & G but Sky do not do business like this and while he was on the phone i googled the number and who calls me came up with all comments you can see so isaid i did not have these details & to send out letter but he said he would phone back over weekend (persistant little bugger) so all please beware Sky & D&G do not operate like this so if you see number ignore or answer & just leave on the side as\TPS doesnot seem to affect these people

Got call from this number saying pretty much the same as everyone else but if any of you are aware of a company in and around ford that was closed by HRMC due to money owing because of his operational procedures (DODGY Dave Reynolds) sounds like he ans associates are back agai.

I answered the phone...and that's what they told me too. However, I also contacted Barclays who said it was NOTHING to do with them..and said they would not contact customers in that manner

This person keeps calling but dosent leave a message and when I try to call back it says that the network is busy!
