Report a phone call from 01273743574 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- AmberI was called today, first on my home phone then concurrently on my mobile! I refused to give them any details so they told me to go into a Lloyds branch. I immediately called phone banking who confirmed the number was Lloyds collections. They put me through to collections though who said there was no reason I should have been called - my accounts are all in good standing with them.
I hope they don't call again. I'm not convinced it really is Lloyds, it's not terribly hard to make a different number than where you're calling from display on Caller ID.- Caller: Lloyds TSB Collections
- jo| 1 replykeeps calling?
- mrnelsonHad several calls on my mobile from this number about 3 months ago - phoned them back (without giving any personal details) and explained that I did not have ANY bank accounts or credit cards with Lloyds TSB. They were very apologetic and said they would remove my mobile number from their records. It was a new mobile with a new number so just assumed that they had perhaps transposed a digit on someone elses number. The calls have started again today so I have explained YET AGAIN that I have no accounts with them...
- christofI recieved a a call from a guy with an Indian accent who told me there was a problem with my account at Lloyds TSB. He asked me to comfirm my details with him and so I told him that i dont give that info on the phone. I managed to get this guys number by dialling 1471 and gave this number to Essex police. I asked essex police to keep me up to date with this investigation of this.
If we all stick together and keep asking the police for an update on this enquiry we should be able to push the police for an arrest of these scamming, no good, thiefs. BT told me that this phone number belonged to a marketing company. Lets get em together. Always call the police and report fraud phone calls and ask to be kept up to date with the enquiry and you will be given an enquiry number. Now follow it up.- Caller: Lloyds TSB NOT!
- ChrisI've had two calls from this number. Each time they actually asked for someone who isn't me..! So, not only do I now have to try to stop the calls, I also have to find out why my home telephone number is listed against someone elses name...!
By the way: 01273 743574 is a genuine Lloyds number. The reason some people think it's not is because they probably phone Lloyds main number (0845 3000 000) which is all current accounts - and they have no record of the 01273 number. You need to contact the Lloyds credit card side of the business.- Caller: Lloyds credit cards
- HannahI have just had this as well, what bank would ring at 9 at night! do they think we are stupid or something!
- MariI had this kind of call last month and a guy said that he's from LLoyds TSB Credit control centre. He said i must pay my credit card, i said that i'm doing it through my baranch, than he said to pay at least £10 isn't it weird? Now he called today at 9am. It's saturday!

- LenVery very rude man claiming to be from LLoyds TSB demanding my personal details in the middle of my office. Someone should report these unprofessional and rude people to someone but guess that noone would do anything to them anyway!

- KenThere are very extensive Indian operations relating to Lloyds TSB, HG3 and Orange. The 01273743574 number is bogus. I suspect the others are not. Their tactic is to exact minimum payments under threat of reporting you to credit reference agencies. They will be blunt in demanding your DOB, first line of your home address and post code. They will say that they are "well versed in all UK protocols".
HG3 operates out of Glasgow BUT via India. A letter of complaint was replied to this week from Glasgow but written by an Indian gentleman who was clearly not in this country; writes Indian English as opposed to British English and suggested that a very helpful way to have an account arrears paid would be to find family or friends who would be willing to take over the payment. All I had to do was to notify them (HG3 India) of the names and addresses and they would transfer the accounts to the new names!
The simple way to deal with all calls from India is to disconnect the call. If you speak with them MAKE them give you their FULL name, not just their first name, and dont be fooled by the new concept of using English forenames.
Remember too that all of these people, and I'm talking about the legitimate ones, are all on commission. They receive a bonus or commission for every payment they can exact, and where they are able to push it above a given threshold (unknown to you the customer), they receive a further bonus. It is a cut throat industry and is going to become ever more aggressive as the Recession takes hold.
These companies will also always ask you, often in the most subtle ways, to confirm your phone number. They will ask you to confirm a mobile and even a work number.
Lloyds TSB India use this. So if you refuse a call on your home line, you will be called within 60 seconds on your mobile. If you have given your office number, they will repeatedly call the office.
Another tactic is to catch customers early on Sundays or mid evenings on Sundays.
In short - calls from India from whatever source amount to harrassment. Keep a log of EVERY call - including:
time, date, full name, tel number if you are able to get it, and the town or city from which they are calling.
Above all, do not give your debit or credit card details.
To be fair to Lloyds TSB India, the customer services rep I spoke to yesterday acknowledged that calls from India could be irksome. His advice was to ring a the UK 0845 number and just ignore the requests to key in the information such as account number and sort code. He said by just refusing to answer, the system will switch over to a UK customer call centre. This succeeded and progress was made until I queried the decision about the amount being paid. I was asked by the UK rep if I wished to speak with Collections in Andover, Hants? Yes. I went straight through to India.
I hope these notes are of assistance.- Caller: HG3 and Lloyds TSB
